Borderlands 3 and Control are $44.99 at Best Buy

Either way, those who still have GCU, the BF pricing won't make a difference since the discounts doesn't apply during that time.

But there's Cyber Monday though so if the BF Prices are the same on Cyber Monday and GCU stacks, then yes, I will definitely pull the trigger on check out.

Amazon has a coupon you can apply bringing the price down to $33.74 - it was briefly out of stock but now seems back. I don't think you can price match because of the coupon but not a bad price.

That's pretty tempting for borderlands, not sure I have the time or patience for it right now though as I've heard the story is bad and it's pretty buggy.
I haven't finished my first playthrough yet (at lvl 28), but I've been having fun with it. The gameplay is very much like previous games, with some added niceties like multiple action skills per character, weapon alt modes, and climbing ledges. The menu can be a little slow but not game breaking. I've only run into one progress blocking bug so far, and I found a workaround for it quickly enough. I agree the story is not very good, but there is still plenty of humor to be enjoyed.

Amazon also has the BL3 Super Deluxe Edition on sale for $75 ($100 - $25 coupon): https://www.amazon.com/Borderlands-3-Super-Deluxe-PlayStation-4/dp/B07Q6H83VY/

Compared to the regular edition at $33.74, you would be getting the season pass for $41.26 (retail $50) + the deluxe extras and steel case as bonuses. Not quite as good as the BB GCU pre-order for $80 + $10 back, but still a good deal if you want the pass.

Bestbuy has Megaman X collection for $15.99 with GCU, PS4 version only. I picked it up I store today at lunch.

It shows as a regular price drop to $19.99

I really hope some people pick up Control. It's a fantastic game, and Remedy is one of my favorite developers. They at least do stuff that's outside the industry norm, like Quantic Dreams (love them or hate them.)

Borderlands 3 is also worth every penny at that price. Got through the campaign and about to start grinding for loot soon.

I don't understand how Control was even made. I preface this by saying I'm a HUGE fan of Remedy and I've loved all their games except for Quantum Break.

But in all reality, they haven't had a hit since Max Payne 1 and everything else has just bled money. Their games are only for a very specific, tiny fraction of gamers yet they get these huge budgets they never come close to recouping. Do they have blackmail photos?

Decided to pick it up, I always loved the previous borderlands games so I'm sure I'll enjoy this too. It probably won't be much cheaper on Black Friday so might as well grab it now.

Also, control is really great. It's a bummer it didn't sell well. The game is very strange but it's a ton of fun to play. I'm betting it will be $20 on Black Friday though just because of the poor sales numbers.

blackmail photos of...yer mom! Just kidding.

I havent yet played control but undoubtedly will. I dont understand how their games miss because they're all fantastic in my opinion, even Quantum Break. Loved that game. You can say they're for a niche group but I dont think any more niche than a Sony single player. The only difference in my opinion there is they just havent hit pay-dirt on a franchise yet; hoping something gives because I'm getting nervous for them.

I’m going to be honest. I love Remedy and nearly all of their games. It’s just I don’t see them around much longer. Their games are far far more niche than a Sony exclusive mainly due to the fact they’re short, linear, single player only games with every story in the realm of the supernatural, with almost no re-playability . Things I enjoy but most gamers don’t, even with my enjoyment I would never pay full price for one of their games. There’s not enough substance for the $60 price tag. Compared to a Sony exclusive which is almost always open world, 60-80 hours, well made, and stories on par with Remedy games. Or an Xbox exclusive which almost always has a 6-10 hour campaign that’s really good, but then a huge online following giving you another 100 hours at least. I don’t know but I can’t imagine any more big budget games from them when they just don’t sell.

Control is my current GOTY. I hope it sold well enough that they continue to make single player narrative games. Sucks that every game has to have 50 hours of open world filler to get that $/hr mindset so ingrained in gamers now. Give me a tight story with a beginning, middle and end over repeating the same actions ad naseum on a lifeless map any day of the week.
