Absolutely tempting. Is it really that bad??
No.
It's not Ghost Recon, and that's why I enjoyed the game. It's a mix between Splinter Cell, The Division, and lastly Ghost Recon. The non issue over the micro transactions.. is just stupid. none of it works in MP, all of it can be found in game for free and 99% of it is skins. When a huge youtube reviewer does a 30 minute youtube video bashing the game and talks for 75% of it about MT... (yet fails to mention none of it effects MP, and you can take 5 minutes and find better gear that someone wasted $5 on) Thats the impression everyone else gets.
The game play itself is solid. Story is meh, but most games like this have a crap story anyway.
It's Ghost Recon Wildlands without the squad. That doesn't bother me, some people freak out that there is no squad to command, so it's not a "Ghost Recon" game. I see their point, but I also see that it really doesn't hurt the game to play without a squad.
Right now it's my 2nd most played game in the past 6 months.. and the game I played the most prior to that was The Division 2.
Anyway I enjoyed the Hell out of it, for $20 that's a damn good price.

Depends on who you ask? But due to lackluster sales i say many feel it is bad. Developers even sent out a survey for things people want in-game. Which I interpret as "Our game sucks, what can we do to make it better?"
Here is an article about the survey results

See I do not want the team mates.. I turned them off in Wildlands, which reminds me I need to go finish that game..

Still too much for this cat. I don't think this title was on many people's radar anyway. Too many bad reviews. If they were even thinking of dropping the price further, they should of hit black friday. Everyone is pretty well built their back-log up at this point.

I just finished up all the main and side missions the other day. Still had a bunch of uncollected blueprints and only made it through about 1/3 of the battle pass, but I'm done. Total playtime was around 90 hours, 100% solo.
It's basically Division crossed with Metal Gear Solid 5. I liked the gameplay in both of those, therefore I liked Breakpoint. It's that fun loop of infiltrating outposts, sneaking around and headshotting everybody, while being showered with loot that makes your numbers go up. Being able to freely jump around between the 4 classes adds much needed variety, although once you've cleared all the class challenges and filled out the skill tree in general, that feeling of progression hits a wall.
The main gripe I had in the end was that the in-game economy is extremely unbalanced. You're constantly running out of metal and grey, green, and blue weapon parts for the mark weapon upgrade system, yet you'll have literally hundreds of excess purple parts doing nothing for you (you could sell them, but the game makes it extremely difficult to do so since there is no way to sell multiples, you have to manually hold the button and wait for each single item to process).
Consequently, 80% of my shop expenditures were nothing but buying junk weapons just to immediately break down into parts. This meant that even after playing 90 hours, the only major purchase I was able to make was a rocket helicopter at the 80 hour mark. This also meant that I was rarely able to craft anything useful (e.g. mines), since many items inexplicably draw on the same metal resource pool that you need for upgrading your weapons.

Thanks for taking the time to write this—helps in getting a quick impression of the game (pros/cons).

This is nothing more than an unpolished division clone for the sake of being a looter shooter.

I do miss the old Ghost Recon games. Advanced Warfighter was the zenith of the series

Yeah, already returned this game from BB after thinking better of it. This will definitely either be free at some point or drop lower real fast. Not biting til $10.
