Best Buy DOTD: Jedi Fallen Order $39.99 on Both platforms

Who plays games for story now anyway? I still haven't finished the game and all I want out of it is a solid combat experience, which is sadly mediocre at best so far. Really struggling to force myself to finish it TBH.

At any rate, gonna get a refund on the Christmas gift I purchased for a friend. Explaining to a chat rep what GCU is might make me throw my monitor out the window though. . .

Man, it’s getting super difficult to pass this up. I’ve been waiting for it to hit EA Access, but the hype just won’t stop for it.

I think it's safe to say you're in the minority with this opinion.

No GCU, No Problemo.....

Get it on google shopping w/20% off code "Holiday19". Just bought one for ~$35....

I do. Without a good story I'm not as interested.

Sadly, I agree with you.

Was expecting much better combat since a good portion of the old GoW team worked on this, but it's really all flash and little substance. Pales in comparison to DMC5 or Sekiro.

Played this at a friend's place but feel no rush to pay top dollar for it. Will wait for $20.

Thanks for the heads up! Had a $5 rewards gift certificate + GCU for a total of $27 + tax. My 10 year old son actually beat the game in two days (we borrowed it from our local library), but he initially wanted it for Xmas so hopefully he still wants it! Otherwise, we can always exchange it.

Thank you, been wanting this game after a bit of a price drop. It looks like a fun game and its also a very easy platinum trophy. Came to $49 after tax and same day delivery fee. Took drunk to drive after work today.  Cleveland Ohio

Got my price matches on this and Death Stranding. Had to explain to the chat rep that the price match is based on the price of the game at the the time of purchase before any reward certificates were applied but it worked out in the end.

Library Video game check out? That a brilliant way to save!

People with longer attention spans than you.
Calm down, my son. The comment was directed at a now deleted post with story spoilers from a troll.

Got my ~$17 refund this morning making it about $22 before tax thanks to the $10 pre-order reward. Works for me!

Yeah, I noticed this deal on Jedi this morning looking for what was on sale.  Ordered it right away, $32 with GCU was my price point.  Wanted something to give the new upgrade to XB1X a good workout.

Is this a joke post or are you just slow?

Called and got the adjustment no problem.

Put the game on an SSD if you can, those loads can last. Thankfully falling to your death is instant respawn.

Combat in every game pales in comparison to DMC5.

-Sees that Target has the game for $44.99 (same price as GS).
-Checks to see if BB has the same price so that I can get it cheaper with GCU.
-Sees that BB has it for $39.99, making it $31.99 after GCU.
-adds game to cart
-for some reason, checks CAG.
-sees post above asking if the price is good for only one day.
-checks cart and sees that price has been raised to $44.99...

fuck

Welp, that's what you get for being a kings fan.... besides, $30 is too much for the game.

Library Video game check out? That a brilliant way to save!
My local library (here in the Boston, MA area) has a TON of games and usually has many copies of new titles and each library card holder can borrow two games for up to two weeks. They are part of a network of libraries (40 libraries from surrounding towns), so you can use the app to look up a game and request it for pick up at your local library (if your local doesn't have it available). It's great and has saved us a ton of money on buying games over the years.

the game is good, i would give it a solid B+; but we expect more, I was hoping more for a solid A.
(just finished it this last weekend)

I was hoping for more of an uncharted star wars 1313 experience; but this game is an ok substitute.    There are moments of cinematic excitement followed by mundane gameplay and uninspired creatures to fight.   The boss fights are ok.     There is an epic moment at the end for sure.     The story held up somewhat, but was also generic enough to not be too big of a deal for canon or not.

Uncharted moments for me are about 4 of them; was hoping for me.   decent.   I'll go back to playing uncharted and tomb raider.

I was in Best Buy an hour ago and it was listed at $39.99

Reason Uncharted works so well is because character development isn't forced on us, Nathan, Elena and Sully just live in their world and react to events. It's a comedy sketch a la Indiana Jones so when important events happen, they're impactful. Jedi forces us to care, with forgettable characters and a boring point A to point B jaunt. I honestly don't understand reviewers when they score it on par with Uncharted or even a Souls game, the clear inspirations for this one when it clearly falls so far short.

Lol now I'm kind of glad my GCU ran out last week.  I totally missed this deal and that would have been worse if I still had GCU.  I'd still buy it at the $45 price if I had GCU.  Kind of frustrating that this game was totally immune to price drops until just after my GCU ran out though.  Oh well...

Hmmm.... It is still $39.99 at Walmart.  Tempting as a Christmas present for my son that I can also play ;).

Thanks for this! While I totally missed the DotD, I was able to get it for $35.99 using Google Shopping.

The bundles are worthless because a game is on sale?
No, but it devalues the code each time it goes on sale. So far it hasn't dipped so badly that there ended up being a better deal than what I got, but still stings since I originally valued the DX version at $50 (and the DX was just a cash grab; $10 for worthless skins since EA had to get their greed in somewhere).

So I broke down and got Fallen Order after seeing so many people going on about it.
I've only played a little bit of it so far...but I'm not as crazy about it as most seem to be.
Maybe because I recently finished another Souls like game ( Code Vein ) that was so amazing. Maybe it's too early, but the combat feels super slow and clunky

Afraid it doesn't get any better really. I've finally become accustomed to its clunkiness and just accepted that it won't ever be anything better than just mediocre. If it weren't for the fact I basically convinced myself that buying an X1X bundle with the game was a good investment, I'd have dumped the game long ago and moved on to Outer Worlds.
