Same for me.

OXM is going through a redesign over the next two months. They're also getting a new Editor-in-Chief, as the current one, Rob Smith, is moving up the chain at Future. Hopefully they'll work on getting more content in the magazine.

yeah me too, except for that smooth soundin bald guy, he seems to ruin each one whoever he is. I much prefer that squeaky soundin sidekick wombat.

Need a franchise that did well from PS1 to PS2? How about Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo, Hot Shots Golf, Metal Gear Solid, and WWF/WWE Smackdown? ;)

Not bad, thats why I say someone will have an answer, although Final Fantasy and Metal Gear started on the NES, which may just enforce your statement and make me look even more foolish :)

 Didn't Metal Gear start on the MSX? ;) I wonder how many PMs you'll be getting for the new friend search.

This morning I was looking through my iPod, trying to decide what to listen to and what do I see? Cheap Ass Gamer. I never listened to a CAGcast so this morning on my walk to class I listened to it. And I'm impressed. Now I have something to listen to tomorrow. Thanks CheapyD and Wombat, you make my life complete.

I wonder if these crazed CAGs will make a fan club called the " 'bat fans".

I will punch these people in the nose.

my dad taught me about game called "tune in tokyo" when he was younger. it was where you basically gave a girl a tity-twister and said the phrase "tune in tokyo"...

not sure if that had to do with anything. i'm just gonna shut up now.

Listening now. Have to agree with Wombat on King Kong. I saw some kid playing the demo at my local FYE. The screen looked absolutely incredible, but then after a few minutes I started wondering what else King Kong was supposed to do.

Edit: Just finished, and it was entertaining as usual. Except Cheapy, don't ever rap again. Or whatever that was you were doing with the DS there. *shudder* ;)

Best two PS1 -> PS2 franchises I could come up with:
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
Spider-Man

(Sure, Spidey has had VG adaptations ever since the Atari 2600 - I used to own it! :) - but the 3D, Activision version on Playstation was the one that launched the superhero genre. Then again, all the movies didn't exactly hurt either.)

Tony Hawk definately started on the original Playstation, though.

Edit: Resident Evil's still doing Okay as well.

Just my opinion but do they keep geting longer every time? 45 min for me is to long--I'd vote for 20-25 min each week.

It was good but I'm sick of you guys talking about the 360 and wanted some industry news disscussions. Maybe next time. Oh and go pick up Shonen Jump Superstars CheapyD. It is SSBM with anime characters for the DS.

Game series that carried over from PS1:

Final Fantasy
Gran Turismo
Medal of Honor (for one game)
Metal Gear Solid
Resident Evil
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater (at least 3 and 4)
Twisted Metal

Final Fantasy and Metal Gear were both previously standing franchises. I wouldn't count them.

I agree. I just throw this and ChatterBox on an MP3 player and listen to it while cleaning up. That usually affords me about 90 - 120 minutes between the two. Keep it up.

What about these:

Crash Bandicot
Spyro the Dragon

They were started on the PS1 and carried to the PS2. I know they aren't the best of platformers but they are series that moved from one to the other.

Wombat mentioned those. They suck ass now, so they don't count.

Haven't listened to the CAGcast but understand your point about their suckage.

CheapyD seemed to talk kind of slow. If it is because of the time in Japan I recommend drinking something with a lot of caffeine before the show.

Cheapy, Wombat, I want you to know that your CAGcasts are being listened to in Iraq. They help me keep a grip on the goings on back home. For that, I thank you.
Good podcast. I like the longer shows and I thought the audio quality was suprisingly good.
I like 30-45 minutes generally. Gaming Steve goes on for 2+ hours sometimes and that's just too much. The audio quality is great. No echoes, dropouts, or tinny-sounding voices.

I thought the $10 extra was actually because Microsoft had increased the licensing fee. Is that not true? Is it the same price to license a game on Xbox as Xbox 360?

Tune in Tokyo... that was from some 80's movie... some guy grabs a girls breasts and says...that I can't remember the movie though.... :)

I listen to these while I'm working so the longer the better.

And I just looked at my DS manual and damn, thats a shit load of warnings.

here is a scan of the DS as nunchucks

You can just listen to half of the show.

In reply to PS1 carryovers. Resident Evil is a big one, Gran Turismo, and Tekken. But of the platformers (which the PS1 had many of), Tomba, Klonoa, Crash, Spyro, MediEvil, none of them made a splash (or even a move) to the current gen. But the PS2 did fine without the old names, Jak, Ratchet and Sly filled out the position nicely. I can't wait to see what platformers the PS3 has.

Great CAGCast once again. I cant believe how good this show is, keep it up!

Solid cast as usual. I liked the rip on OXM regarding all of the ads. I was going through it and was like, "there isn't much in here to read." I don't usually get OXM though so I thought maybe that was just characteristic of the magazine in general.

Good cagcast and I realized one other thing. Wombat doesnt like video games .... well aside from half life of course lol.

Every other sentence is wellll, not my thing really or ive never even played it... Cmon now Wombat, you gotta do us some justice here...

I always knew there was something fishy about that guy......

Actually I love games, I'm just very peticular. For the record I love RE4, Jade Empire, anything with Zelda in the title, 2d Castlevania games, Doom 3, Super Mario anything, Burnout 3 and 4, and many many more.

I just can't get into Japanese Style RPG's, I'm not saying they are bad, just not for me.
