Cheap Ass Anime Figures

Make sure you know who you are buying from. A lot of places sell Hong Kong bootleg figures....(Yes, they do exsist)

If you're buying them for collections, go with the state-of-the-art stuff.

After they released the Serge and Lynx Chrono Cross resin figures, the prices on them skyrocketed. Their other stuff will probably do the same. I think they also make the big Highwind replica I've been wanting for years.

If you ask around, people will tell you what places to avoid. Then theres eBay, just take the neccessary precautions and ask the seller personally, you should be well off.

HobbyLink and AnimeGamers look like two very good sites. I didn't even know they made HK figures. All I know is that I hate when the image on the site shows the figure perfect and when you get it the colors aren't right or the face looks a little different. I prefer buying figures from local stores but they don't have all the figures that I want.

Yep, and they look like garbage. You can't really cheap out on figures.

I second HLJ, but defintely consider using EMS shipping over SAL- SAL is crazy-slow and prone to being lost. EMS comes with bulit-in insurance and sig confirmation- plus, they deliver at off-times too. Last EMS box I got came on New Year's Day- which was not only a holiday, but a Sunday. I was stunned.

Also try freebento.com, akadot.com, and... crap, I can't spell it. I'll get it in a second...

Edit: Ningyoushi.com. And jbox.com. And if you're looking for something rare-ish, you could try using Yahoo Japan auctions, coupled with a deputy service. (Although I haven't done that personally, I know people who do get nice deals that way.)

You should really only use those third-party bidding services (Rinkya and Celga) if you're really desperate. Those crazy fees can really add up and if the seller screws you over, you just lost a whole lot of money.

It's best just to find a nice person in Japan to bid for you.

Anyone know of websites that actually sell the Trigun action figures for less then $50? Especially Gazzelle The Peacemaker?
