What is your pet peeve in some of your video games?

when they have collectables, but i cant get the last one or two cuz its too damn hard and im an impatient person

....must....get....100%....

I've been noticing it more and more, but I hate that beeping/ heart beat noise when your lifebar is close to empty. It gets so annoying sometimes that you'll just commit virtual suicide to stop hearing it.

I second the collect-a-thons. It works in some games when the ideas are fresh like in SM64 but now it is played out...

Lava/Ice levels (obviously)
RPG fights you cannot win
Crates filled with ammo/health/etc. (Why can't they come up with something new?)

Just to name a few.

Instant death [lavapits, falling off bridges] especially when the camera work isn't that good.
Awkward save schemes--I just started playing Maximo GtG, and this is one pretty bad save method. I hated Resident Evil's.
Games where you have to play more than 30 minutes or one hour before being able to save again [There are certain exceptions to this, but if a game consistently doesn't let me save {if it's a save-type game} for over an hour, I probably won't be playing it that much, because that's not very convenient for me].

Video/movie scenes that don't have subtitles, especially when the sound for the video is mastered lower than the game sound/music effects.

That's it for now.

with current generation games, the camera is not where it should be far too often.

also, in the future could you please attempt to put things in the correct forum? this is not a non-gaming deal nor a request for one.
Not being able to skip a cutscence especially after you die and you have to watch it over and over again.
I've been playing Spider-man 2, and it really annoys me that one can skip the story related cutscenes, but not the randomly generated mission cutscenes. If you've seen one armored truck get robbed, you've seen them all.

i have a couple, but they have already been mentioned:

1. Bad camera angles
2. not able to skip cutscenes (in case u already beat the game before)

Some of these have been mentioned, but here are some of mine:

-Not being able to skip a cutscene
-Having no alternative way to get important information from an accidentally skipped cutscene
-Checkpoint systems that require replaying ultra-easy but time consuming segments each time you fail on a hard one.
-Low health noises or (especially) controller vibrations. I never knew Halo did this until I got my subwoofer. With that game's shield system, it's possible to have low health for quite a while.
-Puzzle games that try to incorporate a bogus story when they don't need to. I just bought Mojo! from CC. It's a fun game, but I don't care if I'm supposed to be some heroic and mystic magic marble from space or whatever. Zoocube, too.
-Difficult games that don't allow a quick restart after failure. I never got many gold medals on Rogue Squadron II because it would have been too tedious to restart missions again and again.
-Loading and transitions to or from cutscenes when they completely kill any sort of atmosphere that has been developed.
-Any game where the illusion of reality suddenly falls apart. I like Prince of Persia: SOT, but the final few blows of the last battle should be a cutscene. If the player doesn't finish him off quickly, he will stand there forever until he's struck. It's hard to suspend disbelief when that happens.
-Frustrating escort missions. I like the concept of protecting something/someone and being a hero, but sometimes it can get really ridiculous.

I hate games that tell you that your memory card is full but won't take you to a screen that lets you delete anything off your card. Especially if you're at a part where you have to save.

Then you have to eject the disk, go the card screen and then delete some stuff, insert the disk and then proceed to play. Just a PITA.

-Load times
-Excessive random battles (I'm only trying to go 10 feet and I get attacked 4 times, man that must be a shady part of town)
-Games that take up too much memory card space
-Games that most people love but are actually no fun (ninja gaiden, the entire final fantasy series)

There's a ton more I'm a pretty irritable person

Escort missions. God how I hate escort missions. Just let me survive, don't make me protect some big ass convoy that dies in 10 hits and is automatically targeted by every enemy that appears.

Cheap gimmicks like half naked bicycle riders, immensly disproportionate breasts and asses on female game characters, and lesbian sexual innuendo. Clearly a sign of a weak storyline/gameplay.

Are you trying to say that Tomb Raider games don't have the best storyline ever? ...And I used to respect you as a Mod.
