a use store by me is going out of business, and i was thinking of buying some of their n64 games

they have a lot of games i recognize, but i don't know the value of most of the games

which games are valuable with cart and box? he said it is hit or miss with manuals.

Depends what you mean on "valuable". I know Super Smash Bros. and Paper Mario go for about $25, and those are some of the most expensive I've come across. Then again, I'm not a big N64 dealer. And box/manual should make any game more valuable, unless it's a crappy sports game.

Factory sealed Paper Mario and the Zelda gold editions fetch a high price. Also The New Tetris and Dr. Mario titles can get up there in price too.

Ogre Battle 64, StarCraft 64, Harvest Moon 64, and Worms:Armageddon are some others

Here are the top 6 rarest N64 games

Bomberman 64 The Second Attack
Worms Armageddon
Conker's Bad Fur Day
International Superstar Soccer 2000
Clay Fighter Sculptor's Cut
Ogre Battle 64

Conker's Bad Fur Day is rare? I got it for $1 at TRU in the big sale at the end of 2004, and they had tons of them.

ISS 2000 was not released in the U.S. We only got ISS 64 and ISS '98.

Besides what was already been listed, I'll add all Mario Party Games - especially #3, Yoshi's Story, Gauntlet and Mario Kart as hard to come by.

Any Mario n64 game

Any ISS game

Killer Instinct Gold

Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine

Harvest Moon 64

Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon

Monopoly 64

Conker's Bad Fur Day

The New Tetris

Hopefully this helps. These are the ones that are getting the most money on eBay currently, but are definitely not the rarest games. If you want to know some of the rarest n64 games, look over at digitpress, which has a pretty accurate guide.

Mystical Ninja Staring Goemon is rare? My brother's friend gave it to my brother for free! I love that game. I have to get it from my brother so he can't sell it. I probably wouldn't play my N64 if I didn't have it. Well, I have OoT, but I don't play that much.

Their's two Goemon games for the N64. The side scroller is harder to find than the the 3D platformer.

I think Clay Fighter 63 1/3 Sculptor's Cut is the most rare. Wasn't it some kind of Blockbuster special. However I don't think it goes for alot of money.

Hydro Thunder used to be valueable. Not sure if it still is though.

Stunt Racer 64 and NFL Blitz 2001 are both rare but not valueable. They were blockbuster exclusives as well

Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon may or maynot be rare but it goes for good money on ebay. Rarity? Who cares about that. It's resell value that is important here.

Make a list of the games the store is selling... hit ebay and look at only completed listings for each title. That'll give you a rough idea of what they go for.

I had no clue clayfighter was valueable I got that bitch when I was a kid and left it in a box ever since. Didnt think too highly of the game, thats for sure. I still have it, in the box, with the art. 63 and 1/3 is automatically crazy priced now and I have a gem. Well, I guess something comes out of the game. As for Conkers. I have heard legends, it better be good when I actually get to the end, but I just as of today, april 4th 2009 got the game, and for what price? Ebay says out of the box, no art, its worth 44-133 dollars, but I got it for 2 bucks. You heard it right, 2 dollars. Its almost mint too. 2 fucking bucks. I paid 7 bucks and got it with quake II. Crazy how the world works.

I think you might be legally retarded.

Conker's Bad Fur Day had LOTS of copies out there, many of which were clearenced out. It is not even in the top 20 rare games.

Stunt Racer 64 is the rarest. Clean, sticker free copies are tough to come by because it was a Blockbuster exclusive and almost every copy was covered in rental stickers.

There were many other Blockbuster exclusives...

-Stunt Racer 64
-Clay Fighter 63 1/3
-Razor Freestyle Scooter
-NFL Blitz -- Special Edition
-Transformers Beast Wars Transmetals
-Indiana Jones & The Infernal Machine (almost for sale from LucasArts.com)

I would not recommend to anyone using RarityGuide.com as the only information they have that is accurate is stuff stolen from other, better rarity guides like Digital Press. For the more modern stuff that isn't covered by Digitpress, they basically just guess. They have Banjo Tooie ranked as rare. A game that recieved a fairly wide release with hundreds of thousands of copies put out into the public.

I hate to keep picking on RarityGuide.com but they keep pitching their website when their information could NOT be more inaccurate.

I think there needs to be clarification regarding the difference between rare and valuable ... the OP was initially asking about games with worth, but then came talks of rarity, and now tempers are flaring, our pet's heads are falling off etc etc.

I see... so if a value is accurate, it is "stolen", and if it is inaccurate, then it is a "guess". Guess we cannot win.

Hate to disappoint you but none of the information there is "guessed" or "stolen" from anywhere (and i'd appreciate it if you do not make false accusations). Also if you had bothered looking around the site you'd realize our rarities are not based solely on copies produced but on other factors such as supply and demand. I'm trying to help members with the values of their items. Instead of replying by bashing our guides, why not say how much you think the games are worth (thats what the posters are looking for)?

Anyway am not going to argue with you on this board since we have our own forums and process for constructive feedback. And I'll continue offering my opinion on what games are worth (and I respect anybody who disagrees and suggests an alternative value)

If it's based on demand then it's not really 'rarity' is it?

I know, it's easier to look at Ebay and round off then it is to do actual research on what's rare and what's not, but call it like it is. It's not rarity.

And back on topic, to answer the OP's questions, the rarest games are:

Bomberman 64 The Second Attack (92%)
Worms Armageddon (91%)
Transformers: Beast Wars Transmetals (89%)
Clayfighter 63 1/3: Sculptor's Cut (82%)
Harvest Moon 64 (81%)

That's a fair question. We factor in many values such as popularity, demand, age, and collectibility (this is explained in our FAQ).

Also quoting a member from member whom I think put it well in a thread in our forum discussing the same thing , in this case explaining why a FF7 mispring is considered "Rare" even though there are many of those misprints out there...

The abundance of a certain item is not the only factor in the RarityMeter rating of this website. If you read the faq I think you'll see an explanation on how Rarity is deteremined. It includes a lot factors, among others popularity, demand, age and collectibility. I certainly wouldn't want the rarity to be determined solely on how often an item shows up on Ebay.

Let me illustrate with an example. Might be a little extreme, but it shows the point:

Let's say you pick up your pencil and draw a stick figure on a small piece of paper. Is that piece of paper rare? I mean, your stick figure is unique because there's only one such picture drawn by you in the whole world. According to a very strict definition of rare, your stick figure might be extremely rare since only one copy exists in the whole world
eek.gif

But will anybody want to buy your stick figure if you put it on Ebay? It doesn't show up much on Ebay because there is only one. There are more copies of PS1 Final Fantasy VII Black Label Misprint then there are of your stick figure. So which should have a higher rarity, your stick figure or the PS1 Final Fantasy VII Black Label Misprint ?

Well your stick figure has no collectibility value and nobody will want it (unless in the future you become real famous). But the PS1 Final Fantasy VII Black Label Misprint everyone wants, so even if there is more of them in the market in a given time, there is also a lot more demand for them- so there's actually less of them in the market then your stick figure since for the FFVII demand exceeds supply. (does this make sense). In fact, I can guarantee you that most likely all those FF7 games you see on ebay will get snatched, faster then some other obscure game which noone wants even if it appears less in the market.

I can say that I've been using the rarity lists and price lists here for a while I've found the RarityMeter very accurate and reliable so far.

And yes, one can use Ebay and see completed values. And one can use our guide. Our guide is actually not based on Ebay either so values will often differ. Again, read the FAQ to see how we determine value.

Uhhhh, did you even check ebay? I wouldn't say that's even close to "automatically crazy priced".
You guys get really serious about the detials of your rare/ valuable games. Not that it's a bad thing.
It is when you don't have a clue what you're talking about and steering people in the completely wrong direction. This guy is naming Bomberman 2 for the N64 as the rarest game on the system. That is simply pants-on-head retarded.

Well, it depends on the price you're getting the for. Most places I find 64 games... at least around here in Central PA, only want $3-ish for them.

I've gotten a few like Mario Kart 64, Resident Evil 2, Castlevania and Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness that I could turn a profit on. I almost got one of the Mario Parties, but someone rented it and never returned it so all she had was the box.
