Both of my local GC stores got signage for a new 3/$15 Classic Plastic sale today, no official date, but will probably start either this monday or the following monday.

For those unfamiliar with the Classic Plastic sale, it covers Playstation 1, Dreamcast, N64, SNES, NES, Genesis, and Gameboy Color games.

Thanks for the update. Does this promo really ever end? Sure signs are not always up, but didn't they just have this sale 1-2 months ago?

After going tons of times the fist time around, I only went twice the last time. I'll probably pass this one for now, unless I happen to be around certain stores I like and of course have some $.

I'd check it out, but the only thing I'd really be interested in finding would be Ogre Battle 64 and there's probably a bigger chance of hell freezing over than that happening. When I was at my local Game Crazies for the last price drop, I noticed that most, if not all, of their PSX games were disc-only in plastic cases. Not worth bothering with, though I wouldn't mind Ogre Battle cart only.

Well, if someone can grab one, I'd send them $10 for it, or something.

I find what you said kinda ironic after reading your trading list...but I'll pick a copy up if I can find one.

*blink* I'm not following.

EDIT: 'Cause I'm so adamant about complete games? Well, if I could get Ogre Battle for $10, I'd be fine with paying even another $10 to pick up a copy of the manual. Still cheaper than eBay.
Didn't just have one a few months ago? I thought this was an annual sale.
not really.. it happened once then ended, came back for memorial day, now i'm pretty sure it might hang around a while so they can clear out old inventory and make room for PS3/Wii junk
ANyone had any luck finding FFVII non-GH for the past few Classic 3for$15 sales?
yup
GBA is still in it too right?
I don't think GBA was ever in it -- it's always been GB and GBC, but never GBA.

My old school collection was like an atomic bomb going off because of the last sale, the first one I ever checked out. I went to so many stores it was disgusting... can't wait to do it again!

Ogre Battle 64 is on the no special order list, so don't expect to see it (not that you won't, it's just 99.5% likely you won't).

GBA doesn't count either.

You forgot Sega Saturn games. They're also included. Many stores have disc only for the Saturn. You just have to ask for the list.
Phew! Here I was thinking Brian wouldn't be able to eat this month. Now it looks like he can!
Actually, I probably won't be able to take advantage of this one as much as I would like, I just bought out a Pawn Shop of all their current gen stuff. HOwever, I know of at least 3-4 stores in the south chicago burbs that have tons of good N64 stuff though (Lansing, Oak Forest, Evergreen Park, just to name a few) so you Chi-town guys have a chance this time around! But don't wait too long, I wont be broke forever!

Actually, you might have missed the news, but a week or two back, a group of astrophysicists and video game historians decided that the "Saturn" didn't have a big enough library of essential games to be considered a legitimate system anymore and was therefore reclassified "Video Game Console 1995-004357A"

Was Game Crazy even around during the PSone/N64 era? I'm just curious because if they weren't, I'd imagine there would be slim pickings (ie. no MGS, FF7-9, CC, Xenogears, etc.).

Gamecrazy is the only major chain that takes older games on trade so there's still lots of good stuff out there. For example, last night, some guy came into my local store and traded in the following: Suikoden II, Suikoden I, Tales of Destiny II, Vandal Hearts II, Chrono Cross, Dragon Warrior VII, and Alundra. ALL MINT AND COMPLETE! Sadly, I only managed to snag the Tales of Destiny II and Chrono Cross (and only after about 20 minutes of haggling), the others went to the employees.

Holy fuck on a stick!

Game Boy Advance games are not part of this sale and never were and they probobly won't ever be till the sale includes ps2, gamecube, and xbox games. Look for this to happen in 4/5 years. Hopefully the managers in my area won't take it personally and limit me to 1 of each title. Hopefully they won't lie to me either when I ask them if they have this or that game as well. Also good luck dealing with new employees who have no idea how to ring you up as well. Then if they ring you up pray the dot matrix printer does't die half way through your reciept. Then have fun when kids ask you "wow are you really buying all those games?" - Oh what fun it will be!

I actually picked up all of those before in one store. Not at the same time, but still.

what I hate is that last time I found a pretty decent game but I couldnt find two other games to go with it. I didnt really bother because all the good games were cleared out so I doubt they had anything new now

I don't think we will see this deal hit as early as the OP stated. It will probably hit toward the end of the month or as close to the holiday shopping season as they can get.

My store got the signage too...

Makes sense.

I heard gamecrazy wasnt taking older games (older than ps2/gamecube/xbox) .. in order to make room for new stock..

Also the problem here is anything good (basically anything worth more than 5$) is snagged up by the employees first thing so there is no chance of ever getting anything good at a gamecrazy location around here, then the employees take the games and sell them on ebay for profit. I do not blame them for doing this as their jobs pay very little plus they have to deal with irate customers all day long, push used games as "play like new" and watch that awful training video (and they have to work on christmas as well if that doesnt put the icing on the cake!)....

I know that most stores are getting super selective about what games they take in (and rightly so) but I don't think that GC will ever completely stop taking them, thats one of the few things that they have going for them when compared to EbStop.
