Sig size

I already changed my sig once because of people complaining im keepin this one for a little while

actually, i think you're right. my cable is extremely fast. right now i'm using a laptop while i replace the memory in my desktop pc.
 
I've noticed images (mainly animated gifs) in some sigs are getting quite large (byte-wise). I know there was a pixel limit to the size of an image that could be used for a sig, but is there any restriction to the byte-size of a sig? If not, I think there should be for CAG'ers with slow connections/computers.
 
a still photo of the rapper would still be cool. why does it have to be animated? if you want to keep it up there, that's your perogative. it doesn't hurt to ask. :lol:

It runs on my Treo 600 phone without slowing things down. Looks rather foolish though. I’d be embarrassed to have that in my sig.
 
why don't you people just turn off sigs........i have sigs and avatars and whatever else there is all turned off so i don't have to see other peoples' crap and just get to read the posts without other stuff mixed in

If you're going to have an obnoxiously large sig, you might as well make it cool. It's just some idiot shaking his arms and looking like a dumbass. Besides, not everyone has cable, and when you post three times in one page that makes it almost 3 extra megabytes of crap the person has to download...

Really...doesn't even affect my old P3 550mhz with 192 mb of ram and dsl. But it does sound like its slowing peoples comps down, so I would take it down.

But to all those who think his sig is stupid, get over it. There are plenty of stupid sigs on this site, but no need to make someone change there sig because some people don't like it.

It's 932 KB, thats almost a megabyte, which is huge for dialup users. And now it's been posted five times in this page alone. I'm not trying to be nasty with you, you seem nice, but don't you think it would suck to have to wait 15 minutes for a page to load just to see some guy shaking his hands?

It's called consideration for others. It sucks when people just outright attack you, but somebody's gotta take the high road. If you respect the people who have helped you on this forum, do them the favor of killing an obnoxiously large sig.

And why should we cut off sigs instead of him changing his? I mean, really...the many versus the few. If he wants to exercise his right to a large sig, everybody else has the right to express their displeasure.

As for on topic...I don't quite believe TRU's going under quite yet...although I may be biased because i work there. Yeah, they're having to mix things up a bit...but we've needed to get rid of all this clearance junk for A LONG TIME. You'll be buying Christmas gifts at TRU this year...and next year...and I'd put money down the year after that as well.
 
and to the people saying just turn off sigs. Yeah, why should 30 people have to alter their settings because one noob won't turn off his looping rapper that slows down everything especially when he posts multiple times on one page. I have sigs on because people put links to their tradelists in them generally, and that is how I find trading opportunities.

You people are handling this the wrong way. Everyone just came out and said BigC's sig was stupid and pointless. Right there you insulted him and something he likes and you then expect him to comply with your demands? You don’t respect him or his culture. BigC, I understand you don’t want to change your sig out of spite but you should respect the wishes of the community. It causes problems for some so you should be considerate of others.

Agreed. I've seen one or two massive animated gifs in signatures lately. A simple picture is fine, but some of that animated shit is way overdone.
 
I'll agree with that, i don't want to turn them off because a lot of people have their trade lists in their sigs, it is just stupid and annoying to have full god damn movies playing as a signature.

Yeah, there is supposed to be a limit in place, but apparently the sig limiter is not working properly.
I'll look into it.

Not necessary...we have an automatic sig limiter, which apparently having a problem. It will be taken care of.
Give it a few days, please.
