The following thread are for niche-based Japanese video games by smaller companies such as Atlus, NIS America, AKSYS, XSEED, D3 Publisher, KOEI/TECMO, SNK Playmore, Ignition, Natsume or any sweet deals for those who are passionate and hardcore about Japanese video games even from the bigger companies like SquareEnix, Sega, Bandai Namco, etc.

But to avoid any messiness of links everywhere, we'll focus on games within the last 2-3 years as opposed to the last five-ten. [although, if you do see older titles on sale, please post them regardless].

The theme of these deals are Japanese video games distributed in the US by the smaller niche companies. The thread is literally for those who love Japanese games.
There will be a few Korean games that you may see on this list, such as the "DJ Max" games.

If you see a deal, please post!

NOTE: Please check the most recent page for the latest deals.

And I want to thank many of you in advance who submit their deals and their support!!!

Killer is Dead is 39.99 from Amazon on both platforms, if I order now, would I still get the first print goodies or is a new game only print out now? Would it just be wiser to hold out for a black friday deal?
It's possible, but impossible to say. I suspect you will and you're best off waiting, since Suda's games don't have a history of selling well.

Just a heads up that The Guided Fate Paradox is out tomorrow. I got my LE early and did an unboxing for it. The game is awesome, and I'm really enjoying it so far. It's definitely got the crazy Disgaea sense of humor!

The second link is a limited edition of the game. This is what google translate says it includes:

Limited Edition contents
jacket drawn, Hajime Katoki
"Cyber Troopers Virtual On Official Sound Data 4 × 6"
"Cyber Troopers Virtual On Chronicle 15" (maybe a statue?)
Thanks ended up ordering platinum hits.

I got the LE for Guided Fate Paradox and it is very nice. Soundtrack seems aight so far from what I've played of the game. Seems pretty fun and I'm a huge fan of rogue like games (can't wait for that Curry game for the Vita...woot woot). Controls are slightly wonky for me (mainly the functions with the right thumbstick....used for picking up, angel abilities, etc), and I really wish you could move with the left thumbstick instead of being forced to use the d pad (never was a fan of the ps3 d pad). Other than that i'm really enjoying it and the story is pretty cute. Seems like good old wacky NISA humor.

To me if it comes out for $20 it's so worth it.

If it came to Apple, AMAZING.

Id be addicted

Sweet, I'll have to consider picking this up, then. :D

Sega has announced that Hatsune Miku: Project Diva f is coming to NA on the Vita in early 2014. Here's the accompanying announcement trailer:

Is there any reason to own Project Diva F on Vita if I already have it on PS3?

Awesome news, the PS3 version is in my backlog.

We'll have to see if Sega will include any incentives to getting the Vita version, but otherwise the only plus is the ability to play on-the-go. The PS3 version actually has more content than the Vita version anyway.

Anyone know when Legend of Heroes : Trails in the Sky is coming to PC.

The firm has partnered with Carpe Fulgur to bring the title digitally to PC and PSP system, including compatibility with the PlayStation Vita in 2014.

The first chapter, previously released for PSP system as The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, will also be released for PC this winter, which marks the debut of the English version on PC, as well as the first release of the English version anywhere. The two chapters will release as two separate, back-to-back installments.

Not to be rude, but I can't find any deals in this thread. The top post says to check the most recent page. I'd love deals of this sort.
You're going to have to be patient. Considering the genre of games in this thread, it's rarely do we ever get any deals or discounts due to its niche nature. But Black Friday and Xmas season is coming up, so there's bound to be something. Also, Xillia will be $19.99 at Gamestop according to leaked BF info, so there ya go.

We mainly talk about niche games and when they release and if any deals.

I mainly use this thread to learn about when news games are coming out.

I think it's hard to find deals on niche games that have low inventory to begin with. While I think anyone would agree that deals on games are better than paying MSRP (the whole purpose of being a CAG), a lot of times niche games go out of stock before they see a price drop. I see the purpose of this thread to inform others of particular games that are releasing and likely to be out of print at some point in the near future.

Take Ni No Kuni WIzard Edition for instance. That thing sold out before it even released and it's impossible to find unless you want to pay way way above MSRP. I probably wouldn't have known about it if it wasn't for this thread. Another example is the Tales of Symphonia CE which some retailers have already stopped taking preorders. Deals do pop up here and there for certain older games but you will mainly see postings dealing with games that are soon to release or limited editions of said games.
