Have to save some space on my hdd

So it's a mini Square Enix sale for gold members?  Hmmm... I might pick up some DLC for Sleeping Dogs.  I already have Tomb Raider, but I do recommend that game.  Had a lot of fun with it and didn't mind the QTEs at all.

For Sleeping Dogs DLC, both Nightmare in North Point (125G) and Year of the Snake (100G) have achievements tied to them. I haven't played either, so I can't speak to the quality of their content.

Nightmare in North Point was pretty damn short, majority of the game relies on you getting gold medals doing  random challenges to extend the play through. It's not bad if you enjoy the game, but at that price you could do alot worse. Year of the Snake I enjoyed alot more and slightly more lengthy, partially due in part to cop side missions and getting new equipment and moves like being able to tackle people and hand cuff them which can transfer over the main game as well. It's also just fun tasing people, but among the two I'd say Year of the Snake is the one worth getting.

I'd consider Just Cause 2 if not for A. I have owned it on Steam for several years and still haven't played it and B. multiplayer just came out for the PC version.

Is anyone seeing SD as free on their console, or just on the site?

Since everyone's sounding off about their purchase list, I thought I may as well.

3 on 3 NHL
TWAU + season pass
Brothers
The Bridge (from the DoTW)

Things I wish that were on sale:

Mass effect 3 dlc
Contrast
Mine craft (no chance I know but I can dream 😝)

Jeez. Really tempted by Just Cause 2 as well. After seeing this on sale,I thought I'd check the disc version because I'm running out of space. But it's MORE expensive used at Gamestop and not available new. Did it somehow become rare?

Yay or nay on Just Cause 2?
It's at a tempting price but I have not played it (or 1) nor have I seen much of it.

P.S I'm assuming this sale will be up for the whole month or will it change when the game changes

Sleeping Dogs is easily one of my favorite games of this generation, I absolutely loved everything about it. I know I don't really have to sell anything since it's going to be a free download but I just wanted to say that it's definitely worth the hard drive space!

Apparently Capcom think more people do than Mega Man
WOW

Really? They would throw salt on the wound by putting Just Cause 2 on sale, it was the rumored free game for January lol. Well in Japan anyways.

Hmm. Probably would have grabbed Just Cause 2 but oh well. Sleeping Dogs will entertain me plenty, and ya never know about Just Cause 2 being a GWG title down the road, since I guess Sleeping Dogs / Guardian of Light  means Square Enix has entered the GWG fray.

Those are under the "Cross-Buy Enabled" section... to let people know what's cross-buy enabled on XBL (gaming related). Just because ACIV:BF's Season Pass went on sale doesn't mean the other cross-buy enabled content will be discounted any time soon.
that's confusing as hell to be honest, did I miss the same on BF4 Premium or is it coming up? lolol Not really sure how to interpret your statement :p

Are you saying that is only listed to emphasize that you can buy it on one system and it works on the other (nothing more?).

Correct. No sale indication whatsoever.

Also, shouldn't be confusing as it's clearly in a completely separate part of the page.

The only good Sleeping Dogs DLC is not on sale.  The Zodiac Tournament Pack --  plays out much like a video game version of Bruce Lee’s Enter the Dragon, right down to the music, Wei Shen’s attire, and the fake film grain on the cinematic sequences.  In short, if you a Bruce Lee fan like hand to hand combat, this is the best of the DLC.

Year of The Snake and Nightmare in North Point are both excellent/hilarious. I really loved the Zodiac Tournament, but that's like a one-sitting piece of DLC. Also irritating that it didn't have achievements.

Year Of The Snake is the biggest one. Its very funny (the intro especially), and quite good. Nightmare In North Point is a fun, but pretty quick. The Zodiac Tournament is great, but short and no achievements, also not on sale.

It's a damn fantastic game. One of my favorites of this whole generation.

Having loved the game I'd recommend it all, but maybe play it a bit first before makin a decision on DLC if you're on the fence. It was just a world I enjoyed so much that I wanted more when I was done, and the DLC scratched that itch.

For anyone getting Just Cause 2, there are three pieces of free DLC (parachute & two vehicles):

Chaos Parachute

Tuk Tuk Boom Boom

Chevalier Ice Breaker

Last time I posted, was before the sultan to grand vizier-styled changeover of the XBL deals thread. Good thing the magical girl princess, Microsoft, still drops bits of discounts for those of us on the 360. This thread is still my choice resource to find all the wonderful discounts even when recent posts should be narrated by James Earl Jones and Malcolm McDowell.

All the recent discounts has gotten me one step closer to closing the chapter on my spending for my 360. Instead of listing out my spoils from the recent discounts (I basically bought every discounted item), it is actually easier to list what remains of what I had wished dropped in price. On the XBLA front, I got all I wanted discounted except for Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara, Death Tank, Galaga Legions DX, and Pinball Arcade. I gained lots of DLC as well the last few weeks finally filling in the gaps on the games I owned, but I'd hope more of the missing content I lack would see a discount through the countdown such as all the Mass Effect DLC, Bioshock Infinite season pass, Forza 4/Horizon car packs, all the Otomedius Excellent DLC, or the many costume packs of Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate to go with the game that was discounted, amongst all the other DLC I still desire.

Speaking of DOA5U, my 360's future in 2014 still has stuff for me. Such as the upcoming DLC for the new character on the aforementioned Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, she's 18 ... yep, 18 ... they said so, lets go with that ... 18. For us cheapasses, remember Squiggly will be free initially for Skullgilrs Encore. Above all I really want the new DLC for Phantom Breaker: Battlegrounds. I'm also hotly anticipating the new Strider on XBLA, since I love the character and earlier games. Also the XBLA game Super Time Force looks radical as well. During the past sales, I've always erred on getting a physical copy opposed to digital because of my lack of storage space on my 360, so I'll probably opt for Ultra Street Fighter 4 on disc instead of DLC addon. In 2014, maybe some crowdfunded titles which hit a 360 stretch goal like Mighty No.9, Cryamore, and Pier Solar HD can extend my time with the 360. Of course I hope fighting games like Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-, and BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma to land on the 360 since I still lack any of the newest consoles (but I've got a decent PC rig to tide me down).

At this point, it is kind of difficult for Games with Gold to hit a title that's is in that special place of a Venn diagram that's both "something I want on the 360" and "something I do not have yet on the 360" (such as GonD Operation Darkness). I already have both titles offered for January on the 360 (and on PS+), but I know the games are quality. So it's nice to see Games with Gold is getting more contemporary offerings which should appease many. The surprise Square-Enix sale at this time doesn't appear to offer neither the Hitman: Absloution nor Tomb Raider DLC which I've not seen on discount on the 360 before (opposed to the DLC for Sleeping Dogs and Just Cause 2 which had discounts before) and I'd hope they'd get offered to round out the surprise. Also a new month means potentially some new Xbox Rewards offers as well. Keep up the great work and thanks to everyone on the wiki OP, I look forward to more deals, and thanks for continually keeping me informed.

All the discounts has revealed some insight on myself, and I realize I may have more fun buying games these days than I do playing them. My work robs me of my desire to play videogames lately. Coupled with the disappearance of the Weekend Achievement Challenges, I just don't know what to play now. My new year's resolution involves playing through 2 games on the 360 in 2014 (there's many other backlogs for other systems too), but I just do not know which to play after all I've gotten. I would appreciate if you can click on the image in my signature of this post, then send me a message on the 360 or CAG to place a vote for a game I own that I've not played through yet (they are easy to spot).  New Year's is fast approaching in my part of the world, so happy new years to all.

[EDIT: sorry for some repeat links of posts past, my work has robbed me of having more related videos to hotlink @_@]

Sweet, picked up Just Cause 2, last purchase of the year!

My haul was:

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Femme Fatale Pack DLC ($0.99)
X-MEN ($4.99)
Soul Calibur II HD Online ($9.99)
Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection ($2.49)
3 on 3 NHL Arcade ($1.24)
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons ($4.94)
Charlie Murder ($3.29)
The Wolf Among Us Season Pass DLC ($10.04)
Just Cause 2 ($7.49)

Kind of is. About $45 for the 360 version. Play it for a couple months (think the offer expires in March) and then upgrade for $10. Think of it as a very long rental plus a new game.

Time to get Windows 8 and/or Xbox One
I have win 8 but bought for 360.. it was still cheaper.

I will throw in a last-minute recommendation for I Am Alive.

One of my favorite games of the last few years. While it definitely shows the scars of a AAA game that became a downloadable, the writing is good and the sound is outstanding - which is usually overlooked in games. The game creeped me out a few times.

I haven't been keeping up with what I've been buying during the holiday sale. Looking at the list now, it's pretty underwhelming. Mediocrity at it's finest.

Zombie Apocalypse

The Bridge
Feeding Frenzy 2

SOULCALIBUR II HD

Freefall Racers

Happy new year!

Hmmm as predicted, Sleeping Dogs dlc on sale. Blood Money could've hit lower for being older.

Maybe I'll bite since I tried that free xbl 1 month trial. Btw, anyone know why when I clearly cancel auto renewal and set it to off, it states changes won't take affect until expiration and upon going back to verify, on is still selected?

Am I missing something simple here? Trying to cancel auto renewal too quickly after activating the code?

I bought Blood Money when it was $60 (stupid, I know.. could've waited a month and gotten it nearly half price) but I honestly think it's worth it at 8 bucks. It's a great game. I didn't like some of the changes they made to the system (plays more like a Splinter Cell game) but overall it's a fun experience and it's nice to get a change of pace from other types of games.

I already own Sleeping Dogs, great game as everyone else here said but never got the DLC. It being half off is enough incentive to play this again. Just wish The Zodiac Tournament was half off as well. As fun as it looks, I watched a walkthrough, and at $5, its way too short.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

I haven't bought many digital games over the 360 life span because I prefer disc copies of games but between games getting delisted and my stack of MSP I decided to go all out.  This generation is starting to end and what a time to have amazing sales for all genres of gaming.  MS did a pretty good job catering to everyone, so the people who unfortunately didn't end up getting anything either have everything or are way too picky.  I'm pretty happy with this month's sales being the first time I participated, I even bought dlc which I'm not very fond of, and I even have points left over so I can pick up Ultra Street Fighter 4 next year!

Everyone enjoy your games and people who didn't end up getting anything this year, look forward to the free games (WAU1, SD, LC: GOL) and better luck next year!

Games and dlc I picked up this month:

Beyond Good & Evil HD

Brothers

Bully Scholarship Edition

Call of Juarez Gunslinger

Feeding Frenzy 2

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 + Value Pack

Zombie Apocalypse

Zombie Apocalypse: Never Die Alone

Zuma's Revenge!

Just Cause 2, Hitman and Tomb Raider all being on sale is a suprise.  JC2 is tempting at $7.50 and Tomb Raider is an absolute, no-brainer, steal at $9.99 (already had it and plan to get the upgrade on X1).  I hope MS keeps up these good sales into next year!

Off to download Sleeping Dogs..

Just a heads up, Call of Duty upgrade on the Xbox one means you keep both copies. It also keeps your stats across both titles. So you get it on both for $54 which is a good deal if you have friends that haven't made the leap to the one.

Xbox 360: Zuma's Revenge, Peggle + DLC, The Wolf Among Us (including season pass), Trials Evolution + DLC, UMVC3, Call of Juarez Gunslinger, Feeding Frenzy 2, Shoot Many Robots (Counts as a sale/special)

Very happy with the sale. Little mad at myself for not picking up a few more games. There was a lot of good stuff that I already had.

Wasn't a fan of Sleeping Dogs, but I was rushing the first time I played it. The DLC will be tempting while on sale.

Isn't Tomb Raider $20 GoD? I know it was close to or at $10 at gamefly or the Microsoft store this past holiday season.

If anyone figures out why that auto renewal thing for xbl wont stay checked off under subscriptions let me know!

I agree with everyone else who was disappointed with this year’s sale. I was only able to purchase twenty new games for less than $5 each when I should have been able to find at least 30 or more that were catered directly to my tastes. Hell, they should have given them to us for free because we’re such hardcore 360 fans. fuck you Microsoft.

They would have done better switching the daily deals with what they offered week-long. Then we would have had something to look forward to each day.

No shit. I started this sale with $140 in my MS account and I still have $7 left over. What the fuck man? No reason I should have any money left over at all...
