I didn't even realize GG had a refund policy. Actually I thought it was no refunds. I should actually read terms before accepting them. Yeah, like that'll ever happen. (Visions of South Park flash before my eyes.)

  • You can ask for a refund with no question asked within 14 days as long as the game has not been used.
  • A game is considered used when a download has been attempted, a serial number have been generated or the game have been gifted.

Daily Deal
75% off Epigenesis - Early Access (Steam) - $2.50
75% off Epigenesis 4-Pack - Early Access (Steam) - $7.50

ITAD historical low is $4.99 and $14.99 respectively. I don't know what this is, but I bought a 4-pack anyway.
From its steam page...

Epigenesis is an online multiplayer sports/FPS game in which two sides are locked in a never-ending fight for world domination by playing ball.

In this non-lethal ballgame of the future, players leap across platforms suspended high up in the air trying to get a ball located in the middle of the arena and score goals against their opponents. Each player carries a gravity cannon capable of pushing enemies (and friends) down from the heights of the arena.

When a player scores, he receives a genetically modified super-seed and gets the opportunity to plant it onto a platform to capture it. To win the game you must capture towers and construct a node system from your goal post all the way to your opponents' goal post. If this hasn't happened by the time that the clock reaches zero, the team with the most scores win!

Teamwork, tactics and precision is key to win eternal glory in a game of Epigenesis!
So a little like Monday Night Combat then?

Not much of a refund chance on a Steam code...

Just bought the Torchlight Pack.

Was weighing up whether to buy Torchlight 2 on its own. Figured, may as well get Torchlight as well and give it a friend.

Turns out that Torchlight is the DRM-free version. No steam key *sigh*

fuck yeah

The daily deal is Universe at War: Earth Assault.. some non-steam-version GFWL RTS game from 2007 I've never heard of for a buck more than GG had it in December (and that's before 20%er status).
I have that on my retail-game shelf.

Never played it - but it got a 77 on Metacritic.

Ever heard of WestWood Studios?

A bunch of Ex-WestWood dev's made that game at their then newly formed Petroglyph Studios.

They released the 3-disc sized OST for free download for UaW: EA, long ago.

Filefront has it.

Ever head of Dune II? The granddaddy of RTS. I played it a ton back in the day... I even have it installed on my phone (well, the OpenDune implementation).
Yep.

Don't have it, though.

Any good?

I normally don't play strategy games.

Even though I often do buy them if they get cheap and whatnot.

I'm looking for that strategy game to grace me into the genre - and then make me want to go into deeper and more hardcore strategy games.

Sorry I forgot to say it was a good game when I said I played it a ton back in the day and even have it on my phone.

I'd just like to take the opportunity to point out that my Avatar, butt cheek woman, is from the new Realms of Arkania.

That game gets my HOTTEST ASS MESS of 2013 award, and I have a ridiculous amount of games so that's saying something.

Seriously, even if you are curious, even at $5 don't. Just don't. Wait for it to be in a bundle and then laugh at how ridiculously awful it is while realizing it was much, much worse on launch.

For the record, I didn't forget anything. Those new items were put up for sale 3 hours after my post.

And currently the Civ games have glitched in the wrong direction.

Leave the excuses at home.

But fuck they have Forklift Truck - The Simulator!

Also they have this game called The Fall - Mutant City!!!! Sounds crazy! But then the guy on the picture looks like the guy from Planet Alcatraz (which sucks ass) and there's no screen shots!!!

Well, it seems like the game has come a long way through patches since the awful launch. The devs are also active on the Steam forum and seem like they intend to continue improving the game. I'm going to give it a shot for $5. Had my eye on it since the launch and I doubt it will be bundled or any cheaper any time soon.

Meh I still think they are polishing a turd and are completely unscrupulous for knowingly releasing the game the way they did. If you don't backlog it and actually play I'd be curious to hear your thoughts. Obviously those developers are trying to do damage control at this point on the forums there.

Yeah, I agree that the game never should have been released in the shape it was in or at least marketed as Early Access. I'll probably give it a good look when I get done with Might and Magic X. I did just load it up for a few minutes and I can say one thing, the narration is probably the worst voice acting I've ever heard. I very rarely turn off voiceovers but he was off within 5 minutes.

Supposedly the German voiceover is better and that is their native language. Agreed the English VO is putrid and I'm usually pretty tolerant of bad English Voiceovers from playing other Euro stuff like Topware and Kalypso. Maybe they should have left the VO in German and subtitled in English. :p Actually, it was in German on launch both text and voiceover. They didn't bother test the English version at all before handing it off to Steam.

Not only that, but recently GG has forgotten how many hours are in a day.

Expires in 1 days, 16 hours, 29 minutes and 8 seconds

Happened with Condemned as well. Next thing will be month long weekly deals.
I guess now the Oops Sale now happens w/ time periods, instead.

= "shall not exceed" ;)
I know but they show a picture of a newer highly sought after game with that notice and you go there to check and then it's all bait and switch hopes deleted.

Also there have been a couple of instances where there actually was no 75% off game, though I guess it ended up that there was in another region but it doesn't show up for my region. And they have done those lame raised the MSRP to some crazy amount and then mark it down things. There's wiggle room in the "up to" language but GG has done some funky things at times that really stretch that wiggle room.

I agree completely... however I take it even further... with GG's MSRP shenanigans... I mostly just look at price on GG anymore (if I want to figure %-off I check steam's msrp).

Daily Deal
75% off AI War Four Year Anniversary Edition - $4.25

  • AI War Ancient Shadows (Other DRM)
  • AI War Light Of The Spire (Other DRM)
  • AI War: Children of Neinzul (Other DRM)
  • AI War: Fleet Command 7.0 (Other DRM)
  • AI War: The Zenith Remnant (DRM Free)
  • AI War: Vengeance of the Machine (DRM Free)
These should still activate to Steam, though it's optional if you wish to do that. I bought all of them except Vengence of the Machine, which is the latest, from GG a while back and they did activate to Steam. Arcen tends to take their existing keys and have Valve retroactively add them to their database.

Anyway Arcen's been making the rounds in bundles lately so I'm sure you can get it cheaper, but just putting that out there.
