This thread will maintain a list of all current and upcoming sales and markdowns on the Xbox Live Marketplace / Xbox Games Store for the USA.  YMMV in other regions.  If non-US sales are listed, they will be marked with their applicable region(s).

Please note:

  • You cannot currently buy any Xbox 360 content on xbox.com using your account balance, you can only use an active credit card or PayPal. To use your balance, you must make purchases on your console.  Unfortunately, even "purchasing" free content through the web site like trials requires an alternative method of payment tied to your account, though adding an empty MasterCard / Visa gift card that is registered for online purchases will work.  Xbox One games can be purchased on the web site with your account balance, but DLC cannot.
  • Some sales are intended for Gold subscribers only, as noted within each section.  This requires being a paid subscriber or within a console-activated "1 month complimentary Gold trial" account.  Neither 48 hour trials, 14 day trials nor free weekends qualify.
  • All known sales and information on sales should make their way into the OP. Major Nelson usually updates his blog with new sales information every other Tuesday.
  • ALL OFFERS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE! No information within this thread can or should be construed as accurate (or still valid), therefore ...
  • Always verify Xbox Live Marketplace prices before your purchase!
  • Spend wisely, have fun, and enjoy!

If I'm not mistaken this may be the first time Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet is on sale. If you like Metroid-vania type exploration games with amazing animation and style then it's an easy 3 bucks.
The one thing I didn't like about it is that the 100% achievement includes the intro area that you cannot revisit after you're done with the tutorial, so I beat the game before I realized that I missed a bit in that area.

Did anybody else notice there is a free "English Language Pack" for Hitman Absolution? It says it adds the option to access the original audio recorded for the game. I was really confused at first, but then I saw the little Union Jack on the download screen, so it must be "England English" (OG English?). It's 1.36 GB though :(

I'm baffled, The Walking Dead pretty much assured them incredible visibility and sales for whatever game they do, and they keep on making "identical" episodic games: same engine, nearly unchanged gameplay, and there's pretty much always the same glitches and issues the previous episode or saga had. Let that be save troubles, freezes, stuttering, or issues with buying the new eps. Mind you, I bought multiple sagas by Telltale and I'm not hating on them, but given the sales and visibility they got lately, they could spend a bit more time and effort on making games and episodes that... you know, work well. One would think that with such an old engine, the issues you had years ago would be fixed in a new game. But nope. Hell, I remember the stuttering issues being present in Sam & Max, and they're still around in The Wolf Among Us. Good thing they can pull off rather amazing stories to keep me hooked, because they sure do their worst when packaging things :p
Yeah, totally agree with this. I'm hooked on the story of TWAU just like I was for The Walking Dead, but I thought that the engine problems with TWD would be addressed in future games. If anything, the stuttering and freezing is worse. It's really disappointing. I haven't bought TWD Season 2 yet and I'm thinking about just skipping it.

Am I thinking straight or was there some Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet DLC that was free during the Oman wars? I'm away from my Xbox but I'll have to check on that later. And to correct the person who said it's never been on sale, it was on sale for $7.50 a couple years back but yes it's hardly ever on sale so this is definitely a good buy especially at that price.

I didn't enjoy TWD at all. There were a few parts I kept getting killed because of this. While there is more in TWAU, I haven't died from it yet, so I'm not sure if I am ready to call it worse. Jurassic Park had no stuttering and freezing for me.

thats for people that have lets says the german version and want to hear the english voice acting, You don't need it if its in english the english voices are the same

Played the demo for Far Cry Classic. Does the actual game have checkpoints or a save feature?  Even on easy, this game is hard and annoying to restart from scratch whenever I die .

Yes, it has checkpoints. However it still can be frustrating. I'm thinking about taking a weekend to just play old school style shooters. Newer ones have made me soft.

Can you make purchases that use your remaining balance of MS points and your credit card for the rest? Or does It have to be all of one or the other?

Just beat Islands of Wakfu.  I'm surprised it didn't get a little bit more hype on release.  It was really good looking and reminded me a lot of Bastion, sans the narrator.  The combat really wasn't all that bad (though it could have been better with weapons) and it was a pretty unique game.  The story was awful though.

Anyways, on to Warhammer 40K Kill Team.

I did it! I FINALLY DID IT! I beat the main quest in Oblivion! I'm the Champion of Cyrodiil!

6/2/2007 to 4/9/2014. 7 years in the making. Feels good man.

Idk what's worse. You taking 7 years or the fact that I put 120 hours into that game in less than a month. I hardly enjoyed the DLC cause I was so sick of the game and just wanted to be done with it. That game is the reason I take a break between the main game and DLC content.

I know what you mean. I did that with Fallout 3 and Skyrim, and I haven't touched the DLC for them yet. Oblivion has just taken me forever...mostly because I restarted it on every platform it was on, and kept taking long breaks from it. I decided it was time to finally beat it a few months ago.

Now for all the side quests!

Bit more bad news in regards to Rock Band. The 20 free songs that you could redeem for free if you purchased Rock Band 2, are no longer available to download via the activation code on the insert. The page for redeeming is now dead. Seems like HMX was caught off guard on this as they posted the page no longer worked on Friday. So if you didn't redeem the code on the insert of Rock Band 2, you ain't never gonna get these songs(if you redeemed it once, you can always re-download).

  • The 88 – Sons and Daughters
  • Authority Zero – No Regrets
  • Between the Buried and Me – Prequel to the Sequel
  • The Cab – Bounce
  • The Chevelles – Get It On
  • The Cocktail Sippers – Give It to Me
  • Dealership – Database Corrupted
  • Endeverafter – I Wanna Be Your Man
  • Ghost Hounds – Ashes to Fire
  • Hollywood Undead – Young
  • Kutless – The Feeling
  • The Len Price 3 – If I Ain’t Got You
  • Lesley Roy – I’m Gone, I’m Going
  • Opiate for the Masses – Burn You Down
  • Semi-Precious Weapons – Magnetic Baby
  • Shaimus – Like a Fool
  • Thenewno2 – Crazy Tuesday
  • Tickle Me Pink – The Time is Wrong
  • Underoath – Desperate Times, Desperate Measures
  • X Japan – I.V.

Personally, I redeemed the code 5+ years ago. Songs were okay IMO with the Kutless and Underoath tracks being the best

Fortunately I got those ages ago, but that's too bad. I really like Ashes to Fire, Young and I'm Gone, I'm Going and some of the others are good too. The first 90 seconds of Prequel to the Sequel is awesome, but then the singing starts and I absolutely hate growly vocals, so that one was a big letdown for me.

I've never heard of any of those bands and that makes me feel old. But also there are godawful names in there... "You heard the new Tickle Me Pink album?" Punch self in face.

With my backlog killing in full effect, yesterday I started X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Thanks to the people who recommended it when it was on sale before the de-listing, pointing out the solid gameplay and the lots of gore, and also thanks to those who discussed about it a couple days ago, mentioning how easy it is and a good 1000G. So far it's the right amount of challenge for such a game on Normal, fairly easy but you're not a bullet sponge, you do need to be a bit careful. Albeit the first chapter was rather lenghty, I already have 255G after completing that, so it's a nice boost too. It's an enjoyable game, the fighting mechanics are very solid and fun, the only somewhat annoying thing is the insane amount of collectibles to get. I recommend the game whole-heartedly though, one of the finest movie tie-ins I played in a while.

Just a thought, but maybe add to the OP that you can add an empty visa/mastercard giftcard to your account to purchase free things on Xbox.com

yeah Wolverine was a pretty sweet game....it's all about lunges. There was an odd glitch in the Vegas part where if you went out a window you got stuck in some part of the city the developers never finished. You could swim through buildings or anything solid, but you couldn't get back in the game.

Didn't find that glitch. Yeah, lunges AND fast deaths. Also, the comic skins you unlock for the character are amazing!

I seriously have too many games. Why am I considering Alan Wake, Battleblock Theater and Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet?
Alan Wake is a necessity. Get it now.

Also, it's only about 6 hours long if you ignore most of the collectibles and don't play the DLC (I highly recommend you do though)

Does anyone at all have Microsoft Spacebucks for sale or know of where I can get a discount... I don't have much to spend but I don't want to miss out on a few things.

Because Alan Wake, a narrator and the nonsensical need to feed a backlog that probably your grandchildren might finish if they never buy any games at all.

Bit more bad news in regards to Rock Band. The 20 free songs that you could redeem for free if you purchased Rock Band 2, are no longer available to download via the activation code on the insert. The page for redeeming is now dead. Seems like HMX was caught off guard on this as they posted the page no longer worked on Friday. So if you didn't redeem the code on the insert of Rock Band 2, you ain't never gonna get these songs(if you redeemed it once, you can always re-download).

  • The 88 – Sons and Daughters
  • Authority Zero – No Regrets
  • Between the Buried and Me – Prequel to the Sequel
  • The Cab – Bounce
  • The Chevelles – Get It On
  • The Cocktail Sippers – Give It to Me
  • Dealership – Database Corrupted
  • Endeverafter – I Wanna Be Your Man
  • Ghost Hounds – Ashes to Fire
  • Hollywood Undead – Young
  • Kutless – The Feeling
  • The Len Price 3 – If I Ain’t Got You
  • Lesley Roy – I’m Gone, I’m Going
  • Opiate for the Masses – Burn You Down
  • Semi-Precious Weapons – Magnetic Baby
  • Shaimus – Like a Fool
  • Thenewno2 – Crazy Tuesday
  • Tickle Me Pink – The Time is Wrong
  • Underoath – Desperate Times, Desperate Measures
  • X Japan – I.V.

Personally, I redeemed the code 5+ years ago. Songs were okay IMO with the Kutless and Underoath tracks being the best
Thanks for keeping us informed about Rock Band DLC! Too bad it couldn't have been better news.

Yes, it has checkpoints. However it still can be frustrating. I'm thinking about taking a weekend to just play old school style shooters. Newer ones have made me soft.
Far Cry is considered old school meow? O_O

If your deathbed regret is not completing the worst Lost Planet game, you must have gone senile in your old age. :p
Seriously. What happened to Lost Planet? It isn't like the 1st one was a masterpiece or anything (I loved it), but the series really went downhill free fell.

Great prices for great games.

Well, I'm caving. Suck it, grandkids! And god I hope the med staff at my deathbed played games, otherwise my last words are going to make no sense to anyone.

"Lollipop...chainsaw...forgotten sands!"

Seriously, i'm considering my backlog and the games knocked out of it as the answer to my kids -when and if I have them, hopefuly i will- when they start asking me to buy them a console.

There's a promotion going on now where if you spend at least $15 on Xbox Live cards (subs or credit), you can get $5 back. Some people that submitted receipts in the last couple days have gotten a quick turnaround on their $5 code. I submitted one on Monday and haven't heard back yet, and there are others in the thread still waiting. There's also a daily scratch off where you can win things. Other CAGs reported winning $2 XBL credit, 1 year of Gold and 1 month Hulu plus.

The Target ad for next week promotes 10% off gaming cards, though it's unknown if XBL will be part of it.

When I see your name, it makes me hungry. I think of those Outback Bloomin Onions.
