Well that's the point, it's survival horror! Don't know what the people who would have dinged it for that were expecting. A straight up shooter maybe? That would be dreadful and the attempt that's usually made to make games in that franchise.

I just started playing Isolation myself and it's great. Probably the best game to come out of the Alien franchise, which I know isn't saying much. It's true to the source material and rather good despite the mediocre/negative reviews.

Personally I haven't played Unity, but Black Flag is good. Really depends on how much you want to play an AC game though. Black Flag is bit different due to the focus on naval combat and exploration. I personally got tired of it quickly when I picked it up on the PS4 launch. Unity, aside from the issues, looks like a typical AC game that just happens to look really good. I won't be picking up myself due to being burnt out on the series. I can't imagine it being that bad though if you are itching for more AC. If you haven't played Shadows of Mordor yet though I would suggest picking it up over both AC games.

 
got my $15 promo code (for spending $100 last month) on my PS4 as a message, clicking on it takes you to PSN store with a prefilled code that redeems $15 into your wallet.  Says you have until Jan 13th to use the code.  so yay, that worked

Capcom is doing a remaster of both Devil May Cry 4 and DmC Devil May Cry for PS4, which is a bit of a weird choice to do both the reboot and the last game of the original series:

The whole game takes place in a space station.

That Alien a.i. made me rage quit and return the game cause i was hiding under a desk and the Alien still saw me and game over for the 50th time on easy mode.

I actually really liked the reboot. Might bite if the price is right.

There's no indication that Super Mega Baseball is going to have any PS+ discount right away is it?

 
I hope and assume that for $40 we are getting both DMC and Devil May Cry 4? I never played the Ninja Theory reboot aside from the demo, which I enjoyed so I definitely want to pick this up when it comes out.

Bad News:

Vita folks: I wish I had better news for you. Our porting solution has failed on the Vita, and failed hard. We have to find a completely new solution for bringing the game over. There are no obvious good solutions available to us right now. The major issue are the memory constraints of the Vita relative to the PS4. Our porting solution is consuming way too much memory.

Just letting you know guys, I just received a $15 credit voucher from Sony. Thing is, I actually didn't purchase anything from the store during the promotion period, I instead bought 3 $50 cards (via the eBay/BestBuy $40 promotion) and added them to my wallet before the deadline.

 
Any word on what the week 3 sale games will be? Just got a ps4 today, have LoU remastered, Killzone, and LBP3. Would like to see Infamous on sale

Does anyone know how 'sub accounts' work? I went to buy Entwined for my niece's new vita, but it wouldn't let me enter a $10 psn code under her name. I checked under my account and evidently i set her up as a sub account/kid under mine. Im not sure why i did that, it usually causes nothing but problems. Anyway the way it seemed to work was that i could buy the game under her login for her, and it just took the money out of MY PSN wallet... but without my PS+ discount! WTF? I understand if its a separate account and i have to pay for the games separate, but if it doesn't let me add to her own wallet and just takes the money from my account when i buy something (after i up the 'monthly limit' setting), shouldn't i get my PS+ discount on those sales?  Can i access the games i bought under her account?

This is kinda weird/confusing, does anyone know how this works? I really should have just set her up with her own account. Any time i try doing stuff with her as an actual kid it does nothing but cause problems. I guess it was her Xbox ID that i did that with

I have my kids setup as sub accounts and i'm almost certain I can add funds to their account. They do not get my PS Plus discount or any PS Plus benefits (other than what anyone gets who uses the "home" PS4 console that my subscription is tied to).

 
What time does Sony usually update the PS Store? I'm itching to see what they have discounted for Week 3 of the Holiday Sale.

I think they've released their blog posts detailing the sales around 2-3pm EST these past two weeks, with the store actually updating around 5pm EST, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, there's a setting where you can set how much money can go to each sub-account. Me personally, I find it's easier to give my kids no access to purchase anything since they won't get my PS+ price and there really isn't any reason to throw money away like that. But typically if something goes on sale I'm finding out before my kids do anyway.

EDIT: Plus by having all the control to purchase I don't have to wonder what my kids are actually buying.

I'm hyped to see what's on sale this week. :bouncy:

Haha, I am in the same boat. I am sitting at work and we are incredibly slow right now so I am F5ing my browser like crazy to see if they update the Playstation Blog with the sale. I am really hoping for Tales of Hearts R this week.

Same here. Refresh refresh refresh... remembering there's still just under 3 hours from when it was posted last week. Still, I hope they post it earlier this week.

That might be the time they promise but I've bought games ealier than that. Week 1's sales were posted online before 3pm EST as I already had my purchases done and posted to the forum 3:02pm EST. And that was also with the PS+ update for free games.

Also the list of what is on sale was posted around 2pm EST both week 1 & 2, so there's every reason to think in less than 3 hours we'll know at least what is on sale.
