Which is what they did with the Bethesda mess. Not giving someone a key on a mistake when they never received one in the first place is one thing, but revoking an already registered key when people may have already downloaded, started playing, gifted, sold etc. the key is quite another.

Actually, I suspect that that Gamersgate tried repeatedly to get the Bethesda keys revoked too but Bethesda shot them down. That would explain why they were stalling for so long.

Thay have a good price on TWD: Season 2... but don't want to buy it from them. What if they revoke my key later on? No thanks!. They still hasn't refunded foxhack's money BTW. I'll stay away from GG from now on

It's not a Steam key anyway. It's crappy Telltale DRM.

Telltale DRM used to be SecuROM. I'm not sure if they've dropped it since, though.

Gamersgate is so perfect... great deals, policies, never inflate msrp to make a deal look artificially better than it is... not sure why everybody's bitching
 
Goodness, can't we have one fucking Christmas without people losing their shit about a Gamersgate glitch?

I understand the trauma people feel though.  I still sleep on top of my glitched Killer is Dead key so if these bastards try to take it from me at night, they'll have to go through me first.  I haven't slept well in weeks, but it is well worth it.

I was actually reading an article a couple of months back where Gameinformer Interviewed the Gamersgate CEO (he's probably also the coder, and marketer and HR and everything that Ashot doesn't do but hey) http://www.gameinformer.com/b/features/archive/2014/10/24/interview-gamersgate-ceo-talks-frustration-with-gamergate-association.aspx

Apparently a lot of people have been making this mistake and they've gotten some really nasty messages on Facebook and such.

I almost feel sorry for them. A few more price mistakes without key revokes and I could find it in my heart to have some more sympathy.

Jonathan McPoliticalBot, I agree with you.  I wish someone would consult me when they develop a lead character in a game. I am still am waiting to play a character representative of myself:  a native-american partially deaf, quadriplegic gay hermaphrodite who only has one eye. Come on, developers! This is surely an untapped source of revenue!
