Gauntlet at 5 bucks.. yes or no?

:edit: Judging by reviews, no. Too generic and repetitive.

I really want to buy Dawnguard and Dragonborne as I haven't played them yet, the problem is the mess it's going to do to my currently installed mods, that's the only thing keeping me from it.

It's worth it. You are using Nexus Mod Manager right?

It's worth refreshing all your mods for them, especially if you haven't updated in a while. And if you ever play as a werewolf or vampire lord, there are some tremendous mods that really, really flesh out those roles. I plan on nuking my roughly 150+ mods when I go back to Skyrim again, just for a different experience.

AC 1 gets bogged down. Don't judge the series from that one. AC2 really gets things going. AC2 & AC:B are great, AC:R is also solid and finishes off the 3-game story arc of Ezio, with some tie-ins to AC1. They are all very same-y, though. I really need at at least a few months between playing AC games (preferably a year).
I know you haven't caught up on all of them... but storywise how much is hurt if you don't play them all in order (or at all) and how much is gained if you do?

Question is open to anyone who wants to answer it. :)

Oh I guess I should toss this out there...

Marvel Heroes (F2P ARPG that's very much a Diablo clone) is having a sale with half off costumes/characters for the next few days...   That's not the big thing.  The big thing is that in the next few days they be giving away a random free hero to anyone who logs in.

I'll try and give a heads up on which day that is exactly...  but it is a 17 GB download so you might want to have everything setup before hand.

Is there a specific day you need to log in?

edit. ill keep checking back

Questions for you Dark Souls II players out there.  How is the DLC integration?  Is it OK to start with just the base game or would you recommend having the DLC from the beginning?  I'm not sure if I want to wait for SotFS to release or just pick up the SP if/when it goes on sale.  The DX11 update doesn't matter much to me, but if the accompanying patch updates enough significant issues, then I might just wait.

if you wait this long to pick it up, then might as well wait a few more months for a complete experience

Yeah I have NMM and Boss to sort things out, I guess I'll try to grab them if it gets a good discount since I can't use amazon.

Right, I probably need to refresh my mods so maybe it's worth.

Since we're talking about non-deals, let's get a bit more excitable.

When Dungeon of the Endless goes on a daily/flash, you should all buy it. It's really good. It's a nice mix of sorta-tower-defence with a dash of FTL's randomness thrown in. There's plenty of unlockable characters and every time you beat the game, a new mode opens up. Recommended.
It was the daily, the day before the sale started. I almost bit on it then.

Yes, it will be a certain day... I suspect Christmas day. Today's gift was a visual artifact. Yesterdays was a Groot Team Up that has Christmas lights on it, which is sort of silly but funny none of the less.

Really, anyone who hasn't played it at all, or recently, should really log in and check it out... They've done allot of work, its gotten so much better since its first year.

that promotion hasn't started until Dec 26th
That promotion doesn't repeat again until the 26th... it was already that price around Turkey Day.

IMO the only ones that should be played in-order are AC2-AC:B-AC:R, since those are one continuous story arc of Ezio's life.

Just FYI, NMM and BOSS are not optimal for Skyrim - you should use MO and LOOT. Follow this guide on reddit.

Though, I would actually recommend doing AC1, before any of the AC2 games (AC2, ACB, ACB) since....

...a certain assassin named Altair (from AC1) shows up in some of those games; and especially since ACR deals w/ both Altair and Ezio.

I enjoy Marvel Heroes.  It only recently was removed from the SSD and moved over to the HDD.  I've just got too many other games occupying me.  And they keep adding to it.  It's quite good.

Yes, there is a tie-in. But I don't feel that tie-in is important enough to say "AC1 should be played before AC2"... especially since AC1 is likely to turn people off the series... it gets bogged down. AC2 is the ideal starting point. If one doesn't like AC2, then Assassin's Creed 1, 2, B, R, III isn't for them. (AC IV might be.) If one likes AC2, then AC:B and AC:R are good follow-ons from the story and mechanics perspective.

TL;DR: You're wrong.

There you go.. 66% off Skyrim legendary.. and that boys and girls is the very reason the senior Steam-ers here know... I swear GabeN trolls this thread just looking to mess with people...

Still too much. You can snag it for ~$10.79 from GMG/Nuuvem, they should run those prices again shorty.

Somebody explain to me why Spore, of all games, gets a slot on the front page. I'm dying to know.

Might just get Bulletstorm to scratch that itch. (GFWL though, ugh.)

Yeah, and anthology was just $15 a couple weeks ago from Amazon and Best Buy ($12 with GCU) if you want all the games + DLC. The price of anthology continues to come down. It'll be there or better again.

Oh, I'm not going to buy Skyrim legendary for that price... but my point was.. someone was just asking about grabbing it at the current rate for that day... so this becomes a teaching moment.

Apparently Steam is just... well.. I'm out for the day I suppose since nothing for me... again.

Dark Void (which would also be an awesome name for a stripper) is $2 on GMG. No Capsule. Yes Steam. Is it worth that price? I've read it's meh.

Everyone got me wanting Dawnguard and Dragonborn, since I already have Skyrim I assume I shouldn't buy Legendary right? Doesn't make sense.

Should I hold for better prices on both DLCs? It's only 50% off now.

y u no read?

Aside from which, you're really not thinking about it.... just looking at the steam store page the logical conclusion is that you're better off buying Legendary for $13.59 than Dawnguard+Dragonborn for $19.98. But this is still sub-optimal.

I can't buy from Amazon, I'm from Brazil.

I'll hold to see if Nuuvem brings it down to $10.

That sort of what I thought... but I ended up not getting them... I should have gotten all the early ones before the steam trades died. The price just isn't quite right for someone who has halfway finished the orginal Assassin's Creed 2 now.... I ended up putting it aside 5 assassinations (though not always the same ones) in each time I played it. (This was on the xbox a lifetime ago.)

I keep looking at this Batman Pack on nuuvem...

http://www.nuuvem.com.br/produto/2567-batman-pack

I own the first two, would need to pick up the season pass for Origins, but I'm still expecting it to go slightly cheaper and/or see a complete pack come out with the Preorder DLC.

Random thought: Lots of Microsoft deals on steam so far this sale...

I just noticed one of the reviews says you can disable GFWL for Single player and describes how to do it.

Oh for Christ's sake, I tried to tell you yesterday and you didn't get it so I will spell it out. USE A FAKE ADDRESS. All the Europeans on reddit do it. Do you really think all these people here buying from Nuuvem are supposed to be buying from them? Hint: "Você também confirma estar situado na América do Sul, onde a Nuuvem possui direito de distribuição digital sobre os games em seu catálogo."

Tit for tat and all that.

OMG, this has to be the one person on CAG who lets Amazon's US-address only restriction stop them.
If it only were that easy, the issue is the billing address mismatch, my CC company blocked my last card when I tried bypassing stuff. It's not good to have a blocked CC at the end of the year.

Y that no have Batman: Origins Season Pass?

Well, I guess that's why it's around $5.64 USD then.

I liked this dead Bundle Stars Batman Bundle for $10 which is now dead, but it was nice when it was up:
