I can't stand the suspense! You're probably right though, if I could avoid it I wouldn't check the shipment so people don't call all day long looking for them. I'll probably drop by after work since others are having success.

Agree completely... even online... just buy enough to get free shipping and return them to a local store where someone might actually get them if you don't want them. I know they're in demand so I don't feel guilty in the least ordering 4 items knowing I'm returning 2 or 3...

Doubt Gamestop is getting anything beyond pre-orders just as BestBuy did.

Not sure about that since most were originally told Wednesday. Stores that have already called customers may go ahead with letting them go, but I wouldn't count on it. Also, all of my local GS stores hold things way longer than 2 days... So YMMV with that as others have said.

There is a new thing going on that all store monitor returns and most stores are connected to this same server. I know for a fact TRU does it, asked for my ID even though i had receipt.

Anyways the end game is that they "return ban" you for awhile or a year for "suspicious" multiple returns of the same items.

 
I've paid retail for 29/29 so far, but I've basically accepted that I'll be turning to scalpers for wave 4. I work on Fridays, so there is no way I can line up early for the 1 of each that is available. And I've given up on hoping I'm online for the 8 seconds that they are in stock whenever preorders open.

You've done pretty well for yourself so far if you've got 29/29 @MSRP -- I wouldn't throw in the towel just yet amiibro. And you're exaggerating... it'll be up for AT LEAST 15 seconds! ;)

I know this is frowned upon but this is exactly why I'm glad I've hoarded some extras of the rares. I knew this would spiral out of control, and that if I wanted all of them, I wouldn't be getting them at retail.

I am not looking forward to seeing how much Ness is gonna cost me.

What ridiculous is that there's basically no incentive to not pre-order as much as you can. Take this wave for example, even if you were unsure which one's would be rare and pre-ordered all of them ex the store exclusives... you'd still be able to fund your entire wave by selling half of them and making some money considering DDD/Ike/Mega/Sonic are going for over $30. I think everyone's getting wise on this and it's gonna be a lot of pain when the other shoe drops

Shit, I couldn't even pre-order anything for this wave expect for my BBY pre-orders back in Dec and those were cancelled. Anything that went up sold out within minutes. I missed Ike and Dedede at WM, Amazon and Target, and missed MK at BBY.

Let's hope all retailers limit amounts orr account or even per adress or ID when delivered or picked up.

In all seriousness I only order one of each figure. for the few I was unable to locate/preorder... I have a great comic/import shop I frequent and the few foreign ones I bought I got as good of a price as the us releases. there were a couple I had to spend a bit more on, but not much.

For online pre-orders yeah, but you were able to pre-order those in store for several weeks (if not over a month). Though I understand not everyone can get out with life situations and all that.

Yeah I think that's the issue. When I brought my friend to pre-order wave 3 at NW he asked me which ones are rare and I told him it didn't matter because one of them will be and it'll fund over half your wave

good to know.. I don't really go crazy with buying in quantity, and both Walmart and Target have been zero hassle so far

For those of you that have in stock at GS for Mega or Sonic, I would highly suggest that you check into the stores. I just went by one of the 3 stores around me and found 3 Ike's that were not for pre-order. They would only let me buy one....

So if your around Oceanside, Ca... the store off college and 76 still has 2 Ike's left!

The funny thing was the in stock tracker said they had Mega and Sonic, but those were pre-order only. The extra Ike's weren't annotated on the website.

Store # and name and contact corporate. That is pretty much all you can do.

 
Also, a little pet peeve, why the fuck do these retailers show that something is in stock when it has been reserved and usually even paid for by a customer?! At my job, we take it off the computer, should the customer not want the item, we just simply re-add it. I hate calling and asking and I'm sure employees do too. So why not make it easier for everyone?

I would think about calling corporate if I were you. Reminds me of my experience of when I went to GameStop and the employee (guy who looked like Corey from Pawn Stars) got angry because I cancelled my Black Ops II pre-order. He slammed his hands on the counter and grunted, "GRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHH!!!!" He really took those pre-order numbers seriously.

At any rate, he no longer works there.

well some jack-ass contacted GS corporate about his MM3ds pre-order getting screwed up and made up some story about it being for his daughter who has leukemia and managed to get a free MM3DS from corporate. He had never made a pre-order and he doesn't have a daughter. The manager at the store I go to had to apologize to the customer. So even fucked off customers who lie and don't give up get rewarded.

I'm sorry but from third person that sounds really funny. I've worked my share of retail so I totally feel for you, bi7chy customers and workers alike. This scares me though, I don't want to get yelled at so I'm going to take the extra 30 mins of my evening and just mosey on over and see what they've got, worth a shot and I might find something else cool.

 
My DeDeDe [ordered from Walmart.com on Feb. 18th, shipped 19th] arrived today a day early according to Fedex tracking. What a wonderful surprise to come home to and now the Kirby family is complete!

Late response here, but the guy showed me his Lucario receipt, he got the buy 1 get 40% off 1 discount on them. He said the store tried to limit him to 1 figure until he raised a fuss (I believe he said he had them on preorder and they had just come in).

I too wondered why he didn't just pay cash, but he still has a ton more stock to sell.

To be fair, they only show in stock through manually entering the id. There's no link on their website to track stock of these four items.

You know what I would do? I would call her back and say the same thing then when she cuts you off I would say I was calling for Sonic Boom. No mention of Amiibos at all. Then enjoy listening to her do an about face and apologize profusely for being such a C word. If not, or really either way, I would then probably talk to the manager and have her chewed out.

I'm not butthurt or anything. I know how getting calls about this crap goes, but you're GS, a national retail company that deals in billions of dollars and house hundreds of exclusives that fans go apeshit for. You gotta keep your cool.

 
Ehh... fuck it. As soon as I get my Shulk and Gamecube adapter in May, I'm done with Gamestop. They don't know how to run like a professional business. It's almost as if they put Curious George as the head CEO. I rather give my money to scalpers before I give them another dime.
