Grand Theft Auto V - 11/14 New trailer released! We're bouncin' now!

that is a big if they can clean up/fix all the money glitches, ufo moddings that is sure to follow into next gen consoles.
Isn't that all being done on hacked/modded consoles? So far I don't think the new systems have been cracked, though that leaves PC wide open...

Disappointed this appears to be a confirmed $60. I'm not sure why Rockstar, or Naughty Dog with The Last of Us thinks improved graphics are worth the full cost of retail again.

Couple weeks back. That's when I picked it up.

If they can get people to pay a higher rate initially for a game released a year ago then it's totally worth it for them to do so for the financial benefits. Their interest is capturing the impulsive customers, so they just never count on the CheapAssGamer factor.

It's brilliant, actually. Lame, but brilliant.

The thing is, they still had to put in the same development time to port it. If it came out on everything nobody would bat an eye that it was the same price as the other versions. Just because it comes out later doesn't mean they have less cost moving it to another system.

I'm not disagreeing with you and understand what you're saying, but I don't believe it took them nearly as much effort to port this title as it would to actually develop the whole game like they did over 5+ years. It's also not a cross platform release, as that happened last year.

I think the bigger complaint is that the game is almost a year old, and already sold well (the best selling title of last year). This is bringing a best selling game to new consoles way after people have already bought and played the game. Everyone who wanted to play it probably has, so what value is there to offering it again, even with slightly better looking imagery. The price is deterring because of how much it is, as that is the price of an actual new, new game. Tomb Raider literally did more work to the re-release of that title, and, even though it definitely has less occurring within the game world and in the design of it, actually offered all the additional digital content with it. But even then, $60 for a game that was essentially released a year prior seems wrong for the consumer, as it definitely didn't cost 10s of millions of dollars to port and redo some visuals.

In Tomb Raider's case, it undersold studio expectations, so the re-release was done to hopefully make some more profit for the series with some improvements. Releasing it at the start of two consoles was done specifically to lower the amount of competition it would face for consumer purchase, making it a reasonable concept for further profit gain. GTA V being brought to next generation is no different, but is unnerving as GTA V has already sold very, very well, so how much more profit does a company need to justify their greed?

I'm not saying that one company should get a away with a $60 price and the other shouldn't, just that I don't understand what the appeal of re-releasing GTA V is; no special content, no dramatic revising to images, no upgrade offer from previous generations. If the game has had massive sales, who do they expect to reach with this, and for that price? PC users are getting their version, and Playstation and Xbox owners already bought it last year. That's why I'm saying to not buy it for the initial $60. Wait for it to lower to a more reasonable price, like $30-40, or lower. Or just play the version you already have.

And still no heists? C'mon!

What extra was added for Tomb Raider? A visual boost, same as GTA and some paid DLC. GTA has had many FREE DLC packs since it's launch. Rockstar has also said that single player DLC is on the way. It wouldn't surprise me if this was paid and included in the new versions, but there are few details other than it is coming...

Have a quick question for you guys. I don't own a 360, but my brother does, and I bought him GTA V. He's having freezing issues in the first mission that require him to power down the 360. He doesn't have an internet connection, so he hasn't gotten any of the patches yet, and I was wondering if this issue had been resolved via one of those patches. I can find a lot of complaints online about freezing / crashing issues with older 360s, but I didn't have much luck finding anything that suggested the issue had been resolved via patching, and I'd rather he not get his hopes up about it if there's no real solution.

First things first: Does he have an older 360?

I don't know how old qualifies as an older model for sure, but I'm guessing what he has would have been new in 2008/2009 at the latest, so I'd say it's from 2009 or before.

Does he have it running from the disc and hard drive?  Does he happen to have a flash drive large enough that he could install the 'game' disc to the flash drive?  That might help with the freezing.  He could have a disc reading issue, which might be causing the game to freeze.  If both the install disc and the game disc are installed to the hard drive it might be too much strain for it.

Ask him to try installing the second, or what should be labeled game, disc to a flash drive, and see if that helps the problem at all.  Also, when it freezes, ask him to feel his 360.  If it's really hot it could be overheating, which explains the freezing.  Is it well ventilated?  The flash drive would reduce disc spin (it'll still spin the disc initially for a few minutes, and then switch to the flash drive).  The lack of disc drive use will reduce the heat, and could potentially stop it from freezing.

If it always freezes at the same point it could also be a bad install file.  He might want to reinstall the install disc, as something might not have copied correctly.

Went ahead and picked this up again .. why, I have no idea. (It was borderline-free, that's why.)

Is anyone even playing this anymore?

I've heard rumors that GTA5 X1 is coming either on October 28 or November 11th. Honestly even with GCU and the $10 RZ points I can't justify paying for it again on the same day that either Sunset Overdrive and Assassins Creed Unity or Halo: The Master Chief Collection comes out.

Maybe I'll get it if they drop the price or just wait for a deal, possibly on black friday?

this game is going no where, until they work harder to get rid of the rampant hacks/ glitches such as the money exploits, that is ruining the game in regards to gta online.

That's a misleading video.  Though I watched it with curiosity, hoping for a reason to come back to this game.

It'd be disappointing if they did release something like this before the heists content they we supposed to have released almost a year ago though.

they will mostly likely release it before the heist. heist is probably not coming until gta v releases on ps4/xbox one

yeah it disappointing me too, as we should be getting a discounted game at release. I'll even say $50 is a good deal, but then again, they do want their money.

Anyways, I am really hoping they release the story DLC soon, I'll be happy with a zombie mode like in RDR. But I'm not holding my breath on it.

another dlc, san andreas flight school

Before anyone gripes I'm not one of those people raging over this since I haven't touched online since January but I ask out of curiosity...is it pretty much blatant they are delaying heists now until the next-gen releases for Xbox and PS4 or is there some sign they'll be out before those hit? I don't care in regards to wanting to play them but just interested since I haven't kept up with the news. The only thing I care about is that post-ending DLC for the story they promised and I figured it might get a release next month since it will be V's one year anniversary but so far nothing for that and with heists not out yet I'm doubting that DLC will be out until next year.

Super fat cat at the bottom right.

I wonder if they'd make the new radio stations a paid DLC for the last gen versions, like how the music could carry over to the other stories in GTAIV.

if anyone here still plays.... and wants to unlock car mods (like faster engine, chrome paint, etc) let me know! (they require 10 wins per class, like super, motorcycle, etc)
gamertag is Thirty1Won   we can race on the level Criminal Records, and take turns winning...    add me and let's unlock these mods to make our cars and motorcycles better.

Just logged into online fist time in forever the other night. Wanted that limited time Manhunt mask for doing that special playlist. That second game with the buzzards team trying to take down a bunch of guys holed up in a skyscraper was actually pretty fun though the others sucked.

Haven't played in awhile, have the AI in the online section always been able to put a bounty on you? I stole a motorcycle from npc and he put a $7000 bounty on my head lol

yeah, they always been able to put a bounty on you, but it is easy cash, before you could just sit in your apartment and watch the mayhem in public sessions. but with the new patch, you have to be outside roaming in the streets for the bounty to expire.

Does anyone know what exactly the requirements to get the bonuses for returning players are?

Do I just have to boot up the 360 version and login to r* club?  Or what?

These actually look like fun. I just wonder how these will work with one person taking on all of the responsibility with the setup and costs...especially the costs. I guess they really want you to play these exclusively with people you know and trust, so that players don't intentionally fail missions to cost the leader money.

At this point the only thing I really want that I've grown impatient for is the promised story DLC that takes place after the ending. Heists could be fun too but probably only if you're doing it with friends or set up sessions with online people from a forum or something as we all know what's it like trying to work with strangers on GTA's multiplayer and this seems like it would be a nightmare without teamwork.

the promised story dlc will not come out until the online heist is released. rockstar need to sell those cash cards. everything on gta online is expensive , and overpriced. especially since they nerfed mission payouts

yeah, i wouldn't want to play with randoms anyway. since it is frustrating failing at non-heist missions with randoms

A few questions regarding the next gen version since I just got it...

1. Was underglow an option in the mod garages in the 360/PS3 ones as I'm pretty sure I never saw them. At least in SP as I never messed around in MP that much.

2. Omega's spaceship parts...are those the little "dings" that are going off on my map at the moment? If you played either game and did the mission where you have to search for the lady's husband's boat parts underwater you'll recall whenever you're near a part in the ocean the map will ding like sonar. I've just gotten to Trevor in this game and started Omega's mission with Franklin that unlocks the parts on the map so I'm assuming that's what those dings are for.

a little help here..... i just unlocked the cheval marshall by wining the stock races 5 times. Where the hell can i save this thing? it wouldnt fit in Franklin's Garage of course and i bought the Grove Street Garage and i couldnt put it in there either.

Heists are up if people are interested.  They're a Title Update.  It's just under 5 gigs for the 360 and 1 gig for the One.

I'm debating buying this again to play these.  Is there still an active CAG crew for the 360?
