Well, no last minute weak-kneed purchase of Borderlands: The Prequel here... I was busy filling my Windward 4 Pack order! (I honestly had no hope in getting it filled... Hell, I didn't think it would get filled if I had started it day one of the sale... Let alone an hour and 10 minutes before closing time.)

Anyways, I hope its as cool as I think it could be... I'm not big into MP games (this sounds stupid for someone with a 1920 hours in Marvel Heroes to say but its true) but hopefully the digital ocean will be as amazing as the real thing. (There is, honestly, few things (if any) more amazing than the open ocean in an unlit ship at night.)
I enjoyed my voyage to the first town I was sent to discover... I got raped pier side while deciding what to do next at the second town. :(

10 out of 10?

Wasn't the point of the 2 hour window for refunds was so you wouldn't get card drops during it ?

I'm currently playing Forget Me Not: My Organic Garden and got a drop within 20 minutes.. It was one of those games that I was slightly interested in but not sure if I'd like it enough to keep it. The music is quite lovely and soothing but... yea.

Are you saying they changed it? Did you have to wait a minimum of 2 hours before?

You're all so lovably predictable.

:grouphug:

Sidenote - I'm really enjoying, but am being consistently punished by, Guild of Dungeoneering. Simple concept, well executed Darkest Dungeon-lite with just enough challenge to keep it interesting without being soul destroying. The learning curve is shallower than DD which is a blessing for me, although I really need to do some reading on strategies.

Good game, though. Very happy with it at 66% off.
I just beat it last night. I had a lot of fun with it, though the randomness can be a bit frustrating sometimes.

I love the theme song.

I almost never got cards until after 2 hours, until recently that is.

Perhaps I had some misbeliefs this whole time.

Oh well. Off to get some spicy szechuan food. Cheers !

Well I pretty much ignored this sale after the first day after glancing at my wishlist and the paltry discounts. Overall it was kind of nice not to be tied to constantly looking at the rotating & timed sales or glitches during the Holidays. Then in the last 15 minutes of the sale I chucked an errant buzzer beater and satisfied the purchasing hunger by spending some GabeN funds.

Bought in the First 311.75 Hours of the Steam Holiday Sale:

Watch_Dogs (from an Australian cobber)

... in the Final 15 Minutes:

Alien: Isolation - Last Survivor

Alien: Isolation - Crew Expendable

Disney Mega Pack

Freedom Force: Freedom Pack

Gundemonium Collection

I am Weapon: Revival

Iron Fisticle

Planet Diver

RETSNOM

I actually read this on the Steam forum for the new Tomb Raider game in respect to FPS. It may be the dumbest shit Ive ever read:

That's the game length on console (xbone). The game ran 30fps on console and on pc it's gonna run at 60fps or even higher depending on your specs. That halves the game length to around 6 hours. So yeah, 6 hours of campaign.
The game length is apparently 12 hours on console for the story (average), so he's arguing that 60 FPS cuts the length in half lololol.

I mean, I guess someone could mod it to bring it back down to 30 FPS, then double whatever clocks are used by the game, and make it 6 hrs at 60 fps...

So that explains why some people tend to get a lot done and others don't. They're not procrastinating, they just have v-sync turned on.

Watch for my new book "Unlock your V-Sync: How to Successfully Manage and Control Time" coming out on Amazon Kindle next week!

In welcome news to the AC series, Ubi is skipping 2016 and the next AC is coming out in 2017 and is set in Ancient Egypt. Great setting and Im glad they're taking a year off. (Aside from the two Chronicles games coming next week and next month).

I enjoy the franchise and Syndicate was a step in the right direction, but they really needed to take a year off.

This is a good call. I'm amazed they haven't managed to kill the franchise by burning people out on it by now (although Unity sure tried).

Fist Slash: Of Ultimate Fury is available at WGN if you reserved it, which I can't remember doing... but I guess I must have.

Hopefully this formatting doesn't change to default from where I copy/pasted the game title, because this message is super important.

I think I got to a point where my whole wish list looks like random indie games, bunch of RPGMaker games, overpriced AAA games and I was like well i'll look at all the $2 bucks and less indie games and just try to get what seems cool...for some reason I wanted Ubersoldier 2 badly though....that one looks like shlock but I want to play that shlock and will....

I just ended up saying what games do I actually want to play and the discounts weren't amazing (ADOM, Binding of Issac:Rebirth, Undertale) but I wanted them. Still got some random games as well but there is an extreme amount of indie games on Steam that we can only wait for the million bundles waiting for them to bundled. It's terrible but true....least I had about $15 bucks of Steam card money.

i was lucky enough to get Axiom Verge gifted to me a couple of weeks back and after playing it I would happily recommend pulling the trigger on it's usual non CAG 33% off price.

Late to the haul party:
*The Talos Principle (w/ Alienware coupon, you're welcome Humble Monthly subscribers)
Freedom Force: Freedom Pack
Collapse

I'll probably BTA on the Humble Weekly Eye Candy 4 (Read Only Memories, Apotheon, The Next Penelope). Considering BTA on Weekly Gambitious (Magnetic: Cage Closed, Xeodrifter) but likely won't.

Many people picked up the Freedom Force pack....including myself. We all the made the sacrifices and eventually it will be bundled for a HH of around a $1 with like 10 other games.

GMG

Shadow of Mordor GOTY  - $9 (having fun with this one currently)

Amazon

AC: Black Flag - $0.52 thanks to slowship credits

Steam

{NFS Rivals PC video}

NFS: Rivals PC always ran fine locked at 30FPS for me. [shrug]

Sure, it (30 FPS lock) ain't ideal for many PC gamers - but it still ran smooth enough for me from 25-30 FPS, back when I played it with no real killer and/or major drops what-so-ever.

EDIT:

i cannot wait for watch dogs 2 this year
Hopefully in the character development, story-telling, and dialogue departments - it won't be so predictable, horrible, bland, and "meh" the next time around.

The game itself, first time around - yeah, WD was quite fun. I really dug the mixture of GTA style games, stealth games, and open-world action games.

EDIT 2:

I hope 2K will put Freedom Pack in their next bundle. That'd be sweet. :)

"Sale" with quotations was more like it.

Steam "Sale" for XMas/New Years was complete and utter garbage.

My Steam Haul = EMPTY.
But your Steam cesspool wishlist is ever increasing in size.

"Want: BASICALLY THE WHOLE LIBRARY

Have: BAD RATS"

Maybe if they (Steam & other digital distribution retailers) had some worthwhile sales, My Cesspool List & Steam Wishlist would DECREASE.

How does GMGs make money all my steam buys are 20% off whatever steam sells At GMGs. Lit all goes to the same place so why can't steam just do 20% off and kill GMGs?
Yeah, and I'm seriously considering the DuckTales deal. Will I ever play it? Probably not for more than 60-90 min. Will I be glad its in my library? Absolutely.
