Darn it, forgot to add the $30 GC, so I cancelled each item in my order and decided to just pass on it.

Picked up a Cuphead art cell box. GCU didn't apply but I'm fine with $15 anyway.

Also went ahead and got Valkyria Revolution against my better judgment. Hopefully I'll find $7 worth of fun in it.

I picked up Paranormal Activity for PSVR. I was hoping to get it during a good PSN sale, but it was hard to pass up at $10. The lowest it's gone on PSN was $20.
You won't regret it.

I recommend playing at night. Maybe it's just me, but somehow, knowing that it's actually night in the real world helps add to the scariness factor of games like this one.

I got VR as well, came with the soundtrack and a pin so as long is it isn't Monopoly on the switch broken I'd say it's worth it. Also picked up the SF collection and Fate.

Any thoughts on the TB headsets? Are these at a good price? I’m just now getting into the market for one, so thanks in advance. My priorities are a crystal clear mic for my friends and decent audio for Hellblade.

With the destiny $5sale, I think we saw the best of the summer deals....

I’m so glad I bought the Nintendo games I Did, during the time when BBY still had some sales even with GCU lol, because they turned out to be same prices

I think a lot of people echo my thoughts:BBY is no longer a retailer for video game deals ....

Eh I just think you guys are butthurt about the ending of GCU, act all melodramatic about it, and will come running back the moment they have a good sale. Looking at my purchase history with them, I've rarely bought games from them during the summer.

But if you want to cut off your nose to spite your face, go for it.

I'm an Astro fan. I also use the Gold Playstation headphones. My friend has Steelseries and really like it. I had TB wireless headset several years ago and it hurt to wear with my glasses. I also got a lot of interference so I'm hesitant to buy TB again.

The entire point is that not only have they discontinued GCU, but they haven't answered with anything in return, not even a solid sale. If their "black Friday" equivalent sale is this lackluster, how can a regular customer continue to have confidence in the company? I have my GCU through 2020, so your "just butthurt cuz GCU" is moot here. My opinion on the matter is as objective as can be.

They're not going to have crazy blowout replacement sales while many of still have GCU into 2020.

Personally I haven't had much luck with tb products. They either don't fit my head comfortably or I get the ones that break. Luckily before the return policy expires. So I don't buy them or tritans anymore.
I have razer and astro. I want to get another razer for my Xbox one to replace the standard headset that came with the system lol.

Oh also check out some ear buds if you like those.

So your advice is what, to not be competitive for the next two years?

They've had sales before, and with every single day, there are fewer GCU members. This means the amount of deals should steadily increase, not drastically decrease as it has been. They could have easily had competitive prices for this sale and make GCU ineligible, as they have for their actual BF ads. I think we've run out of justifications and excuses for them.

I'm not expecting blowout sales. Just...something. While I agree customers aren't "owed" anything especially if the GCU program was financially unstable, we are not to blame for the market standards THEY'VE helped create. They've dug their hole and they're only digging deeper. It's time to think up ideas to restore customer faith, not be antagonistic. Otherwise, basic economics tells us that we will absolutely be sucked up by another retailer, even if it's PSN and XBL themselves.

I use the newer model Golds. Good sound. No mic in your face and if the battery starts to die it’s easy to plug them right into the DualShock. They also work with the Switch I’ve heard. You can find them for $80 ish even less if eBay has a coupon going on. Good luck.

bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch.

I guess I need a CAG break because the complaining in EVERY thread is really getting to me.

Who is more competitive than BB right now? While Gamestop has certainly stepped up their game in the last year, Best Buy still has better and more frequent sales than them, Target (aside from stupid glitches), Walmart, Amazon, and whoever else you want to name. Even without GCU, how many stores have God of War for $50 right now? I realize that's not a deep discount, but jesus christ, they're not in business to constantly sell shit at a loss so nerd can feel good about himself for spending money on something he doesn't really want and is only buying because it's cheap. Physical sales are going away. These stores can't make up in volume what they lose in profit anymore. It just doesn't make sense to give shit away anymore.

And before the chorus of "well this is cheap ass gamer dood" begins, yes it is. You can be a cheap ass and wait for the inevitable decent price to come along (and they always do) without having to bitch that a whole 24 hours has passed since there was a deal worth getting. Find something else to do with your time. Maybe play one of the cheap games you got already instead of letting it sit in a pile until you decide to go sell it somewhere else, and then bitch about how bad the trade in values are.

xxx ooo

:3ds: Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns never came into stock for shipping, and no store within 250 miles of me carries it (even checked some random zips around the country and found nothing). Why include it in the sale BB?

why am I thinking of shaq fu 2 for $16....
Even $16 is too much for a 3 hour game. If you're interested, I would wait for under $10.

It's not just you man. This thread is filled with ludicrous replies. Best Buy has been setting the retail standard of video game sales for many years. A lot of people can't see anything past themselves though.

I have the old golds and they work with the switch. i like the ps4 game profiles as well...though i got a pair of wireless A50s so i only use the golds with the switch

Don’t get me wrong if money wasn’t an option I’d try Astro’s or Hyper X headsets. Golds are good value headsets for a casual gamer like me.

Thanks everyone. I wear glasses as well so I’ll be steering clear of these and keep an eye out for a good sale on some Astros. Cheers!

I’m pretty sure I remember it being available for shipping right when early access started Thursday. I was back and forth on rather I wanted it and when I checked that morning it was sold out.

Seems to be a trend around here. It's why I post less and less frequently. I have picked up tons of games for my backlog this year alone so I dont know where all this bitchin is coming from on almost every thread.

Am I the only one who actually like to visit Best Buy stores? GCU was awesome while it lasted. Maybe they can do some better sale prices from time to time since they know they don't have to build in a buffer in the price for all the folks with GCU

Agreed. Not sure where one would have gotten games cheaper on a consistent basis with a small investment in GCU. Of course the cancellation of GCU is a downer but I think they'll come up with something else before the last membership expires.

Nope, I do too. It's fun to browse, scope out the open box, etc. Of course, since I like looking through the media more than anything, it kinda sucks Best Buy is minimizing those footprints in stores ...

I’m just sad I can’t flip like I used to. PayPal bestbuy e-gift cards we used to get from eBay are gone, trade in values aren’t as good as before, etc. it’s whatever

Oh and RIP GameStop pikmin 3

eBay is where to do it but hit up pawn shops, craigslist, facebook marketplace etc.

It's a little more work but the payout is a lot more. You'd be surprised how many people will sell stuff like 3DS XL lots with a boaload of valuable games for $100 or less.

You can't point to the past and assume that's the current situation. They did set the standard (which I mentioned already BTW) but are now competing against themselves.

If you guys perceive objectively negative assessment of the current situation as "complaining", you need some more context in your life. Only young people without a willingness to learn or lightly debate see that as "negative" and "harshing my mellow man". Grow up; either reply with something fruitful, or move along. The blanket statement "this thread is filled with ludicrous replies" is in fact ludicrous - it offers nothing.

Um...who's the one bitching? Probably the one screaming profanity and telling us their personal issues with this site, I'd wager.

I have GCU through 2020. They also have a new program in the works. Best Buy rocks. Amazon is the one PM'ing them, instead of having their own sales. Complain more. Grow up, yourself. People like you bring this site down. How's that for fruitful?

You can fuck right off.

i would be surprised if gcu (at least in its current 20% form) is still around at all in 2019 regardless how long one many have extended their memberships
This is what I suspect. They'll officially remove the program next year and "compensation" those of us with time left by giving a coupon or discount on their new service.

Who's the one being a bitch? That'd be you.

What kind of loser misuses the buying/selling feedback system to leave a negative just because he (or she!) is a shaqing baby. The kind of loser that is CheepyDee!

edit: Cheepydee has since removed the feedback and so I've removed the link to it. I figured that may happen so I screen capped it. https://i.imgur.com/acW6muX.jpg

p.s. Screaming? I purposely used small letters.

p.p.s. Learn to use the multiQuote function you zilch.

There’s gonna be a new service? St least it’s something. Watch it be gcu but a different name and back to $120
doubtful, people here are kinda delusional. they really think best buy cares that they wont be buying games that they weren't making money on anyway. They threaten to not buy anything else at the store, when really they probably only bought things that were price errors or clearance, so again no loss to best buy. If they did actually shop at best buy, it was because the price was the best there and nobody is going to pay more somewhere else just because of principles.

It's not just people here, the gamestop thread is constantly talking about stealth bumps that never materialize, or completely underwhelm when they do pop up. hopeless optimism i guess.
