Changing this to a FAQs for those that need some help getting these deals.

When I order online it shows X price for in store, but changes to Y price at checkout, what gives?
You can only do in store pickup for the clearance price if the item is available for pick up that day. If it isn't the price will be the online price instead. Sometimes the item will be shipped to that store if it is no longer at that store. It may adjust to the clearance price at pickup but it could also charge you full price for it.

Can I buy the item at one store and return / rebuy at another?
Yes but it is up to the stores discretion to allow you to get it for that stores in store price. If it is an online order, they are supposed to return it to the warehouse it came from so you will not be able to buy it back. It's YMMV on employees following this rule though.

Can I price match a Walmart clearance item at X store?
No. No store, including Walmart, PMs clearance prices. YMMV on getting PMs for these items but it is against every stores policy to do so.

I want to price match this clearance item at another Walmart, will they allow me to?
No WM (or any retailer) PMs the prices of other local stores.

BS said X of an item is in stock, but the employee said it isn't at my store, why did they lie to me?
They didn't. Sometimes items are misplaced, stolen, or the count is off. Employees are not all over the massive stock room nor do they know where every item is. Don't harass an employee or come on here saying they are keeping it for themselves. Sometimes, an item truly isn't in the store.

Why is BS always wrong?
BS is not wrong. Their information is directly from WM systems. Just like all stores, inventory and prices may be wrong for a certain store. Do not rely only on BS.

How do I find clearance items?
Go to the store and scan items, check SD, check this thread. Actually look for something you want.

Where in the store are clearance games located?

Clearance items in general can be on shelves, in dedicated clearance sections or in the stock room. For games specifically, they will be in the videogame glass cases, videogame value game isle or dedicated clearance section. It's random and depends on that stores layout / management.

What is the SKU or item number of this item?
Look it up yourself. There is a search function on this site, on BS site and you can Google the item almost 100% of the time. No one needs to spoon feed you this information and we shouldn't have 20 people asking for the same information that was already posted.

Acronyms to know.
WM = Walmart
PM = Price Match
TRU = Toysrus
BS = Brickseek
SD = Slickdeals

I’m actually a hour away from it! But as much as I love road trips ‘tis the holiday season and that isn’t happening.

I might try it out if just an hour but a 6 hour round trip for a bundle at that price would be crazy lol

Only twice have a done a four hour round trip for a deal. Once was for a $200 PS4 Pro bundle, the other for the HP Omen tower that was $300. Made day trips out of both to visit some sites and hike.

Several days ago I remember seeing on Brickseek that 3 Walmart’s near me had the $7 switch horipad. Couldn’t make it out because I was busy. Checked yesterday and saw the 2 showing them in stock before with quantities were now sold out. Just the one remained but it was listed, like before, as limited stock. Figured it wasn’t really there. Drove over anyway since I had other errands to run and found it locked in the case with a big ol 26.88 tag. Almost left it at that point but then decided to ask the employee to take it out anyway to do a price check and got it for $7! Glad I asked!

Now for those I'd be tempted, especially the Omen. The PC clearance around here has been really bad lately though so even if it says in stock I definitely don't believe it. Been burned way too many times to spend that kinda gas.

Some of my local walmarts have that 24 pack of toilet paper for $5 bucks. I'll probably get a pack, I'm on my last roll of a Scott's 30 pack. It goes perfect with all those great value meatloaf TV dinners I eat.

Yeah I mean, it's a good price for it, few stores here are at $5 but none of them are conveniently close in town

not sure if its already been reported but found nintendo switch lan adapter for $3.

nice find, I've seen them marked down but all I'd seen were about the same price as buying the Plugable one off amazon

The two times I broke the cardinal rule... I called ahead. They confirmed availability and held the item for me. I’m not driving 2 hours each way on a hope and a prayer.

Street Fighter and Pac-Man 1Up arcades down to $150 at the Hallandale Beach, FL store. Zip code 33009
Still $250 for the low around Minneapolis area. I've been watching it and some stores keep switching between having 2 or 3 in-stock then OOS. I assume it's likely just a data glitch with BrickSeek as it seems doubtful they would be getting sent more stock, but who knows.

Looks like most A1up cabinets are $199 on Walmart’s website, tempting but I think I’m going to keep waiting. I do want a Pac-man one though.

I may bite on Pac-Man for 199. I expect a cocktail cabinet to come out in the spring, and I’ll eventually just build one myself- but I kinda really want that Pac-Man now.

Razer Holiday Chroma Bundle

I picked these up last year for $15 a pop ultimately, they went lower than that, you get a razer mouse, keyboard, and goliathus mousepad, this year they upped it to the rgb chroma set too. they're already dropping in price but I would hold out, they will go into a clearance nosedive, currently $25 at a couple stores - https://brickseek.com/walmart-inventory-checker?sku=502461334

Super Mario allover print backpack $2 - https://brickseek.com/walmart-inventory-checker?sku=354263924

I got one of those bundles last year, i think for $20. A bunch of stores down to $69 so far.

Match this at Target with 25% off cartwheel to get it for $52.75 before tax.

Plus a $25 gc?

That would put it at about my price $25. That’s all it’s worth as dust collector.

Still on the holdout for the $25 with $25 gc price.

I was posting something that was realistic, Walmart will never match and give you a gift card. Target, however, will most definitely price match Amazon in store and you'll be able to get the cartwheel as well.

Most Targets do NOT match and give cartwheel fyi. Policy is one or the other.

Walmart technically doesn't even have a PM policy anymore. Despite the one online (that's outdated), no store currently PMs. Any store that does has employees that don't know their policy.

This is correct, they started putting up signs in the stores around announcing it. They decided they usually, mostly, always have the best prices so they no longer need to pm. Which is horse apples and they know it

PSA, please read this reddit thread in regards to Brickseek and a store's inventory numbers:

Unless you've had consistent results at a particular store. I'd recommend you always assume the store doesn't have the item you're looking for. Always assume the worst so that you don't get your hopes up.
I always assume BS to be a gamble, the site has always been very clear that it is in no way a definitive source for inventory / pricing

100% of the time the inventory is inaccurate for me. Brickseek is only good for me to show the prices for my locations.

I have called stores that showed 0 stock and got some of my best deals by calling. Then when you find a store that has it see if they will hold it. YMMV. Everyone says not to call but you'd be going on lots of wasted trips if you don't.

That last Hori switch controller showed in stock at 4 locations will multiples in stock. I went to all the stores and checked multiple sections. Really just wasted time, gas etc. much easier to call.

You'd also miss out on a bunch of deals by calling. You call and they see a good price and say "we don't have any". If you have luck at stores that show 0 on BS and WM, than just head to the store anyways instead of calling and ruining the deal for you and others.

Half the time you call the people in electronics have no clue about video games and electronics to even know it was a good deal. Half the time it's a middle aged person that don't know their ass from their elbow.

Best buy and gamestop is a different field. They actually hire people that specialize and interested in the field. Wal-mart and target not so much. They are just wheel turners working the electronics.

Yes. This is common knowledge. Its hard to find someone that specializes in houseware and or chemicals.

Not entirely thread relevant, but has anyone here tried ordering anything on walmart's site? I've been trying to buy a gift card all weekend and have had my order canceled immediately after. Credit card, paypal, gift card balance, doesn't matter what the payment method is, it's just instantly canceled.

I’ve found Brickseek fairly accurate on gaming stuff, however Lego products are a different story. Never get my hopes up when I see a in stock on a decent set.

I bought a movie from them twice and both times got it cancelled saying they ran out of stock. But then when I go to the product page it says it's in stock.
