Let this be a lesson to everybody, if you plan to pre-order one of the Xbox consoles next week. A few days ago, I said that all the Xbox consoles would be gone in five minutes, and today it took less than five minutes for all of the PlayStation pre-orders to be gone. People on Facebook were even bragging about getting three or more consoles. If you really want one, you need to get it the second that you hear about it. The second that Cheapy D tweeted about the Target pre-order going up, it was in my cart, and I was checking out. The only people who are probably going to get consoles now, before the actual day of release, are the people who got the emails saving them a spot on the 18th.

To each thier own, but I can't imagine purchasing this system until at least 2 years after launch. Launch titles are always the first to drop like a stock in price, and almost always underwhelm, and by then there should different size and color options, a system with a decent Size hard drive and a better library of games that better know how to take advantage of the systems strengths. I regretted my launch edition purchase of the PS4 almost from the very start. And yes, I bought Knack.

I just want to unload my gamestop credit and stop having to worry about how the company is doing. If I was paying with my own cash I would wait until next year with the cross gen titles being most of the good ones.

Given the price and the likelihood certainty it'll be sold out soon, that pretty much makes my decision for me. More power to those that get one, though I imagine that the temptation to flip will increase exponentially between the launch date and Christmas.

I probably won't get it until there's a significant price drop and/or a slim version--which I know will likely mean 2022, at the earliest.

And the difficult part for me is that I doubt the list prices of PS4 slim and Pro will come down anytime soon. I'll just have to watch really closely for any sales, or *shudder* buy pre-owned.
