Nah. The ranking system is entirely based on how many turns it take you to complete the missions. Hence why a late game/new game+ Alicia scout rush can pretty much end almost every mission in 1 turn for an A rank. So unless you are having a bunch of units perma-dying you aren't doing poorly...
