Action RPG's don't cut it anyone agree?

I'm definitely a turn-based fan. If you don't go to the trouble to develop a full real-time battle system (like Dark Cloud 2 or the Tales of Phantasia series), then all you're left with is a menu in real time - like having to navigate Microsoft Excel with a timer. I hate ATB with every bone in...

    Best Video Game Controller Ever

I Play most of my games with the SNES controller... NES, SNES, heck, even some PS games. Dual shock would win me over if not for the lousy D-Pad. And, yes, the SNES shoulder buttons do tend to break. I've run across at least 5 or 6 with a broken shoulder button. If yours are still intact...

    Is FF7 overated?

I may have to try it again... I remember really hating the combat system. But then, I'm old, slow, and jaded, and only like stuff that is true turn based... that's why I'll take the combat of Chrono Cross over Chrono Trigger any day, or PSIV over PSO. ... or Dragon Warrior I over any Final...

The feeling of playing your first system

I had a TRS-80, Timex Sinclair, and a VIC-20... though these filled me with profane magical feelings, and a warmth about the groin region, the NES really cemented my addiction. I remember opening up that black plastic garbage bag, and seeing the sight of that box... every night I would read the...

--Official Must Buy Genesis Games Of All Time--updated 9.5.05--

Phantasy Star II Phantasy Star IV mentioned, yes, but mmmm... the tasty goodness of those games. If anything filled you with the thrill that comes with the glory of single player turn-based awesomeness, it might well have had its roots in these games. A dash of Xenogears, a touch of Phantasy...

Beyond Good and Evil No One Lives Forever The Longest Journey Chrono Trigger As mentioned already, Arcanum, resident evil, and devil may cry are cool titles.

Huzzah! Fallout 3 is going to be finished and released afterall!

The double packs are a great deal, but the originals are nice because they come with a thick, beefy, spiral bound manual. They contain neat information about atomic energy, recipes, etc. Just a note in case you find the original boxed games on an auction or at a used game store or some such.

    What made you start?

Advanced Dungeons and Dragons gold box series (SSI) for my Tandy computer, Dragon Warrior for the NES These weren't the first game I ever played (I think that distinction goes to Wizard of Wor when I was 6 or so) but they were the ones that cemented my addiction.

Gay Marriage Comes to Video Games

Interesting! It's good to see developers taking a few risks.

    Dragon Warrior III

The one nice thing about the Gameboy color version is the reduced encounter rate.

    Whats your favorite bad movie?

    Kitten With a Whip

"The Longest Journey," is it good?

Another vote here for The Longest Journey and Syberia. Look for Sanitarium - it's an older run, and should run on almost any system. It's a creepy, fun adventure game.

NES: Dragon Warrior IV, Blaster Master Genesis: Phantasy Star II Phantasy Star IV

What's the most money you've spent on a game?

We're here because we like the good deals, but what's the time when desire for a game has spread your wallet (or purse) wider than you'd anticipated? The most I've ever spent for one was way back in... 1988, when Zelda II came out. I remember biking up to the local Waxie Maxies, whipping out my...
