Do the 12 Month Xbox Live Gold Cards and 1600MSP Codes in the USA work for Canadian accounts and vice versa?

I was wondering where people keep getting these codes. I don't like asking for things, but if anybody has a spare code, could you possibly give me one or aim me at a contest that is giving one or more away or tell me where I can pick one up for myself?

I am contemplating on whether or not I should grab this for the NES. Who thinks I should or shouldn't and why? As for the title, I meant Action 52.

I nabbed FF7 yesterday for $35... Discs 2 and 3 are in almost pristine condition whereas Disc 1 has a lot of light scratches. There was no case.
