I tried my local store again but upon review they had removed about HALF of the games from display and consolidated PS4,PS3,360/XBO into one aisle behind the glass.  I looked around for a clearance bin and found one... it contained about 30 DS games but nothing else. I assume they shipped them...

I am not sure if this is YMMV at my local store or not.  I went there yesterday and saw no games with stickers.  They were just realphabetizing the existing games.  Is the sale just starting or could my store just be not on board with the discounts for now?

Tons of clearance, just picked up a few games cheap. There were multiple collector editions of items. This may be multiple stores or just one of my local ones. Hope it helps. I also saw a bunch of RE5 CEs, super street fighter, Rocksmith (30) and a ton of accessories as well.
