FYI, Etrian Mystery Dungeon is not really a good Etrian game and a really weak Mystery Dungeon game. Worth it cheap as a curiosity to see how MD would play with three terrible AI partners and 12 different classes but the balancing is hokey and it becomes less fun the more you play it.

I suspect PersonaQ is a far better Etrian crossover but it is still buried in backlog behind P4G.

And man, after that heartfelt letter from Mr. Got to Run, I feel kinda bad saying "Thanks, but no thanks." after seeing the trailer. Does not look like it will bring me the minute of happiness he wishes.

Aw crap I forgot to buy the Phoenix Wright Trilogy. Anyone know if I can still buy it today for the sale price (still on sale on the website it seems) say... 8 hours from now when I get off work?

I am pleased to see I Am An Air Traffic Controller still making releases in the west even though it has absolutely no hype/buzz whatsoever. It is an excellent game AT WHAT IT DOES and not a lick more. The demo should be all most of you need to play of it but it is an unapologetic air traffic controller sim. No gamey mechanics. No minimap giving you a clear path of where all the planes are going, just the one you are ordering. You either get an ATC's sense for what is going on at your airport or you are wrecking planes. This means it is an utter snoozefest when you are managing two planes and a nerve-wracking experience managing 5-10, and while you're watching the nail biting two planes landing right behind each other you because you only had one runway free, you didn't notice that the last plane that landed just taxied right into a plane leaving its dock and don't even remember making that call.

Try it. Both of them have demos.

The new Etrian Odyssey game demo came out today too, I believe.  I'm debating whether I should even bother playing it since I will likely be getting the game at launch anyway.

If it's anything like previous demos, you can carry over to the full game. However if it's like the EO1U demo you are forced to play that awful story.

biggest waste of  60 cents lol.   i wonder who would even buy these games at full price

You are running out of icon slots or memcard memory? You can always make a folder for more icon space and you can always upgrade your SD card as needed. There's a lot of good digital purchases here.

Actually I tried the folder thing. The 3DS only allows up to 300 icons (downloaded games, demos, apps). I have plenty of memory on my SD card, it's a (stupid) system restraint. I really wish they would push out an update to change it.

lol Nintendo you never fail to amaze me with how bad you are at long lasting systems.

Playing the EO2U demo, Arianna is so much the writer's waifu it's almost funny, but at least the characters here are more endearing so far than the ones in EO1U.

EDIT: Yes, let me walk back my earlier comment. EO1U and EO2U's demos both lock you to story mode, not free mode. In EO1U this was an issue because the characters were grating and tough to like except for Waifuquna. Here, the writing is just much more tolerable. I'm actually not turned off to the idea of spending an entire game hearing THESE nerds emote over everything.

I still think EO4 is the best but EO2U convincing me to actually want to play the story is an accomplishment.

Wow, doesn't even seem like August is only two months away. Where has this freaking summer gone?

Yeah, it's a flat limit period. Very dumb.

Is soul hackers and the etrain game that isn't the new one (the one for 14.99) cool for someone who has never played a game from either series but enjoys games with similar gameplay? Both series look great, just not sure if I should start here. The prices look great as well compared to what I see on other sites like amazon.

EO4 is a perfect starting point and in my opinion the absolute best the series has to offer but my opinion is not backed with a 100% sampling of everything in the series.

Don't worry, you have plenty of time to decide. Even if you don't by next Thursday, you'll have another chance when those games go on sale again for the exact same prices in a few weeks.

And again a few weeks after that.

And a few weeks after that.

really need to dump puzzles and dragons great game  (got 50 hours out of the  Dragon side alone-- up to the 3 world post game, but when your taking  20 to 30 mins just to complete a map it gets boring.... All you do is  leave until you get the partner that gives you a big health boost every time, bring in the leader with big health boost. All you do is fill up your combo meter and hit them with  Spells  cause you never lose any health since you get around 12 to 15K back per turn

Picked up that Etrian Mystery Dungeon game for $15. It's decent, especially at that price. I've been jonesing for a Mystery Dungeon game and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon is just too far away. It's certainly not Etrian game, so don't be fool by the title. But it is a good (not great) mystery dungeon game.

How did you get it for $15? It's $30.

Note that unlike EO your EMD benchwarmers get experience so you absolutely should make some of every class to keep variety up and to ensure you have second stringers to mount rescue attempts. You will seldom need to but you'll be thankful you were prepared.

Off of Amazon during their Prime Day nonsense. Figured I'd mention the price since I'd say it's worth about $15 to $20.

Traded in my busted OG 3DS (scratched screens and busted B button thanks to Animal Crossing) to GameStop and got the New 3DS XL for about $78 out of pocket with the help of about $34 in credit I had on a card, so I'm looking forward to upgrading from my worn out regular 3DS XL to the new thing. I even got a 32 GB micro SDHC card for it for about $20 at BB so I do the straight transfer tonight.

Holding my OG 3DS for the first time since I did the transfer to the XL was kind of crazy because it felt like it was the GBA Micro in comparison with the tiny screens.

Just wondering if the copy you got from AWD was factory sealed as listed with the Soundtrack and extras?

I ordered one as well and it came with the soundtrack and extras. The game itself was factory sealed inside the outer box. It was a great surprise!

Life is too short to play unimpressive games like Xeodrifter. That said, you soulless cretins who value games only in hours you spend with them, seeking only to wile away your precious time on this planet, might enjoy it on sale. But at like 2-3 hours that's certainly not reaching the scope of those mindless grindfests you all love so much.

So long story short Xeodrifter isn't worth it. Doesn't do anything wrong but doesn't do anything right.

Sums up how i feel about 90% of indie games. Mutant Mudds was competent, but it was nothing special

There will be an Ubisoft sale that starts tomorrow:

Ubisoft Summer Sale – Take up to 75 percent off games like Rayman Origins (Nintendo 3DS), Child of Light (Wii U) and many more games from Ubisoft from 9 a.m. PT on July 20 until 8:59 a.m. PT on Aug. 3! Visit http://www.nintendo.com/eshop/offers for more details.
Listed on the 3DS eShop as being a part of the sale with potential 75% off prices, though it's unlikely that all of them will have it:

PSA to stay far away from the 3DS port of Rayman Origins. Try the demo if you're curious, but it plays like absolute shit. Low frame rate, low resolution... it's a long way from the gorgeous and precise game that it was on the Vita and every other platform.

And, obligatory recommendation for Shadow Wars at that price.

Has Devil Survivor Overclocked been on a digital sale? Seeing the 2nd one up there reminded me to look into the first one.
Yeah, it usually goes for $15. It's bound to show up again sooner or later.

Also, it's kinda crazy seeing these recent Atlus releases entering the sale cycle this quickly.

Interesting concept. Wouldn't immediately think it could be good.

Samurai Warriors Chronicles 3 is surprisingly good. For me it serves as a way to skip the whole SW4 family because it has that assortment of characters and combat. It plays well on New 3DS, has good amount of content. The freakishly huge size is because it has probably 200 something events of all types, all fully JP voice acted. This is a full fledged SW fan service care package.

It's got most of the usual musou problems multiplied though. You play a CAW for the whole game but everyone gets a shot in the other three playable characters slots so you literally will end up walking into the final battle of the main campaign with a level 35 CAW and a fricken level 5 Ina. Musou grind is terrible in the normal case but here it basically locks you into playing Easy the first time.

But the CAW story means you also spend half of the game just talking to the various characters. The plot isn't anything special but you definitely get a good taste of Koei's writing craft without being constrained to missions to enjoy it.

I couldn't possibly care less about HW 3DS because HW WiiU was rendered garbage because of that awful weak point mechanic just making the game a slog but I think as a tech demo for HW 3DS it is more than capable.

18 level main campaign but apparently 45 total if you count what ifs. Almost every faction gets a what if.

Yeah, the 3DS port of Origins is horrible. Stick to the Vita version which runs like a dream.

Dragon Fantasy: The Volumes of Westeria

are those the same games that are on the vita as  dragon book 1 and 2  or  this something totally different

yea seems like the same game....Not reason to buy it.. now if it goes on sale for 2.49 or 5 maybe.
