Fractured Soul is 50% off. Looks interesting.

SMT IV on sale again. Too bad no one else is as tenacious in digital discounts as Atlus. Would make spending this best buy eshop cash much easier.

What's the verdict on Fractured Soul?  Anyone have any first hand experiences?  Seems to have generally positive reviews, with the game getting devilishly hard in the latter stages.  I'll try to demo, but if anyone has anything to add about it, I would be highly appreciative of it.

Besides Atlus, these weekly sales have been terrible.

Unfortunately I'll probably save my credit for must have new release retail games as the eShop is barren with sales on quality content.

I LOVE the GBC Mario Tennis. But yeah, I hear you. I waited and used my $5 from the DDP on Wii U for this.
One of my favorite GBC games. The RPG-ish element to it made it such a great game. So many hours put into it. All the other tennis games after this just felt like a disappointment. I may pick it up if it ever goes on sale, but hard to pull the trigger when I still have a working GBC and GBA SP WITH the game.

Out of curiosity, does anyone remember hooking this game up to the N64 version to transfer their characters into the game? SO awesome.

how many hours is the game. i though mario tennis was very short .

Is there a site that tracks pricing history on eshop games?  There are a few virtual console games I want to get, I just want to know if the prices have been lower - I'm trying to play through all the Zelda games

Kind of related to this. Have any first party 3DS games been on sale on the eshop? Only had my 3DS since Oct, and while I've seen some nice deals on SMT, EO, and others, never seen any of Nintendo's first party stuff like either Mario game, Luigi's Mansion, either Zelda, etc.

Bought some of those 20% off eshop cards on that BB sale Christmas week, but if those games are still a full $40 on the eshop then really I can get them cheaper when they pop up for $29.99 on Amazon from time to time.

Just wondering if they ever hit that price on the eshop or I should stop waiting and just bite the bullet and grab them next time Amazon has them cheap?

No, they've only put some of their VC and eShop exclusive stuff on sale and that's not all that often either.

Thanks. That's what I thought. I saw the weekly sales of VC Mario, Zelda, DK, stuff. Nice for old games, but just wish they'd do something with the new stuff. They don't need a crazy Steam sale type of discount, but just 25% off here and there would make a killing.

Is monster hunter 3 any fun on your own? I'm sure online is full of hardcore people and im new I don't know anyone else w a wii u is it still work picking up?

MH3U does seem tempting, but isn't MH4 right around the corner? I still have MHUnite for my PSP that I haven't even played yet. Should I just stick with that or go with MH3U?

They're skipping MH4 and going straight to MH4 Ultimate in 2015, so it's at least another year off in the distance.

Sadly. At least they give us the enhanced version of the game instead of doing something like Squenix who always gave us the basic version of FF and then came out with an enhanced one in Japan.

If you are new to the series, It takes a little time to learn the mechanics but once you do the game is really fun.

I would recommend trying out the demo, but it really doesn't do the game justice (throws you into hard missions without explaining much).

For what it is worth, the actual game offers a ton of easy missions to begin with that hold your hand to teach you the basics, although if you are a veteran you can relatively blow through/skip these missions since you already know what you are doing.

The game surrounds learning monster patterns (aka their animations) and the carrot of the game is the enormous amount of gear you can craft by carving defeated monsters and mining the environment. The epic monsters are also pretty badass.

I think the game is fun as hell, but everyone has their own gaming tastes so I say try to mess around with the demo with an open mind and try out multiple weapons to see if one clicks with you.

It's also so much better balanced than Tri was which was way too many easy missions and then something crazy hard. 3U does a much better job of giving you enough easy missions to get you into the game without boring you and then gives you something harder but not next to impossible.

Alright, I think you just talked me out of it... lol

Doesn't sound like my type of game at all.

I hate to be "that guy", but between MH3 and SMT IV, which one is better for the most casual of RPG gamers who loathes grinding? I just want to be able to level up at a normal pace as the story progresses and for the enemies to present just enough of a challenge to not require doing the same mundane bullshit for hours upon hours. They always seem to start you out making you feel like a badass but if you spend enough time with it you're ridiculously overmatched.

SMTIV.  It has a bit of a sharp difficulty curve early on, but after that it ramps up pretty evenly.

MH3 is literally fighting the same monsters over and over again, so while you don't gain levels, grinding is pretty much where it's at.

Neither, both are fairly grindy games by their nature. SMTIV has levels and demons to catch while MH is about honing your skills and farming better equipment in addition to running the missions. There's also only a couple maps in MH and everything takes place on those maps. If I had to pick one SMTIV is probably less grindy but it's still a dungeon crawler JRPG.

I actually found SMTIV to not be grindy at all in my playthrough. What matters much more is your equipment, demons, and skills for both yourself and demons. On some parts that I did find difficult, all I had to do was change out my party and equipment according to what I'd be fighting.

Figures that MH goes on sale the day after I buy it from Amazon for $23. The CAG in me wants to return, but I'm still a bit on the fence and I can always return it if I don't like it. It was close enough to my $20 buy price to give it a shot. I sucked at the demo, but I kept coming back to it, so hopefully I do better in the full game.

If you would rather have the digital, and it's a good game to have digital, it's still on the list for the Gamestop trade 2 promotion if you have another game on the list you want to dump or can grab something else on the list off of AWD.

Wasn't MH3U free for a day back in like October or November? I remember hearing that, and was so sad I missed it.

I tried the demo of it a while ago and didn't enjoy it. It may be a case of a bad demo though, as mentioned above. I dunno.

Edit* I think it was Shante Risky' Revenge that was free, but MH3U was on sale for a really low price like $10 for a day, I believe.
