From the Nintendo Direct:

Steel Diver: Sub Wars will be out as a free-to-play title where you can try out a bit of the single-player campaign and all of the MP before having to pay.

Inazuma Eleven debuts today after the Direct is over. It's a soccer RPG from Level 5, for those that don't recognize that name.

It's not on there yet. The press release I got says that there's going to be a sale on the Guild01 and Guild02 games in celebration of the announcement of the newest Guild title. I'll post details when they show up.

Aero Porter - $2.99 - 40% Off - Ends 2/23

Attack of the Friday Monsters! A Tokyo Tale - $2.99 - 63% Off - Ends 2/23

Bugs vs. Tanks - $2.99 - 63% Off - Ends 2/23

Crimson Shroud - $2.99 - 63% Off - Ends 2/23

LIberation Maiden - $2.99 - 63% Off - Ends 2/23

The Starship Damrey - $2.99 - 63% Off - Ends 2/23
Those effers pulled a Sony on us! Still, it's nice to see that we're starting to get some sales at progressively better prices over time. Naturally I didn't play Crimson Shroud or Friday Monsters since they were on sale for $5. Will definitely be picking up Aero Porter and Liberation Maiden, possibly Damrey as well.

I am very very new to 3DS digital content, or well Nintendo Digital Content. Just got my 3DS two Sunday's ago. I know Nintendo's online is pretty bad (friend codes and all that jazz) and I also hear horror stories about content transfers and what have you. As such I am leery of buying content digitally.

But I am interested in a few games from this sale.

1). SMT Devil Summoner Soul Hackers. This is my main want. Is it worth the $20 or would I be better of just spending $25-30 (or less if I can find it) for a physical copy? EDIT: Nevermind on this one, it can be found for $20 or less physical so I rather go that route...

2) Guild 01 and Guild 02 series. There are three games in each of these series, so that's $18 for all 6. Are these games considered MUST HAVES for 3DS owners or are they just really solid DD games? Basically is it nice to have these games or are you an idiot for not buying them?EDIT: Talking with a friend and he informed me that all 6 of these games are different from one another and Guild 01/02 are not part of a larger story? Like each game is its own individual title and some of them are very weird and the only RPG one is Crimson Shroud?

Thanks to any and all help someone can give me with this.

I don't recall anyone actually lost their games. ppl bitch about Nintendo's system but from the stories I've read, Nintendo support always resolved the issue, ppl just bitch about having to contact support to do x y and z when they want it like Sony's.

1. I have SMT soul hacker both physical and digital. all depend on you. I do like having physical copy for my collection but have no problem with digital. When it got cheap enough, it was buy for me.  If the $25 have the soundtrack, sure, but i dunno the state of that but physical vs digital is always a personal choice.

2. the only guild game that I do not have is aero... I think attack of the friday monster, crimson shroud and liberation maiden are the top ones there.  I would say just solid DD games... must have to me is the like of Bravely Default... but for $3 each, it is worth taking  risks on these concept games.

Correct they're all small stand alone games from Level 5 in collaboration with famous designers. I wouldn't say they're must haves since they seem to be conceptual as much as fully fleshed out games and most are relatively short. They're also all in different sorts of genres. Liberation Maiden is a bullet hell sort of shooter with a high school girl in a mech that's the president of Japan. Friday Monsters is sort of an adventure story book with card battling. Crimson Shroud is a table top RPG made into a video game. Aero Porter is a puzzle game about sorting luggage. Damrey is a first person horror game in space. Bugs vs Tanks is... well fighting tanks with bugs.

Most people agree Liberation Maiden is very good but it's about an hour long.

Are any of them good at what they do or are they forgettable? So far Crimson Shroud looks interesting.

Liberation Maiden...sounds alright but forgettable. Is it a decent SHUMP or just a meh one?

Friday Monsters, is it a well thought out card game system, I am a big fan of card games so this interests me if it has some depth to it. For example I used to physically collect and play Star Wars CCG and LotR TCG. In gaming I got into Yu-Gi-Oh, Hearthstone, Magic, and even enjoyed the Uncharted game on Vita.

Bugs vs. Tanks reminds me oddly of EDF so that's an easy pass for me.

Aero Porter looks HORRIBLE to me.

Damrey seems interesting. I enjoy S/H and I love sci-fi...But is it any good?

Sorry for asking more questions, but I am basically debating Crimson Shroud, Friday Monsters (if it's a decent card game), Damry (if it's a solid horror game), and Liberation Maiden if its a solid Shump. Any input would be awesome.

attack of the friday monster is not a  card battle game.

it is more a visual novel, a nostalgic trip back in time.  I highly recommend this game, but do not buy this for the card battles... it has as much depth as rock, paper, scissors...

The card battles ARE rock/paper/scissors.

I greatly enjoyed Liberation Maiden, but it is very short.

As for Phoenix Wright, some of the character interactions are more rewarding for veterans, but the story itself is all self-contained, which is probably because it was almost a decade between games.

I didn't mean to make it sound like MTG or something, I was trying to describe the conceptual idea. Visual novel with rock paper scissors is a better description though.

OK thanks for all the input. So it seems like I may enjoy Damprey, Liberation, and Crimson. Are those three solid choices for someone who enjoys survival horror, RPGs, and decently enjoys shumps?

Played the Phoenix Wright demo and I'm hooked - on my list it goes. :)
You guys have good taste on here. :) Now if only I could get more people to buy Bravely Default and Inazuma Eleven...!

I wanted it but said no at the price. Not that it's a lot, but not right now. Tell me how is it.
Speaking of... :) $20 is actually a pretty darn good price, in my opinion, for Inazuma Eleven. The negatives first, it is a Nintendo DS game with some very minimal upgrades for the 3DS. And no, it is not earth-shattering, but if you like quirky RPGs, Japanese things, anime, you will almost certainly enjoy it. It's extremely solid. It's sort of like the RPG-mode in the older Mario Golf games but with a way more in-depth storyline and more RPG elements. I think it was kept out of the U.S. because we don't like "soccer" very much. Apparently it is fairly popular in the UK, where they do like "soccer" an awful lot, but I have to wonder if that's not because they also like weird RPGs.

I like weird RPGs. I'm neutral on football/soccer. I think if you went in expecting a great soccer sim, you'd be disappointed. If you like weird Japanese games and RPGs, I can't imagine coming away without getting more than $20 worth from it. If you like soccer/football as well, you're in luck, but calling it a soccer game is like calling Tetris a building game.

So go buy Inazuma Eleven! Early sales count, and I want the rest of the series, more Level 5 RPGs, and more RPGs in general!

I ended up picking up Inzauma Eleven since I've been wanting the series to come over for years. Hopefully this will get them to bring over the next iterations in a physical format.

... and I also got the guild01 and guild02 games to show my support to Level 5 for trying new things.

Reminds me a bit of the Puzzle League games, I'll probably buy it
Puzzle league on 64 was just a skinned tetris attack if I'm remembering right. Nintendo has thrown a few characters on tetris attack before like yoshi. I don't like many puzzle games, but i love me some tetris attack. Anyone know of a tetris attack that would play on a 3ds?

A physical version of Planet Puzzle League on DS? It says there's a smaller DSiWare version that should be on the eShop.

Which were themselves a skinned version of a Japanese puzzle game with the Tetris name. There's Planet Puzzle League for the DS which is the same thing minus the branding and is $3 used if a GS near you has it.

http://www.gamestop.com/ds/games/planet-puzzle-league/65519

Or you can get the DSi Ware release of Puzzle League Express from the eShop for $5.

Planet Puzzle League seems a little better reviewed if it's available near you.

I didn't know there was so much dsi ware on the 3ds eshop. Just bought it, thanks Frisky.

Edit: hadn't refreshed to see your post Eldritch. Already bought the dsi version, but Ill check gamestop next time I'm by there. Thanks.

You just convinced me to buy the game. Thanks! I love RPG's but had absolutely no interest in soccer so I only glanced at it before.

Also BBY needs to put eShop credit on sale for 20% off again. Under $20 after buying Liberation Maiden and Aero Porter.

Eesh, that means I've gone through nearly $100 in eShop credit since that sale.

Alright, so Inazuma...interesting looking concept from the videos I just watched. And it doesn't hurt that Level 5 is behind it. B...but...it's about soccer so I'm going to pass for now, lol. I'll definitely look out for when it goes on sale, though.

I played the Japanese version and it was really fun, just kind of sucks that it took them THIS long to get it over here, and that its the weakest out of the trilogy (All good games though).

I'm probably gonna end up buying it tomorrow. I really don't see it going on sale for a long while

I'd never ever heard of these games before just now. Looking at reviews it looks like those (Crimson Shroud and Friday Monsters) are the 2 to get so I'll do that for sure. I'll have to think about that Inazuma soccer RPG game ;). Since that isn't on sale though I might just wait. But in general I like Level-5 stuff so I'm looking forward to these.

Unlike many of you it seems, I had yet to find a use for my discounted Best Buy eShop cards - it will be nice to spend a little for once.

There's also a new freemium Steel Diver game on the eShop which is a little surprising since it's Nintendo. Going to have to check it out some tomorrow but the tutorial has me wanting to see if my Kmart still has Steel Diver for $5.

Do note that Friday Monsters is really laid back. It has the same tone as your average slice-of-life anime, even during the "intense" section.

Everything I bought before on sale, is now on sale again for less...FML :wall:
Friend just bought Attack of the Friday Monsters two days ago at full price. (I won't be telling him about the the sale.)

But he said it reminds him of Costume Quest in that not intense, kids on an adventure style.

As I posted in the regular 3DS thread, the F2P Steel Diver does have a download survey worth 5 CN points. I'm guessing there will be a post-play one as well.

Hah! Count on $15 at the cheapest, but likely $20. If it was most any other franchise, there would likely be voice acting which would raise the price.

So... for anyone who bought Aero Porter, is it any good?  Gotten nearly all the other games from Level-5 but have been on the fence on this one.

would of got it (Inazuma Eleven) for 10. 20 is too high of a risk The video makes it looks like its full screen but its a DS game and DS games have black lines on the side
No it ain't and no it don't. It's a 3DS port of a DS game. It runs in native 3DS mode, in 3D, and is full-screen. It looks like a really good PSone-era RPG, for better or worse. But in 3D. It has voice acting, too. I'm not sure if they re-recorded it for this release, but the accents are all American. If this was just a re-release of the UK version, you'd think it would be British English with British accents.

I just watched the trailer on this page of a Game Informer article, and now I want Inazuma 11. You dirty bastards. Trying to make me buy a game at full price.

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2014/02/13/inazuma-eleven-soccer-rpg-out-today-on-3ds.aspx
It's a lot of fun! And I seriously doubt there will be a price drop on it anytime soon. When does Nintendo ever? (Then again, it's digital-only here in the US, so who knows. I'm not really expecting a price drop though. It's not a Guild title.)

I think they're testing the waters and/or plan to release the whole trilogy, and hopefully continue into the new titles as well.

It's about soccer the way Tetris is about construction. Anyone buying it expecting a "soccer" game is going to be kind of disappointed unless they also like weird Japanese games and RPGs.

So it's the first game from 2007? That seems odd.
It would be odd to start with the 3rd one, too, and I think maybe one of the new, native 3DS ones would have been more of a risk and required more localization (and maybe a physical release). I'd rather start here so I can play them all in order. :) (Even though I already had the UK versions of the first two... Oh well. This 3DS version is superior to what I had.)

I've been playing crimson shroud the last few days and I am quite impressed. I really like that figurine perspective as if you were really playing pen and paper style. I do feel that the 3D part of it is totally unnecessary, but it's been fun to play so far. The dice rolling is kind of quirky in that sometimes it picks up my swiping and sometimes it doesnt and let's the dice go to roll, no biggie though. Combo/loot system is neat since they're loosely tied to combat and the craft system looks interesting enough for those who like to customize their gear. I paid full price for it and think so far it's worth $8, but at $3, you should buy it and give it a try if you like old school D&D.

It was already confirmed $7.99
Is it any different than the original Trozei? I am in at this price if there are some differences and improvements from the original.

I guess if they're planning to actually bring the others here. What Nintendo needs to do is bring Nintendo Pocket Football Club here.

Totally agree. I thought Crimson Shroud was a steal for $8, and so was Friday Monsters. At these prices, they're no brainers (unless you don't like their experimental styles of gameplay).

Yeah, I can't imagine bringing out the first Inazuma Eleven if they aren't planning to bring the rest as well. Unless this one is a total flop, which is why I'm trying to get people to buy it. I wish they'd bring Pocket Football Club here!

It would be odd to start with the 3rd one, too, and I think maybe one of the new, native 3DS ones would have been more of a risk and required more localization (and maybe a physical release). I'd rather start here so I can play them all in order. :) (Even though I already had the UK versions of the first two... Oh well. This 3DS version is superior to what I had.)
have you played it?

i wonder how long of a game it is and if it has any replay

Yeah, I can't imagine bringing out the first Inazuma Eleven if they aren't planning to bring the rest as well. Unless this one is a total flop, which is why I'm trying to get people to buy it. I wish they'd bring Pocket Football Club here!
Well I'm thinking of using the last $18 of my 20% off BBY credit towards it and just considering it a built in day one sale. Pocket Football Club is coming to the UK eShop soon so hopefully that means they'll put it out here but then again we're still waiting on a ton of stuff they've got already.
