Yes, 3D is this game is a BIG help, and even more in Crashmo. It's one of the few games where I use it all the time. Hopefully the larger screen and HD will atone for the loss of 3D in the WiiU version.
How much will playing it on a 2DS hinder me? I'm debating getting it but if it's going to be a PITA in two dimensions I'll probably pass on it.

Not that much really, if at all.

I played the game primarily with 3D turned off.  It does look nice with 3D on at first, but functionally you really aren't going to need the 3D to solve the puzzles and the aesthetics of 3D (like most 3DS games) runs out quickly. I'd rather have better battery life to be honest. Shouldn't be an issue.

Just played the Tomodachi Life demo and it's... weird.  I can't quite decide if it's good weird or just weird weird.  Doesn't have the immediate obvious hook that Animal Crossing does and yet there's something that makes me want to go back and see what else there is.  Then again I have no idea if there is more or if what's in the demo is the entire game or what, doesn't really give a great sense of that.

Yeah, I feel you on Tomodachi Life. I played the demo the other day, and while I was certainly squealing at the little Mii-likenesses of the people I know toddling around...I did wonder how much actual content there is. I have the game preordered on Amazon, but I'm wondering if I should cancel it. Reviews will be up next week.

Might get Crashmo, Pushmo, Code of Princess, and Yumi's Odd Odyssey.

Has Senran Kagura Burst gone on sale before?

I heard of Code of Princess has slowdown, is it better to go digital?

I take it you never played DQ III.
I never played any of them except IX. However due to an amazing deal I was able to score DQIX for free shortly after it's release.

I'm not a big JRPG fan, but for what it's worth I adored DQ IX. The final boss battle was way too hard compared to everything else, and I didn't bother with any post game content, but from my experience with the main game it was a great experience. Lord knows it would've benefited greatly from online multiplayer though :whistle2:(

As far as IV/V/VI, and even III go, graphics are a huge deal in a game like this. If I don't have something pretty to look at, then flipping through menus for 40+ hours isn't going to be any fun. After experiencing IX I certainly wanted to go back and get into that trilogy, but for whatever reason the battle scenes just aren't as good.

DQ III is terrific IMHO, I played the first 3 in succession and III is definitely a step up from the first two. Have not played any of the others after that.

I think the only good looking DQ has been VIII. Personally, I enjoy the look of the 2D 1-6, but 7 is gross, and all those early 3D updates are gross, and so is DQIX. :) I can't stand that early 3D. The DS ans PS1 just couldn't hack it at all for that. But they could have done gorgeous 2D.

Finally bit on Devil Survivor overclocked last night.

Played a lot on the DS but just never finished it. Not sure how much i had left to go but hopefully the voice acting added to it will soften the blow for replaying a lot of it.

I had the opposite solution, turning off the voice acting and speed-reading.

Those who did not get in on the  Gamestop One Piece Romance Dawn

look for a  deal thursday   on the Eshop if the   sales keep   happening like they do  EU and then  usually  USA that thursday

, €14.99 / £12.19 until 29th June, normally €34.99 / £28.49)

should be what  15 or 20

Isn't this game terrible? I think there will be a much better One Piece game out in July for the 3ds/Wii u/Vita/PS3.

I want this game and feel guilty for not supporting it. I'm cheap tho. I feel like it should have been $19.99 and should be $9.99 on sale before I buy it. But I also feel like I should be supporting it.
I have the same problem. Between Umihara Kawase and Phoenix Wright I feel I should be supporting the eShop, but just can't do it.

Speaking of Tomodachi Life, if anyone buys it and wouldn't mind giving me one of the two Move-In demo codes I'd be very appreciative. I am so curious about this game but not curious enough to drop $40 on it.

I think there is a FREE DEMO coming tomorrow for everyone

The Move-In demo comes with an in-game promo. The 'free demo' seems stripped of it from what I read. I don't know anything.
ooo. just read on another site now nintendo is saying they will NOT be a free demo to all.

fine nintendo i guess my money will not go to you :) BLAH

Can't remember if it was here or the 'Cheap 3DS games' thread that we discussed the Ace Attorney 3DS trilogy, but it's been confirmed for a Western release. $29.99 - Digital only.

fuck. Yes. Now I just wish they would do AAI2.

Aw dang!  I just replayed the first two!  Then started the second one and didn't finish it (started and didn't finish twice now).

Guess I'll have to replay all three.

Portable is the best venue for a digital only library. In the palm of my hand to play anywhere, I can have dozens of new games readily available.

But hopefully you will make an exception here at least.
if sony made the 64 GB memory card for the states i would have so many digital games it would not be funny (already got a 32, 16 and 8 GB filled)

i try not to buy many high priced games on the 3ds since you CAN NOT TRANSFER the games to a new system if the old system breaks

I thought you could if you contacted Nintendo. If that is true, that is pretty weak.

Just import one on Amazon from sellers that are fulfilled by Amazon. Totally worth it.

I still can't decide on Tomodachi Life.  It's so weird and I'm still not sure if it's that good weird that makes it amazing or just slidecage weird.

I can't decide either. It really should be $29.99. Then I'd go for it. I enjoyed playing it, but I like bizarre stuff, and it is even more bizarre than I had anticipated. It's odd, because it's a "game" in the pure sense of being a game. Or it seems that way to me. I have skimmed reviews, and I played the move-in version, which was really brief and got "my" personality totally wrong. (I somehow managed to get my fiancee's personality perfectly, though. Wish they let you choose instead of just moving sliders around. I must not know myself very well.)

ramble ramble

It looks weird enough and I have a few friends jumping in that I'm going for it. Downloading it for sure though. I am bummed I have Animal Crossing on a cart as it is.

If you'd be so kind, can you let me have one of the two demo codes you get with your purchase? I feel like it is something I'd want (digitally too) but that price is too high to throw down blindly. And the reviews sound good and all, but the quirkiness is something I really need to experience firsthand.

A friend bought Animal Crossing and I'm checking it out tomorrow. So who knows which I'll choose... or if before the day is over I'll wind up with both.

My bad, brotha! If I had seen this after I totally would've. Twitter got to me first. Sorry :(

My kids have DSIs, and will at some point get on the 2DS/3DS level. It was my understanding you could not share digital games. If I'm wrong, well shit. Digital instead of carts is so much better.

You are correct there, didn't realize that. :(

But since digital is the only option for PW Trilogy, hopefully you still make that exception for it.

Since that is the only way, no doubt. I originally had a DS about eight years ago or so and PW was one of the standouts.
