50% off Heavy Rain Director's Cut, GameStop PUR only. EXP: 4/24
Stuck on the fence on this one, man...I can't tell if I'd actually *enjoy* (operative word: ENJOY) it. LA Noire didn't do it for me...
Well, this is quite different from L.A. Noire. I couldn't stand that game by the time I finished it (so repetitive and the story was garbage). Heavy Rain has a great story (not best ever or anything) and I suspect most people will want to play to get to the bottom of the mystery. I would say take the dive. Worst case scenario you can sell it on Amazon for more than you paid for it (cheapest I see on there right now is $12 bucks for a non-director's cut version).

Heavy rain is far from LA noire. Even though i havent played la noire, isn't it to an effect a Rockstar GTA like game without the freedom? That's why i've never had an interest on it.

Heavy rain however is just an updated Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy), a ps2 game i thoroughly loved. History will soon repeat itself with Beyond Two Souls. Can't wait to play em
I'd cancel my online order and grab one in store if Boston wasn't on freaking lockdown!

No way to get into town with all the public transportation closed. : (
There's a reason for the lockdown......
Wondering if (and hoping that) this means that it will show up on PS+ some time soon.
Considering it's not a game you can even buy for download, I highly doubt it.

Just got home and got the last sealed copy. Like many others have stated, the clerk had no clue of the PUR special. Oh well, I'm content for now with my new purchase.
No it's not true, report the employee.
To be fair to the employee, the Gamestop email ad did sort of look like the pre-order was supposed to go along with the sale price, but the ad does not say anything like that. It just encourages you to do both. It could be a misinterpretation, but it seems like it's probably an "enterprising" employee.

Neither did mine, but it doesn't really matter. It all rings up the same. Just make sure they get the greatest hits Director's Cut new version of teh game, and everything should work out fine once they apply your power up rewards number to the transaction.

Yeah, I worked at Best Buy for a short stint. Employees often mix up things because really, they're just people willing to work for near minimum wage and willing to try and upsell everything. At that price per hour for employee you get a mixed bag of people, and often they mix promotions up.

Still, you find a lot of great people too, but as a consumer, it really pays to be savvy on what you're there to buy at those retail establishments as you might not always get the best employee.

Yeah, it looks like a HUGE game (data wise). Probably impractical to be on PSN.

Just got a new sealed copy at my local gamestop, at first the clerk put my membership number and then she scanned the game, and it automatically took the $10 off, but whe she tried to finish the transaction it went up to $19.99, she tried a few times and it kept doing the samething, she then said the offer is for pro members, I had the pro but it is now expired, I told her that I saw the offer is good for both free and pro memberships, she then scanned the game and put on my membership # and it worked, so just make sure they scan the game before they scan your card, just a heads up in case they insist that the offer is only for pro members only, which is a complete lie,

Called in for pick up and they accepted the discount price.
Went to go pick it up but since I lost my ID they couldn't let me have it, even though I'm already 20...
Going to go tomorrow again with my passport or something. Dammit, why can't they just be chill like the people at smoke shops...oh wait, this is Gamestop.

Yeah, no doubt. Why can't they "be chill" like porn shops selling to 3rd graders? Why can't they "be chill" like drug pushers giving it out to middle schoolers? Why can't they "be chill" and just give reserved games to anyone on the street without ID? Why can't they "be chill" like...oh wait, laws are there for a reason, junior. Just get your mom to pick up the game for/with you.

My copy of Heavy Rain Director's Cut just shipped from Gamestop.com, but the free shipping filler :)ps3: Red Faction: Armageddon) has not. Hm...

Thanks for the headsup. They had a "new" open box copy at the store but the kind lady behind the desk ordered a new copy from their warehouse to my house for free so I could have a sealed copy instead of open "new" whatever the hell that means. :D next week should be enough time to let me finish okami as well!

Picked up a sealed copy in-store today; the manager was surprised to see the price drop to $9.99, evidently he doesn't read his own store's ads.

Got one, thanks again OP!

Does this game require a huge install to play? Trying to figure out if I should start installing it now so I can play later tonight.

It says 4GB required on the back of the box iirc.

Went to my gs. The guy had a sealed copy but would not sell it to me for 10. He kept saying 20 and I asked him to scan it many times. He wouldn't do it! Kept saying its an old game, 20 is cheap. Told him it was a sale and he didn't believe me. I gave up after 4 minutes. Douche bag. Will try another gs tomorrow. Oh this was wood bridge mall nj

i work at GS... im going to look into that. That makes no sense to me why an employee would do that. No one at my store would even dare question what the game rings up as or deny a customer a game.... unbelievable.

That's why I don't do store pickups at GS. I'm paranoid that they might give me a gutted copy even though they have new ones or take advantage of the deals themselves. I don't think the employee looked too happy when he sold me my copy.

Th employee was probably trying to save it for himself.

Just came back from GS. Clerk says to me, "we don't serve your kind". I reply, "my kind?! Really?" He shakes his head violently. Anyway, walked out frustrated, but I'll try again tomorrow and report back!
I would go ask for his manager...
I would go ask for the district manager and the store # too, and ask for the employee's full name. Never leave gamestop like a beta loser that got ripped off or got played.

All these people having trouble.. remember to vote Gamestop as worst retailer in the Cheapy awards!

What did he mean "your kind"?

Edit: Im about to go and if they have a copy Im not leaving till I fucking get it. They know me already and usually know that I know more than them.
Looks like the directors cut has no code, is everything on the disc including the taxidermist DLC?
Dude. Everything is on the disc. As soon as you pop the disc in you will see two discs appear. The first disc in your XMB is the game. The disc under it is where the themes are located. You can install those right at the XMB home screen. But when you play the game for the first time. You will have to go through all the settings. Play the game a little and quit and go back to the menu. As soon as you go back to the menu. Check under the "Extra" option and all the DLC is located there.

Did the people having trouble have them scan your power up card? As soon as they scanned mine the price updated to 9.99. And why would the store be so upset with that discount? It is a $20 game getting marked down t0 9.99. It is not like it is a brand new 59.99 game ringing up at 9.99 a week after release.

Hmm no one answered: Can you go in store and do a ship to home order from IN STORE with this? Everything around heres a gut. Im not sure if ship to home would work with this deal.

Man wish they had a black label directors cut. Now i have to find a replacement case for this game. Red cases doesnt blend well with my other games. Hehe

just wanted to say (im sure its been mentioned) but there is no dlc codes in this, the content and everything is all on-disc, so you dont have to worry as much about buying a gutted copy.

Havent opened my sealed one yet but didnt the original game had an origame paper inside the case?

A friend and I bought this in hollywood gamestop. We were forced to preorder a game to get the price down to 10$ each. the origami paper is inside the case.
Will the Greatest Hit version of the game have an origami?
Because I might just open that if there is XD
Yes. My GH copy and director's cut both had the origami. Presumably to give you something to do during the half hour install (not to mention the huge Move patch for the GH version). lol

You do realize that this deal's valid online, too, right? Why not just order from home?
