This just came in on the intranet this afternoon. Starting tomorrow (2-9), all green tagged items will now be reduced 90%.

Odds are, there isn't much good stuff left...but what IS left will be $1-4, so some of that junk might be worth looking into.

the TRU in biloxi MS has/had ALOT of stuff left, infact they were still green tagging things all over the store while I was there (3 to 4 pm ) I picked up 19 games, 2 movies, and a buttload of misc stuff, spent like 65 bucks there and carried out 3 bags:) bought way too much to try to list it all. was a 53 mile trip for me but well worth it. tata, ps I think I saw someone wanting eternal darkness for GC.. they had 3 copies left when I was there.

Here's what I got last night!

PS2 Talk Net Headset - $3
Galerians: Ash (PS2) - $1
Space Invaders (GBA) - $4
Gladius (GC) - $5
Crash Bash (PS1) - $1.50
Virtua Tennis (GBA) (3) - $1
Dark Angel (PS2) (2) - $1
E-Jay Clubworld (PS2) (4) - $1

The sales associate threw in an extra copy of Gladius by mistake, so I got a second one for free!

I'm a TRU kid...and I'm 26. :)

PM me..
Warning to whomever, this guy is unreliable. I traded with him and I never got my trade. I would have been more patient, but he has continued to ignore my pm's.

Buyer beware.

went tonight, there were some 3rd party mics there.. thought about getting one or two.. mid-thought, here comes some tall fuck and slides all five into his cart.. then puts four back.

I confront him in the XBox isle, thinking it was a CAG'er. He said no, he had heard about it in a nearby city and was cleaning out local stuff to sell on ebay. He said this as he grabbed three copies of Sphinx and that stupid Robin Hood game.

There was a ton of stuff that wasn't marked (Deus Ex), but I didn't help. He probably grabbed the last three Dino Crisis 3's there. Oh well. I wanted Backyard Wrestling on XBox and the other two KOF 00/01, but both were gone.

Woo. I returned. I helped out a lady there shopping for her kids for the unmarked green tagged games, and she asked how I found out, I told her about CAG. :D

But, I bought a valentine's gift, so, my total for all items was 30.30 or so. Here is what I got.

R-Racing Evolution: $1 (GCN) X 2
Carrier $2 (DC)
Eternal Darkness $5 (GCN) X 2
Mojo $1 (XB) X 2
Universal Studios Theme Park Adventure $3 (GCN) X 2

I plan to keep one copy of each I have double of, beyond that, they're for EB's trade in deal.

I wanted Mad Maestro, but I have a feeling someone cleared them out already, because they weren't there.

Thank you, OP.

I looked in the toys but nothing caught my eye, oh well.

Oh, I forgot to mention, since I'm trading in doubles to EB, it's "any two non-sports games for a BONUS 10"? So, you get the original credit PLUS a bonus 10? Just checking, I've never traded in to EB before.

Funny story . . . back when the Green Tags were 50% off, you could get the $10 ones for free with the "magic" coupon (in Dec.). The coupon gave $10 off any 2 games priced UNDER $19.99. When they had their 2 GH or PH for $30 . . . you could used the coupon to get them for $10 each (I got MGSTS this way).

I scooped up a few "free" games this way (Stuntman, Unreal, Morrowind, Namco museum, etc...) I could've hoarded but didn't. On one transaction, there was nothing to balance out an extra copy of Unreal Championship for Xbox . . . so, it cost $5 . . . a kind of "doh" moment.

I had the game on my tradelist but no one wanted it. There is a 45 day return policy. So yesterday I returned it with a $9 Arc the Lad.

Today, I scoured the already bare TRU . . . but there was my UC with the outer label still on! It rang up for .90

Then I noticed 4 Jampacks with green tags . . . they rang up for .80 each.

So I stopped at EBgames and traded in a Jampack and Unreal for $12.25 in credit. Tomorrow, I'll trade the other JPs with a Mad Maestro for another $20 something.

Don't think I'd want to do this on a huge scale but $30 will come in handy.

Thanks CAG!

Let me tell you a tale folks...

I arrive at the store this morning. I picked up 2 Fatal Frame tags, one for headhunter, and one for black and bruised. I was snooping around and found one for frequency and soldier of fortune as well. And lo and behold, I found an entire shelf of GCN controllers. I also got a copy of Ejay whatever and No One Lives Forever.

As I'm waiting for the electronics lady, she comes over and tells me that they don't have any fatal frames. I wait for her to get the other games. She returns and tells me that there isn't any copies of the games I had tags for. She later comes out with copies of Primal, Savage Skies, and The Mark of Kri. She offers me a refund and these games. Which is really cool. At this point, the manager walks over and asks what the situation is. I explain and tell her its okay. She then orders the electronics lady to find a couple of more greentag games. She comes out with a copy of RE: Code Veronica X. Rings up $5.48, the manager then tells her to give it to me for 90% off that price (I offered to pay the difference since I know this kind of stuff happens). But the manager won't hear it.

I called up my younger brother and later my boss who want me to get them some contollers. I also picked up a copy of Morrowind: GOTY for my boss's boyfriend and Red Alert 2 for my younger brother while I was there.

So to recap:

Mark of Kri - 1.50
Savage Skies - 1.30
Primal - 1.50
Resident Evil: Code Veronica X - don't remember price
6 Black GCN controllers (2 for me, 2 for brother, 2 for boss) - 2.50 a piece
No One Lives Forever - $.74
Red Alert 2 - $1.00
Ejay whatever - $1.00
Morrowind GOTY - $3.00

A word of advice, ask the electronic people to check the back room. There was completely no evidence of primal, mark of kri, savage skies, or RE...I wouldn't have known unless the lady hadn't brought them out.

I'll try to grab some controllers for folks tomorrow but there was a guy with a handful as I was leaving.

edit: Sorry to all the folks that were hoping I'd be able to get some fatal frames.

just a note for any columbus CAGs, west broad still had some fairly decent stuff, when i got there i wasnt expecting anything but found a copy of R:racing for gamecube(thanks for the offer shipwreck but as you can see i dont need the VS disc anymore) and they also had MTV celebrity deathmatch(xbox) and a music maker game for ps2.
i also saw an open box ps1 intec screen so i grabbed that

they still had two r Racing for gamecube(within the blue standup in front of the rzone)
as well as a ton of celebrity deathmatch and about 30 universal studios games.

so if anyone is interested
happy hunting

I wasted my time there. Some punk clerk wouldn't scan anything for me. I tried to pick up R: Racing for GC (with Pac Man Vs) and Deus Ex: Invisible War and he said they weren't on sale and said they were on sale, but not anymore. I saw the GC battery for $5 and then saw a bunch of PSone screens and got excited about that possibility, but the same guy there said the screens were $40 and that wouldn't be worth it for me. I was hoping for $20. I might have to go back when the one guy I know is working there. There are a ton of Perfect Dark copies and Dreamcast sports packs, that is about it though. I really wanted to pick up Kill.Switch.

Were those controllers nintendo brand? Are all colors 90% off?

I just came back from TRU in Ontario, CA and didn't see any green tag sales. I looked at each section and no signs of 90% OFF sale. Anyone in this area know if the sale is over or they haven't started yet?

Umm, what is a "GC bettere indigo and black each 4$"?

TRU is Roseville MN has a bunch of Sword of Manas for 9.98 as well as the GCN batter pack for 8.88. Thats about it except for a bunch of Black and Bruised for the PS2.

Jacksonville by the Avenues Mall had just had 4 copies of Black And Bruised for PS2 with a $29.99 green tag price. Decided it wasn't worth the hassle to try spin to EBgames for a $2 profit a game at EB, especially if they denied multiples.

Had some PS1 games plus a bunch of copies of Perfect Dark for N64.

I just hit up 3 stores in the Greater Boston area and got a pretty good haul (don't worry...no hoarding) of 25 different titles. Naturally these are mostly going to EB, but I'm wondering about the trade-in etiquette? Are you guys unwrapping these or leaving them sealed but pulling the price tag or what?

Yep, official nintendo. The only color my store had was black. Look for the oversize plastic packaging. It can stand up by itself (as opposed to the small packaging that fits on the shelf easier)

Has someone set up an official TRU 90% clearance trading thread yet? I see so many posts about people getting multiples, but most of them seem to be trading them in to EB. It would be nice to see what people got cheap and are willing so sell or trade to other CAGs.

I was at my local TRU and they had a TON of R Racing Evolution for GC and some other items but none rang up with the 90% off. None had green tags. Should these have rang up at 90% off?

hmm... so who's heading out tommorow to hit more TRUs?

Is anyone else here from miami? It seems no one where I live even knows about this... but the local TRU managers started putting out 90% sale signs in the elctronic dep... grrr...

Yes, it should. I got a Gamecube R Racing Evolution (with PacMan VS disc) for $1.49. It had a $14.99 'Great Games, Great Prices' sticker on the front.

Im heading out tomorrow to try my luck at the Mira Mesa, CA and San Diego (Morena Blvd) CA TRU's.

Anyone been to these stores yet. I'd love to get Morrowind GOTY, Xenosaga, Wild Arms 3, Romance, Metropolismania, and some other games I actually want to play.

My haul:

Way of the Samurai - US PS2 - $2
EJay Club World - US PS2 - $1
Haven: Call of the King - US PS2 - $1
Myst III Exile - US PS2 - $2
Unreal Championship - US XBX - $1
Bloody Roar: Primal Fury - US Cube - $3
Twisted Metal: Black - US PS2 - $2
Black & Bruised - US Cube - $3
Headhunter - US PS2 - $3
Silpheed - US PS2 - $1
Universal Studios - US Cube - $3
Jet Grind Radio - US DC - $1
Carrier - US DC - $2

Grand total: $27.25
I saved: $224.82

W00tage. Major props to the OP.

LOL, horrible speller. He means Gamecube Rechargable Batteries.

I went back today and they only new stuff I found were some 3rd party Xbox controllers for $2.49 and Atari 80 Classic Games for PC for $2.
I did score some nice toy deals:
Playdough farm/tractor playset (for daughter) $0.40
TMNT Shell Cell phones (again, for daughter) $0.50
12" Van Helsing figure $1.50
hmm... so who's heading out tommorow to hit more TRUs?
I'm going back out tomorrow, my cousin went to the one I bought stuff at yesterday and he said they had some different stuff. Hopefully by tomorrow night, there will be at least something. I wanted to buy some more EB fodder. I got my fingers crossed!

What! I went ot TRU yesterday and none of the GC controllers were green tagged... I didn't ask the price, but is it true that they are on sale? Because other things were tagged, but not the controllers.

For those saying that the green tag items didnt ring that way, did you make sure the transaction was totalled? All my items rang up as full until the TRU guy hit the total button.

YMMV

funny... my TRU was loaded with crappy 3rd pty PS2 controllers. I am looking for a GBA but no luck so far...

People, you need to realize this is a very YMMV intensive deal.
For those saying that the green tag items didnt ring that way, did you make sure the transaction was totalled? All my items rang up as full until the TRU guy hit the total button.
yeah, after talking to an employee all TRU ring it up that way, so when you see full price at first, don't freak.
Your mileage may vary? What does YMMV mean?
It means your stores may not have the same prices as the other users stores.
For those saying that the green tag items didnt ring that way, did you make sure the transaction was totalled? All my items rang up as full until the TRU guy hit the total button.
and apparently the sale is not on at TRUs in Canada. So if you are going to a Canadian TRU, that could be why it's not rining up 90%.

I saw a couple of R Racing Evolution for PS2 for the 14.99 tag, is that on sale too? also, is there another promotion with two 14.99 ring up for $20. I ranged up two XBOX Rouge Ops and it's 20 not 90% off after hitting total or did i messed up and should had brought 3 games up and hit the total button for 90% off.

Just to be forewarned I remember seeing someone saying that Metropolismania was 1 or 2 dollars at thier store but it was still $9.99 at mine. I'm guessing that maybe the copy they got had one of them generic sticker UPC covering up the one on the game case. All of the copies at my store didn't have any sticker UPCs covering up the real one.

Just a heads up...In Southern California the Thousand Oaks and Porter Ranch store are pretty much cleaned out. I managed to grab some games, but someone else did as well. Left were some Virtua Tennis and Space Invaders for GBA
I saw a couple of R Racing Evolution for PS2 for the 14.99 tag, is that on sale too?
The PS2 version of R Racing Evolution was green tagged but was taken off of the green tag sale since before the green tag stuff went to 90%

Hey, anyone know how to open those purple 'slips' over some of the games like Savages skies and Stretchpanic? I can't seem to figure it out!

i called ebgames and asked about trading in games for 10 dollars credit.

it seems like you can only trade 1 copy for each game per day. i guess you probably can get around this if u just drive to another store.

if u have multiple copies, i guess ya gotta make several runs to get all ur credit. how come there have been reports of ebgames employees not caring about the policy and just ringing up multiple copies at once? why aren't these stores near me?

so, for those of u with 2+ copies, i guess ya gotta wait...

If anyone here scores some cheap Jampacks post Summer 2004, Exhibition 3 or 4, WTA Tennis, Sega Sports Tennis, Red Card 2003, Dirt to Daytona Nascar, Mafia or Bloodrayne 1 PM me. I wanted to get those at my TRU, but they aren't doing a 90% off sale...STILL. =\

CAG here reporting in, Just got back from one of my local TRUs and well they didn't have much, but I did find the last two Primals and the last two Wipeout Fusions. Picked up both of them, one for me and one of each for my friend. They also had Gladius which I picked up but it was the only one and was priced at $5.

All for $15:D

I think I might actually hit up the other TRUs in my area just to see what they have left.....

You may want to try scanning some of the green tagged stuff to see if its 90%. The nice thing about the 90% off now is that the actual price after discount shows up on the instore price scanners.
