Wow, I didn't read anywhere in here anyone buying two or three to resell we pretty much just bought one for ourselves.

Also keep in mind this was a LIMITED EDITION bundle, that is supposedly now OOP, so after they sold out of what they had on hand, there are no more, not necessarily people hoarding them (remember they were on sale a few weeks ago for $40, so these were the left overs at a cheaper price point)

Maybe you'll luck out during BF, maybe not, that's the life of a CAG. Luck of the draw.
And timing is everything.

I think it was a price mistake, because they were price matching gamestop's GAME ONLY version. They might drop the game only to 29.99 and then return the controller version at full price.

GameStop was for the bundle, but it says "online price" and also "not available online," so I don't really know wtf is going on.

Huh? Gamestop.com had the Bundle for 29.99, not just the game.

Nope, bundle's $30 at gamestop too, at least online. not available there, either. Guess this was the right price to get rid of whatever copies they had left.
 
Well, used the game is like $23 on eBay. An extra $7 for a new controller isn't bad, but if you don't need the controller (and I don't), then don't feel too bad about missing out. I would have bought it if it was still in stock, but I think that I can find the game for less than $20 sometime down the line when I'm actually ready to play it.
 
I don't think it was a price mistake on GS either. I think it's possible this particular bundle is being cleared out and Gs reduced the price to help that along.

It was, their ad has the GAME ONLY on sale starting yesterday for $30. The price of the GAME ONLY is 39.99 while the BUNDLE is $30.00. I guess amazon was just price matching the price mistake.

I said their actual ad (click on Weekly Ad) has the game only version for $30 but their website made a mistake and made the bundle $30 instead of the game only. So they made the price mistake.
 
I don't think it's a mistake, and it has nothing to do with any in-store prices, since it has "online-only" written on it. This was only $40 a few weeks ago at amazon and is $50 retail at gamestop, It wouldn't have to be a mistake for it to be $30. If it didn't sell out at this price it was probably headed for $20 on black friday, but it sold lightning quick at this price.
 
I spent half of yesterday refreshing GS and Amazon (after reporting a lower price) with no luck. Today I e-mailed GS to ask them why it says it is available and will ship in 24 hours but I can't get it...then I see Amazon DID match it for 2 hours?! GOD DAMMIT! I gave up on them!
 
Everytime I see a good deal like this go OOS so quickly, the first though that runs through my mind is 'why can't slickdeals limit their stuff to organic deals.'

Not saying this time, but it's like anytime something gets posted here we all have a good time with the thread, and as soon as it's over there, it's dead within minutes.

That said, most of those also allow the GameCube controller, which I find is often just as good or not better than the Classic Controller.

Ugh, I wish it was in-stock at GameStop.com, I've still got 2 $10 credits to use and I'd be more than willing to pick this bundle up for $20.

Yeah, I saw the deal earlier but I already have the classic controller pro and just need the game, so I passed (game will probably reach $20 sometime)
 
Picked it up at Gamestop with my remaining credit. Only had to pay $1 after everything was said and done.

I got the same email and was thinking the same thing.
 
Hell Yea! I missed the amazon deal but managed to get one at gamestop.
Gamestop to the rescue! (Can't believe I just said that! I normally hate gs)
