If anyone is looking for games to buy for the resale value. NCAA 14 will be the last college football game they make.

They stoppped making college basketball games after 2010. And that game still goes for $60+ brand new on eBay, 4 years later.

I used to be a big xbox fan, and like you I owned and loved the playstation 2. You could say I was a playstation fan turned xbox fan. When xbox announced the DRM and always online stuff (doesn't matter if they reversed it), I felt a little betrayed since I was a big time xbox supporter. Luckily I had a ps3 as well, and quickly shifted my focus to that. I now own a ps4 as well and boy do I love it! I even got all my friends to switch to playstation as well! I'd say make the jump! It's quite refreshing and if you're like me, you'll be coming back to your roots. I hope my story helped! Enjoy!
Same here. I owned a PS1 and PS2 back in the day. The sheer hubris Sony displayed at launch for the PS3 turned me off of that system and I ended up getting an Xbox 360 instead. I had some great years with it and I was very excited about the Xbox One before they announced anything. I'd assumed that they would take everything that I loved about the 360 and improve upon it.

Instead, they developed the same "We're too big to fail! LOL!!!1" mentality that Sony had after the success of the PS1 and PS2. The Xbox One that was revealed was a consumer-unfriendly DRM nightmare. They also ditched MS Points - yes, I know some people hated them, but I could always buy points cards for considerably cheaper than face value and that made (in retrospect, very mediocre) game sales better. Add to that the fact that Microsoft has burned quite a few bridges with indie devs and Japanese companies meaning that some good titles won't appear on the Xbox One. Having to pay for Xbox Live just to Netflix ("yo dawg, I heard you like subscriptions"). Then came the random banhammerings to a dedicated portion of their community. The mandatory Kinect plus the PRISM/NSA leak (yes, call me paranoid - but just no)... It all culminated in me deciding to migrate back to Sony's camp. And honestly, it felt like coming home.

If most of your friends are getting PS4, then you should do yourself a service by getting the same console as them. That way, not only will you be able to play online games with them in the future, but you'll also be getting the more powerful console, at a $100 cheaper price point--it's a win-win, from what I can see. Xbox Live is great and all, but PSN is vastly improved in its own rite, with a fast, slick interface, and nice social and voice chat features--the whole shebang. Not to mention PS+ gives you a lot of kickass free games and discounts.

And seeing as how your most anticipated game is Destiny, it would also definitely serve you well to go with the PS4. The PS4 version of Destiny will be a sight to behold, and definitely the best version of the game, with superior graphics fidelity, and exclusive content.

To address your other concerns, the PS4 controller is vastly improved over the PS3 controller in terms of ergonomics and viability for FPSs. I've seen many gaming journalists flat-out say that they prefer the PS4 controller over even the 360 or Xbox One controller.
Well it's half and half when it comes to friends getting one or the other. But the friends who are getting xbox wont be as "hardcore" about gaming I guess you can say.

the only thing I'm kind of stuck on is I already bought FIFA 14, Black Flag, and BF4 from Gamestop for the trade in deal towards xbox one for 10 more dollars, so now il have xbox 1 versions and id have to sell them or trade them for ps4 versions some how if I do end up going ps4.

I'm also huge into FIFA and I was just hoping the controller is okay for it, since a lot of news has been about the dualshock being great for FPS.

Welp, I just bought Rayman minutes before I saw this, so I'm I did!

So with the Seiki 50 inch gone (and possibly not coming back) can anyone recommend me a Black Friday monitor that will be used solely for my PS4

Coming home huh? That actually gave me the chills man because I know what you mean..

Ps2 was my life back in the day, I mean literaly. It was great. Maybe I should give it a chance...

Except it's the one game that Amazon is avoiding like crazy right now. It's bad enough Wal-Mart.com either sold out or hasn't started yet.

Dualshock 3 controllers are $34.99. Most likely PM from Best Buy since both deals are live now. Sorry if this is a repost.

I felt kinda stupid after I posted that. I just checked the Amazon calendar thing and it looked like the deal had already passed.

But you saying NCAA 14 hasn't dropped to $25 yet?

Any chance that Amazon will match Gamestop's $30 Borderlands 2 GOTY deal for X360?
They more than likely are. It still shows up in the lightning deals for me as being 50% off for PS3 and 360 later, so $30. Incorrect info.

Shit. I slept on WWE 2k14 for $35 (back up to $40) since I wanted to wait for TLoU lightning deal to combine in one order. Think WWE will drop back down to $35 for a lightning deal?
Its on sale at Target and if you got the RedCard its free shipping plus 5% back.

Damn anybody seen Diablo 3 for under $40? It seems that all the games that came after it are on sale but that one damn game wont drop.

It hasn't. I have been refreshing that one quite often, only console game i'm looking for this year. Think NCAA 14 may have been $34 yesterday...but I might be thinking of Madden.

This might be a little off topic, but I was hoping some of you could maybe help me make one of the biggest decisions of my life.

So I'm in the xbox1 vs ps4 perdicament, and I have 2 gaming buddies who are trying to convince me to go ps4 with them, but I've been an xbox guy and love Xbox Live and the all that.

The only exclusives I was stoked about for xbox is Titanfall, but I could get that for PC if I really wanted to.

I had a ps2 when I was younger and loved it.

I also came to the conclusion that since I'm still buying 360 games (Just bought Rayman Legends, RE5, and Hitman 1-4) that my 360 will still be used on occasion and I will also have it still plugged into my tv and stuff alongside whichever new gen console I get.

The one game I'm most excited for is Destiny, and that isn't out for awhile so there isnt a dire need to rush and get one yet, but my thinks since I'll be using the 360 sill, I should just get the ps4 and have the best of both worlds. But I still love the idea of the xbox1!

Ugh.

Any advice?
I have about 130 360 games and about 40 ps3 games. My preference between those two consoles is pretty clear =p

But I will never touch an xbone. The DRM and used games crap put a really bad taste in my mouth, and even if they reversed it, this generation is going to go on for a loooong time. At any point M$ could flip the proverbial switch and force everyone to go back to what they were originally intending to do. I was for a short while starting to think about sticking with xbox, but after what M$ did with Forza 5 and the pathetic 'Games with Gold' attempt to compete with PS+, I just can't trust that M$ will ever have any interest but doubling down on nickel-and-diming us into the poor house.

I'm holding out hope that Sony PS store drops Diablo 3 below everyone's $39.99 tomorrow. http://us.playstation.com/black-friday-2013/

If not, then I will probably pick it up at my gamestop for $40

They advertised NCAA 14 at $25 along with FIFA, BF4 and Madden. Though NCAA is the only one NOT on the upcoming lightning deals section.

The latest lightning deals are just sad. Three to five dollar price drops in almost all cases.
Yeah man, I was just looking at the Saints Row 4 collectors edition deals as I haven't picked up the game yet, and they're like $7-$10 off the normal price.. Wtf

Any idea how long Rayman Legends will stay at 25? Waiting for TLOU or BTS to maybe get cheaper before buying that + Rayman for free shipping.

They are throwing those in hoping people bite because of the frenzy. It's better than retail for casual buyers but I'm waiting for more. Amazon actually does have some games cheap that aren't lightning deals, like Scribblenauts.

True. Scribblenauts is so cheap I'm almost considering buying it, even though I already have the PC version.

I find it very annoying that if you have credit in your account you can't choose not to use it without losing the lightning deal. Keep having to temporarily buy something expensive so I can buy things I want to think about.

Could someone please explain this to me.

How is it no longer available. Have they skipped over deals or what?

I really want Rayman Legends for Vita so should I bite on the25$ deal or wait?

Get on chat support quick and they'll adjust the price. Same thing happened to me earlier when I bought the $10 slow cooker.
I wonder if I chat with them about getting free shipping on payday 2 by adding it to my 2 games I bought earlier this morning would it work. Cause I want it but I'm not paying $26 cause of shipping.

That did help indeed! How is the controller on the ps4 though? I LOVE the xbox controller.

Stupid me, I bought two things at different times yesterday and paid for shipping on both items. This morning I bought something and added something else to the cart just to get it to $35. Then I remembered I never used my student email to make my account student prime...so I just did it right now and will enjoy 6 months free shipping. Too bad I didnt do it before I wasted 20 bucks on shipping =/

Hmmm, I shall indeed look into that. I want to say Sony and the ps4 will be refreshing and a nice change and maybe be somewhat nastalgic as well for me.
I actually really like the Dualshock 4. I personally really like the Dualshock 3 as well, but it is a step up in comfort and controller. As you probably know, the triggers are fixed, the handle grip things have been extended, and the analog sticks have a new added grip to minimize slippage.. The battery life kind of stinks though :( It's probably around 6-8 hours per charge.
