Here is a list of all the known games on Amazon that come with a gift card or gaming credit. If the Amazon price decreases between your order time and the end of the day of the release date, you'll receive the lowest price. Release date delivery is available on many of these titles, which is free for Amazon Prime members.

The status of these offers fluctuates. Please read the details on the Amazon product page before ordering.

Amazon Credit & GC Deals FAQ by Lucian[hiddenlist]

1. What is Amazon game credit? How is it different than a gift card?
Amazon game credit is a discount off a new order only. This means it cannot be applied to an existing order, unlike a gift card that can be applied at any time. Occasionally, a CAG will report that customer service applied a game credit balance to an existing order, but this is extremely YMMV.

In addition, game credits can only be used on gaming items. This generally includes all games and accessories for consoles, handhelds, and PC shipped and sold by Amazon. Credits usually cannot be used on systems (either console or handheld). As far as digital content is concerned:
- Xbox Live codes sent via email - No
- Xbox Live physical points cards - Yes
- PSN codes sent via email - Yes (confirmed by grantme 7/3/2011)
- PSN physical wallet cards - Yes (someone please confirm via PM)
- PC game downloads - Not sure (someone please advise via PM)

2. What about the expiration date? Does this mean I can't use it on a preorder that releases after the expiration date?
The expiration date is the date by which a qualifying order must be placed. The order does not need to ship by that date; however, if you cancel the order after the the credit expires, it is gone and cannot be recovered.

3. Can I stack game credit?
Yes, you can stack game credit to your heart's content. However, remember that each game credit has an expiration date and must be used prior to the expiration date. Currently, Amazon does not provide information on your credit balance through their website, so either track it yourself or call customer service for assistance.

4. When will I get my game credit or gift card?
The exact timeframe is specified on the product page in the section detailing the game credit, but it is usually 2 business days. The game credit or gift card will be deposited into your account and you should receive an email notification once that occurs. Of course, it is possible for email delivery failure, so you can check your account depending on the type of bonus:
- Gift card - Go to your account and check your gift card balance
- Game credit - See FAQ #9 below 'How can I check my credit balance?'

Please wait the expected time frame before contacting customer service asking for your credit.

5. Can I use game credit and gift cards on the same order?
Yes.

6. I want to order two (2) copies of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 because of the $15 game credit. Will I get $30 in credit?
No. Game credit offers are limited to 1 per household per title, so you will only receive 1 game credit.

7. What if I order one (1) copy of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 for PS3 and one (1) copy for Xbox 360? Will I get 2 game game credits now?
No. CAGs have reported only receiving 1 credit per title even though the titles are for different platforms (i.e., have different SKUs).

8. A credit was just added to a game that I already had preordered. Do I need to cancel my order to qualify for the credit?
No. To date, all game credit promotions have had verbiage indicating that This offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders.. To be 'safe', you may want to get a screenshot of the promotion as proof should you need to contact customer service after the game ships.

9. How can I check my credit balance?
Place a preorder for any title to see how much promotional credit is applied. Cancel the order and the promotional credit will be released back to your account as long as it has not yet expired.

Also, Amazon recently added the ability to view your balance on the MP3 download screen. Go to any MP3 download page and look for a blue splat with a $ in it; it's right below the purchase button. Click the link next to the blue splat that says 'Redeem a gift card or promotion code & view balance' and a pop-up will display available credit. Videogame credits will display under the category 'SOFTWARE/VIDEO GAMES', but may contain credit applicable only to software downloads.

Other Amazon-related questions

1. Why does my order say the estimated ship date is a week after release?
Amazon prioritizes shipping for Prime members and those who paid for shipping over those taking advantage of their Free Super Saver Shipping (FSSS) option. Sometimes this means that a preorder will not ship for a few days after release, though I've never had an order take as long as they estimate. I expect their estimates accomplish 2 things:
- It covers their worst case scenario backlog and makes you feel better when it ships earlier than estimated.
- It's a nice marketing ploy to get you to either pay for shipping or sign-up for Amazon Prime.

2. My Amazon Prime or Prime trial is going to expire in a few days. What happens to my existing orders or preorders?
Amazon Prime (whether a full membership or a trial) applies to all orders placed during the Prime membership period. This means that if you preorder an item that ships months after your Prime expires, that order will still be covered under your Prime benefits (i.e., free standard or 2-day shipping and sometimes release-date delivery). If an item becomes eligible for Release Date Delivery (RDD) and you already have it preordered with 2-day shipping, it will automatically be upgraded to RDD even if your Prime has since expired. However, if you need to change the payment method (e.g., if your credit card has expired) on an order after your Prime has expired, your Prime benefits on that order will be lost. In this situation, you can apply a gift card balance without affecting Prime benefits.

Argh, my bad. I figured it was something regular and I was a bit tired when I posted it. It's if you receive the e-mail from amazon only, sorry. Should've read the bottom print the first time around. Well, check your e-mail.
note to O.P. we just bought Modern Warfare 2 for $59.99 and we got $20 credit eventhough it says $10
nice, going to check this out.

Damn, did Amazon have anything for Bayonetta before? Just played the demo and it's fucking pure of win. Hopefully they'll put up some kind of credit if they didn't before .

Would it be possible for bioshock 2 to show up in my quick picks/gold box or something as well or is that just false hopes in my mind? Want to get but not sure if I should wait.

if you CAN wait, then wait. Don't rush things. There are always deals!

You can get it in your quick picks. Go to Improve Recommendations, click "Don't Use for Recommendations" on all your past purchases. Then go to BioShock 2 and click the items that people have bought together. At those items, click you own them and rate them 5 stars. Should show up in your quick picks eventually.

Anyone ever get a gamed added to their order from their quick picks? I don't know how I would go about doing that. Order first and ask to combine, or don't and mention it's in my quick picks when asking to have it ordered.

I would try it the 2nd way. It looks better IMO.

Does anyone know if I can use my CODMW2 $20 gaming credit on pre-orders like Halo Reach. My credit expires February 28th I think.

Yeah you can use it on future purchases.

I do not know where I will be living at the time of release of Halo Reach, can I change the shipping information of the order after its been placed? (college student)

Yeah you could change it anytime before it hits the shipping process. Just make sure to change it around the time it gets released.
For anyone making purchases at amazon now or putting money on pre-orders, they're doing a buy a 50$ gift card get 5 off your next purchase. Since you can apply gift card/credit to already existing orders, it's an easy way to get 5 bucks extra if you can afford the 50 now(or multiple 50's if that works fine?)
I just got the email about this. The fine print says:
Receive $5 off a future Amazon.com retail order when you purchase an Amazon.com Gift Card of $50 or greater in a single purchase between December 17, 2009, and December 25, 2009. If you make a single purchase of a $50 or greater Amazon.com Gift Card and do not cancel, a promotional code of $5 will be sent to this e-mail address by January 25, 2010, and is good for one month from the date of the e-mail. Offer good for customers receiving this e-mail only. One $5 code per customer. Code may be applied only to products sold by Amazon.com and does not apply to products sold by third-party merchants and other sellers through the Amazon.com site. Restrictions apply. See www.amazon.com/promos for complete details.
Has anyone done this yet?

I did it a while back and they sent me a $5 code. Code expires one month from date of e-mail as stated in fine print. I already used my code to order Tekken 6 when it was on sale for 19.99. I think the code might be tied to the orderer's user-account but I'm not entirely sure.

Yup I just got another e-mail with a new start/ending date

How fast did Amazon send you the promo code? I went ahead and bought a $50 gc yesterday but haven't gotten a code email.

It'll take a while. I bought a $50 GC on November 30th and the code didn't come until December 16th. Well they sent an e-mail a week earlier, but they didn't have the actual code. Amazon fixed that problem by themselves though. Keep in mind it's a coupon though, so you have one month from date of e-mail to use it.

Nice to see a $10 promo credit deal added to Mass Effect 2. I've had the game on preorder for several months though. I've noticed some people have had problems with promo credits not being issued for early preorders, but I don't want to reorder again. I already canceled and reordered around Thanksgiving time to take advantage of the Discover deal.

I'm getting ME2 from Amazon anyways for release date delivery so $10 gift credit is a nice bonus. I was tempted to get the collector's edition but no instant $3 discount on top of no $10 credit makes it an easy choice to get the Standard.

Dark Void and Dante's Inferno both have $10 game credit now.

Edit: MAG and Army of Two: The 40th Day also have a $10 promo credit now

ME2 has a credit now? Yes!

And Dante's Inferno? DOUBLE YES!

I'm not getting any of those others. Still, it's nice to know after the fall and holiday season they're continuing to push all these credits. I already have like every game I want pre-ordered from them, but with the credits you can get accessories or downloadable games as well which is nice and what I used half my credit from the fall games on.

Not sure if anyone is planning on picking up the game, but it also has a $10 credit attached when you pre-order. Game comes out February 9.
Too bad its not for the Mass Effect 2 CE :(
Yeah, my thoughts exactly... I would just say *beep* it and get the normal version but I have the CE for ME1 and really want that trend to continue.

damn it just two weeks ago i called and upgraded my pre order of ME2 to the collector's edition..but now i think i'm going to have to call again and have them change it back to the normal one lol.

and hm i was interested in dante's inferno...maybe i'll add that along with my ME2 order (it was my last eca order)
When you Pre-order at Amazon, do they bill credit card at time of order or when it ships?
when it ships
Could I buy the gift card ($50) and then preorder it for 50 or would it still be 60?
Are you asking if you buy the game for $60 and then get the $10 gift card, can you just buy the game for $50? If that's it, then the answer is, unfortunately, no. You get the gift card code when your order ships.

I was given a 75 dollar AmEx gift card for Christmas, and was wanting to buy something at Amazon for 100. Is there a way to tell them to take 75 from the gift credit card and then I could pay the remainder myself? I am looking for a way to accomplish this but I don't see it. Perhaps I'm overlooking something? I'm turning to you oh CAG experts of Amazon.
