Here is a list of all the known games on Amazon that come with a gift card or gaming credit. If the Amazon price decreases between your order time and the end of the day of the release date, you'll receive the lowest price. Release date delivery is available on many of these titles, which is free for Amazon Prime members.

The status of these offers fluctuates. Please read the details on the Amazon product page before ordering.

Amazon Credit & GC Deals FAQ by Lucian[hiddenlist]

1. What is Amazon game credit? How is it different than a gift card?
Amazon game credit is a discount off a new order only. This means it cannot be applied to an existing order, unlike a gift card that can be applied at any time. Occasionally, a CAG will report that customer service applied a game credit balance to an existing order, but this is extremely YMMV.

In addition, game credits can only be used on gaming items. This generally includes all games and accessories for consoles, handhelds, and PC shipped and sold by Amazon. Credits usually cannot be used on systems (either console or handheld). As far as digital content is concerned:
- Xbox Live codes sent via email - No
- Xbox Live physical points cards - Yes
- PSN codes sent via email - Yes (confirmed by grantme 7/3/2011)
- PSN physical wallet cards - Yes (someone please confirm via PM)
- PC game downloads - Not sure (someone please advise via PM)

2. What about the expiration date? Does this mean I can't use it on a preorder that releases after the expiration date?
The expiration date is the date by which a qualifying order must be placed. The order does not need to ship by that date; however, if you cancel the order after the the credit expires, it is gone and cannot be recovered.

3. Can I stack game credit?
Yes, you can stack game credit to your heart's content. However, remember that each game credit has an expiration date and must be used prior to the expiration date. Currently, Amazon does not provide information on your credit balance through their website, so either track it yourself or call customer service for assistance.

4. When will I get my game credit or gift card?
The exact timeframe is specified on the product page in the section detailing the game credit, but it is usually 2 business days. The game credit or gift card will be deposited into your account and you should receive an email notification once that occurs. Of course, it is possible for email delivery failure, so you can check your account depending on the type of bonus:
- Gift card - Go to your account and check your gift card balance
- Game credit - See FAQ #9 below 'How can I check my credit balance?'

Please wait the expected time frame before contacting customer service asking for your credit.

5. Can I use game credit and gift cards on the same order?
Yes.

6. I want to order two (2) copies of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 because of the $15 game credit. Will I get $30 in credit?
No. Game credit offers are limited to 1 per household per title, so you will only receive 1 game credit.

7. What if I order one (1) copy of Newborn Ninja Assassins 2 for PS3 and one (1) copy for Xbox 360? Will I get 2 game game credits now?
No. CAGs have reported only receiving 1 credit per title even though the titles are for different platforms (i.e., have different SKUs).

8. A credit was just added to a game that I already had preordered. Do I need to cancel my order to qualify for the credit?
No. To date, all game credit promotions have had verbiage indicating that This offer will be extended to all existing pre-orders.. To be 'safe', you may want to get a screenshot of the promotion as proof should you need to contact customer service after the game ships.

9. How can I check my credit balance?
Place a preorder for any title to see how much promotional credit is applied. Cancel the order and the promotional credit will be released back to your account as long as it has not yet expired.

Also, Amazon recently added the ability to view your balance on the MP3 download screen. Go to any MP3 download page and look for a blue splat with a $ in it; it's right below the purchase button. Click the link next to the blue splat that says 'Redeem a gift card or promotion code & view balance' and a pop-up will display available credit. Videogame credits will display under the category 'SOFTWARE/VIDEO GAMES', but may contain credit applicable only to software downloads.

Other Amazon-related questions

1. Why does my order say the estimated ship date is a week after release?
Amazon prioritizes shipping for Prime members and those who paid for shipping over those taking advantage of their Free Super Saver Shipping (FSSS) option. Sometimes this means that a preorder will not ship for a few days after release, though I've never had an order take as long as they estimate. I expect their estimates accomplish 2 things:
- It covers their worst case scenario backlog and makes you feel better when it ships earlier than estimated.
- It's a nice marketing ploy to get you to either pay for shipping or sign-up for Amazon Prime.

2. My Amazon Prime or Prime trial is going to expire in a few days. What happens to my existing orders or preorders?
Amazon Prime (whether a full membership or a trial) applies to all orders placed during the Prime membership period. This means that if you preorder an item that ships months after your Prime expires, that order will still be covered under your Prime benefits (i.e., free standard or 2-day shipping and sometimes release-date delivery). If an item becomes eligible for Release Date Delivery (RDD) and you already have it preordered with 2-day shipping, it will automatically be upgraded to RDD even if your Prime has since expired. However, if you need to change the payment method (e.g., if your credit card has expired) on an order after your Prime has expired, your Prime benefits on that order will be lost. In this situation, you can apply a gift card balance without affecting Prime benefits.
Just got this email:
Hello,

We’re writing again to let you know the pre-order codes for the Dead Rising 2 Avatar Outfits have been delayed indefinitely.

We’re very sorry about this. To help make up for the disappointment, we want to offer a 50% off promotional certificate to use toward the purchase of the Xbox 360 version of Marvel vs Capcom 3 sold and shipped by Amazon.com. Here’s your code:
Thanks for the heads up. I got one as well. I would rather have received my avatar outfit though.
Thanks for the info. Saved me from writing an email to amazon trying to explain the DLC code wasn't working. :applause:
Yeah, unfortunately, I called Sony right now but need to call back in two hours... Apparently, the folks I need to talk too don't have a 24 hour rotation.

Surprisingly received my $30 credit for my Kinect/qualifying game purchase without having to email Amazon. Since each was added manually to an existing order by an Amazon CSR (to get the undying ECA discount), I assumed the credit was going to get botched. At 30% off with $30 back in credit, Kinect is worth a try.
I got my $30 credit from Kinect this morning.
I haven't received mine yet :( Support told me to wait and if I haven't received it by tomorrow, to contact them again.

I just got my Dead Rising 2 avatar code. So after several apologies in the form of credits, I finally get the code anyway. Hilarious.
Amazon has a $5 game credit for The Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare game for PS3/360. Not bad I guess when it's only $30 anyway.

I think Kmart will be having a deal on this too but no clue what the deal is yet.
I hope this credit sticks around until I get my Need for Speed $20 credit.

Oh man. Finally got my Dead Rising Avatar code. I thought for sure after the extra $10 gc and the 50% off MVC3, that it was gone for good. Props to amazon.
Not sure if anyone has addressed this yet, but I got an email today telling me that Amazon just put the $20 GC for CoD: Black Ops back up. It's now listed as "200 Pre-order Bonus Points", which instantly turn into a $20 GC when you pre-order the game.

I'm glad I waited for the GC! :)
when does the $20 gaming credit expire?

Did anyone who preordered a Hardened or Prestige Edition of CoD get an email today saying it was canceled? One of the Ragtag CAG's had his order canceled today without his consent and he preordered the Hardened Edition back in Sept.

Gran Turismo 5 is $54.99 on Amazon at the moment. You can still get the $10 video game credit plus an in-game car by pre-ordering. Might be a good idea to lockdown the lower price for now.

But is it ever coming out?

Quick question, I couldn't see an answer in the FAQ. I have a game preordered with $30 worth of gaming credits applied to it. I wanted to cancel that order and swap it to a different game. My game credits arent meant to expire till Jan 2011. Will they transfer across to the new order or have they already been used up by being applied to my existing order?

Thanks for the help.

They should return to your account when you cancel the order.

that picture is priceless in so many way.

Still that man's reason for delaying the game is sure to reflect in the great quality of GTV.

He made a mistake releasing a unfinished/unpolished game early in his career as director, he vowed never to make the same mistake.

I respect him for it.

Hmm... if I bought the Kinect + Dance Masters, and also bought another Kinect game (Dance Central), would I get both the $20 credit and 50% off of Dance Central? I put them in my cart and went through the motions and I do get DC for 50% off, but I'm not sure if I'm going to then forfeit the $20 credit or not. Anyone tried this?

Nope...my hardened copy shipped and it was pre-ordered in October.
Gears of War 3 was in my Gold Box today, so I bit. 56.99 with a $20 video game credit. Sucks that the game was delayed though :(
Indeed it does suck. :(

Got MvC 3 for 28.99 and $10 credit, AND Amazon sent me the Dead Rising 2 code a little after the 50% code, sweeet.

Is there a place to locate where your game credits / game bonus points are? I want to confirm that they gave me what they said they did.

It's easiest just to go through checkout with a game and see if it applies the discount. You dont have to actually place the order.

Can anybody explain to me the difference between gaming credits and bonus points?

For instance, you pre-order a qualifying game and get a $10 gaming credit when the order is shipped. So, what is the 200 points for CoD:BO is about? Can they just offer $20 gaming credit, I mean why switching to the point system all of sudden?

I already own Uncharted but would like to give the other games a spin since they are really cheap.

What's this about an ECA discount? I put them out of my mind ever since that account payment debacle. Are we allowed to use some sort of discount on Gamestop/EBGames?

I think it had to do with Activison bitching, I don't think they are introducing a new system, they just had to go out of their way to make up some point system for Black Ops.

I wouldn't do that...sometimes you end up losing the credit when you clear out your cart. It's happened to me a couple times already.

Best bet is to contact Amazon support or the MP3 credit link might have it too, though last I checked it wasn't accurate for me.

AH! THANKS! Now it makes sense... Same thing with K-mart's reward system for Black Ops, there's no gaming coupon but reward points, I see...

Ordered Call of Duty: Black Ops back when it had the $20 video game credit promotional offer (not the point system). Never received my credit so I emailed Amazon today and they simply refunded me $20. Works for me.

Just got my black ops credit, so in case anyone hasn't received the credit yet, they are still sending them out. I had preordered with the laser cell.
Nothing wrong with that..

LOL, Larry Flynt, is that you?!

Can you stack credit? I was going to use the one from Black Ops ($20) and next weeks Assassin Creed ($15) to have $35 towards Dead Space 2.
