F.A.Q.S.:

1. Does the game I'm buying from Amazon Activate on Steam/Origin/Uplay? What DRM does the game use?

There are two places to identify DRM on a digital video game detail page:

At the top of the page, below the title:

16hm7a8.png

In the "Product Description" section:

r06ykl.jpg

2. Note on Electronic Arts Games - For the most part, EA games sold on Amazon do not activate on Steam. Most activate on Origin.

3. Note on DRM with limited activations:

Our Policy

4. Sometimes I'll do giveaways.

5. I work with developers and publishers to get fun (or at least what I think is fun) content to share with you all. Here are some examples:

a. Check out the Pax Gameplay videos here: Xcom: Enemy Unknown I played Xcom with Jake, the Creative Director for the game, a few months before the game came out Also, on this page, check out the Q&A, also a community driven event.

b. Check out the interview on this page: Borderlands 2 we did this interview at E3 with Randy Pitchford this year.

c. We've partnered with the ++GoodGames Podcast to feature many of the games we carry. They talk to the developers about the game development process, how the games are conceptualized and managed, all kinds of fun stuff. I'm working on putting together full link list and will update when I have it.

What else do we sell?

Xbox Live Points and Subscriptions:

1600 Microsoft Live Points
4000 Microsoft Live Points
12 Month XBOX Live Subscription
3 Month XBOX Live Subscription]
12 Month + 1 XBOX Live Subscription
That's interesting... I had to reply to the CSR and explicitly state that I wanted a refund. (After I bought the wrong Majesty bundle last week.)
I think the problem was that the rep thought he could simply refund me so that I could use the refunded money to rebuy the version that I wanted. He (or she) didn't realize that I bought the game on sale.

That's exactly what I did with my refund. At least you should get a second chance to get the Steam keys. :)

E: Are the deals supposed to have started already?

Well since Tony isn't here at the moment to update the OP, I figure that the next best thing would be for somebody to quote his post with this week's deals so it's easier to find.

EDIT: Changed the links to the individual games to lime green. Blue against black is too hard to read.

I have also e-mailed support due to various issues before and had then just refund me when that was not what I asked for. From my phone conversations with them, I believe there is often a language barrier.

On the upside, all of the Paradox packs are still discounted. So if you've taken your sweet ass time about buying any of them, you're in luck.

Just imagine that there's a picture of an air horn here.

(I'm not allowed to post images yet. :whistle2:#)

Jet Set Radio surprised me with how well it has held up graphically. The cell-shaded style with flat textures doesn't look dated. And no prices haven't flipped yet.

Lol this is adorable. They are running, sorry I had to wake them up, apparently they've grown lax and think they just sleep on the job whenever they'd like now.

I already raised the white flag -- it seems like AvP is highly unpopular. Probably just wait for single deals on Viking and maybe Hell Yeah.

It works out to ~$1.25, so it's hard to believe that it isn't worth that much... unless you already have it.

$1.25? Anyway, don't have it but zero interest in it.
$1.25?
$3.75 ($15 less 75%) for each of Condemned, Hell Yeah, and Viking; $7.5 for Binary Domain ($40 less 75% less 25%) => $18.75.

Ah, I see. Still, was only really looking to pick up two of those at the $3.75ish price range and would have dispensed with the rest. Not a Binary Domain fan, either (a rarity for sure).

The pricing history of those Sonic Genesis games is kind of interesting and there definitely have been less deals on them overall than the other Genesis games.

http://www.steamprices.com/us/app/71162/sonic-3-and-knuckles
http://www.steamgamesales.com/DywCd/sonic-3-and-knuckles
http://wastedonsteam.com/usd/games/71162/998

Taking Sonic 3 as an example, it was released to Steam January 2011, the lowest price they have ever sold it was for $1.24 at 75% off during a Sega Publisher weekend September 22nd 2011 and it hasn't been that cheap since even during the big sales.

Wastedonsteam is reporting they were $1.24 individually 14 days ago on Amazon. Presumably this was a black Friday week thing and also presumably those individual Genesis titles at that point were not Steam.

It's also worth noting that Greenmangaming currently has the Genesis Sonic games at 50% off plus you can use the code GMG30-DEC01-ARFC9 to bring it down another 30% to $1.74 but the versions they are selling are not steam and require the capsule client so are technically not DRM free either. (Though judging what others have said about those Genesis packs, you could probably just copy the Sonic data to the Steam directly and then have it appear in the Genesis emulator launcher)

*Edit: Weekly deal prices for Amazon are live and individual Sonic titles outside of the pack appear not to be on sale.

I'm unclear if the individual Genesis games like Sonic and Toejam and Earl are going back on sale with Steam versions this time or just the packs but given that some of the Sonic games individually now have entries for steam as well as non-steam versions I am guessing maybe they will go back on sale?

Toejam and Earl still only has the non-steam version on Amazon though as far as I can tell.

When Tony first posted the deals for this week, the Genesis pack was the first thing that jumped out at me. That was before I realized that it wasn't the same pack that they had a few months ago.

I think I'm gonna pass on this one for now. Sooner or later there will be a repeat of the last bundle that they did with the Sonic plus the Toejam & Earl games included. I'd even be willing yo pay a little bit more if they could get that done. I believe it was $7.50 when it was offered before. Of course, there were no steam keys with that version. But if Tony could do a steam and non-steam version with this bundle, I'm sure he could get steam keys for a repeat of the last bundle.
Besides Billy Hatcher, all these games activate on Steam?
That is correct.

I believe there are non-steam versions of some of the bundles, but all the links in the OP are for the steam versions.

I think it was Sega themselves that pulled those Sonic games from the Sega Genesis Classics Packs probably realizing they had enough pull to sell them on their own. If you look at those packs on Steam they don't even have Sonic in any of them anymore but they did when they first came out.

*Edit okay I guess you are referring to this bundle that I think was last on sale in March? It didn't have pack 5 though (wasn't released at that point) and not sure if he will get to run this deal again. Maybe I guess.

Was hoping that Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing [Download] would be ala carte, but it's full price. Nothing for me this week I guess, I have everything else in the bundle.

Grabbed the Genesis pack as that seemed good enough for $5.

Also just wanted to throw out there that I have the Lego Harry Potter games (Steam keys) available from the previous sale. I might be interested in Hell Yeah, Dreamcast Collection (or just Crazy Taxi/Sonic if they separate), or perhaps some Sonic or Total War games from the pack for those who might own some already.

For anyone that has the Dreamcast games on Steam ... are they "HD" versions of the games or are they straight ports? Mainly just wondering if they have widescreen support now since they did not back on the DC.

FYI I mentioned this a while back when we introduced the current bundle (with the 5 sega classics packs in it). This pack is intended to replace the other one.

Cheers,
Tony

I bought the dreamcast pack when it first went live a week or so ago with only jet set radio on steam. Kind of disappointing to see they all come with steam keys now.

Question on the dreamcast/sega genesis collections...

Are they 360 controller (or any controller really) friendly, or are they all keyboard?
anyone know if once i purchase one of these bundles from Amazon if i can somehow gift the games to a friend on Steam?
Assuming it is a steam activated bundle of games, just give your friend the steam key(s) provided to you by Amazon.

Awesome! As soon as I realised that Sega Genesis Classics Pack was now for Steam... couldn't resist to buy instantly! :D

Thanks, Tony!

Throwing it out there one last time since the deals are live: I already have AvP, Binary Domain, and Hell Yeah from the Sega Action collection. I only want Condemned and Viking, so I'd like to buy them if anyone is selling. I'm willing to pay $6.00 and trade keys for Saints Row: The Third and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Plus! A bonus key that I don't know for sure works or not anymore but found in an email.

Or, I'll pay 3.99 each and maybe trade one of the keys mentioned above.

You could have gotten part 5 alone for 1.24 about a week ago. That and the pack you mentioned also had some sonic games and a few other extras.

I'm still disappointed the dreamcast pack now includes all steam games. Thinking of emailing CS to ask for some steam keys as the pack I bought a week ago did not include them.
