These ping my email address and make it more likely that I will see your question and respond more quickly.

F.A.Q.S.:

1. Does the game I'm buying from Amazon Activate on Steam/Origin/Uplay? What DRM does the game use?

There are two places to identify DRM on a digital video game detail page:

At the top of the page, below the title:

16hm7a8.png

In the "Product Description" section:

r06ykl.jpg

2. Note on Electronic Arts Games - For the most part, EA games sold on Amazon do not activate on Steam. Most activate on Origin.

3. Note on DRM with limited activations:

Our Policy

4. Sometimes I'll do giveaways.

5. I work with developers and publishers to get fun (or at least what I think is fun) content to share with you all. Here are some examples:

a. Check out the Pax Gameplay videos here: Xcom: Enemy Unknown I played Xcom with Jake, the Creative Director for the game, a few months before the game came out Also, on this page, check out the Q&A, also a community driven event.

b. Check out the interview on this page: Borderlands 2 we did this interview at E3 with Randy Pitchford this year.

c. We've partnered with the ++GoodGames Podcast to feature many of the games we carry. They talk to the developers about the game development process, how the games are conceptualized and managed, all kinds of fun stuff. I'm working on putting together full link list and will update when I have it.

What else do we sell?

Xbox Live Points and Subscriptions:

1600 Microsoft Live Points
4000 Microsoft Live Points
12 Month XBOX Live Subscription
3 Month XBOX Live Subscription]
12 Month + 1 XBOX Live Subscription

PSN+ Subscriptions and PSN Points:

$20 PSN Points
$50 PSN Points

We also have a Free-2-Play store supported by our GameConnect technology. Gameconnect allows you to link your Amazon.com account with free-2-play and MMO accounts so that you can buy things like in game currency, premium game time/subscriptions, in game items, etc. on Amazon.com using your Amazon.com payment options and have this content delivered directly into your game.

GamersGate, the reigning king of pricing errors.

BL2 4-pack for $5.63! I mean $11.45! Crap, I actually mean $120.00

Tony, thanks you for the terrific support you have given fellow CAG's. As for me, thanks for the deals!

So far from this sale I have picked up:
Bastion
2K Strategy Pack
Total War Collection
Missed Alan Wake: Collector's Edition, thanks for the oportunity though!
Guessing a lurker got it.
It likely will not be on the EC list.

Cheers,
Tony
Which game are you reffering to? I think the post was deleted.

Tony,

The only things I've bought from Amazon during this holiday sale are:

Mafia 1

Reason being is that I bought everything else during your other sales. If/when the following go on sale I'll buy them too:

- Sword of the Stars II Enhanced
- Rocksmith (early Jan)
- The Secret World (early Jan)

Was wishing for a slightly better price for TSW. Was hoping for $14.99, so it'd come in at $10. Not sure why that $2 matters, but I'll have to consider it more than I would at $10. Still, great to see that it'll be an option!
Can someone please tell me if this is separate steam keys or stand alone? What, if any, DRM is it?

King's Bounty Platinum

Also - Tony...Fallen Enchantress? Is Amazon going to carry it for DD?
Bought that pack in April during a sale, will NOT activate on Steam. And you have a limited number of activations.
Which game are you reffering to? I think the post was deleted.
Hitman Absolution
Is the 2012 Editor's Choice list complete? Will more games be added before the $5 discount is activated in January?
Things will continue to be added in January.
Does Civ V GOTY include ALL DLC (excl. Gods and Kings)? I think I read somewhere that it was missing a couple DLC maps or something.
You could compare DLC list on Civ 5 Steam Page vs. what's listed on Steam page for Civ V: GOTY Edition.

Here's what's in Civ 5: GOTY Edition:
Includes the Following Civilization V content
All 4 Cradle of Civilization Map Packs (Mediterranean, Asia, Americas, Mesopotamia)
Civilization Pack: Babylon (Nebuchadnezzar II)
Double Civilization and Scenario Pack: Spain and Inca
Civilization and Scenario Pack: Polynesia
Civilization and Scenario Pack: Denmark - The Vikings
Explorer’s Map Pack
Official Digital Soundtrack (Soundtrack not available on the Mac)

EDIT:
Civ V GOTY is missing these two DLC: http://www.amazon.com/Civilization-Korea-Ancient-World-Online/dp/B005HEA2FC/
Thanks for the summary! :D

SoTS 2 was in a pack with other games for $10 -- could have easily sold off CK2 for $5.

Thanks for the link as i was about to purchase both seperately. Saved me 63 cents! :applause:

Awesome... I'm hoping to see Rayman: Origins, Spec Ops: The Line, Binary Domain, LA Noire, Alan Wake, and Alan Wake's American Nightmare make it on to that list.
Sorry yo :(.

No problem, Im really thankful for all the deals you got us this year, Tony. Keep up the good work.:applause:

Oh, I'd like to see Rayman: Origins hit the EC List at $9.99 (like it was during UbiSoft Holiday Sale before any coupons) or less!!!
Awesome... I'm hoping to see Rayman: Origins, Spec Ops: The Line, Binary Domain, LA Noire, Alan Wake, and Alan Wake's American Nightmare make it on to that list.
I hope Batman AC Goty gets to EC (with a nice discount). It'll be a nice and easy upgrade to GOTY for us who bought the "vanilla" edition back then.

Spec Ops The line 10$ before 5$ coupon ???? :====D?:lol::lol:
I actually think Korea might be in Gods & Kings but I'm not 100% sure (and I'm too lazy to go look at the store page).
According to the Civilization wiki Gods and Kings does not include Korea, however it does include Spain which previously was its own DLC and included in the GOTY edition of the base game.

New content:
Civilizations and leaders
Carthage: Dido of Carthage
Netherlands: William I
Celts: Boudicca
Maya: Pacal II
Byzantines: Theodora
Huns: Attila the Hun
Austrian: Maria Theresa
Ethiopia: Haile Selassie
Sweden: Gustavus Adolphus
Spain: Isabella (previously added in the Inca and Spain DLC)

So, with Tony saying the EC list will be updated through January, does that mean that as late as January 31 new games could be added? I don't think I will go through all my EC coupons, but on the off chance that I do find enough games, I don't want to use the last coupon and then another comes up. Just wondering if I should hold onto at least one coupon until the last day

Yes, that's what it means~ Fortunately I have like 10 coupons.

Here's my purchase list dating from November. Each of these (except Zeno Clash I think) I believe awarded me a $5 credit for next month's Editor's Choice list. Needless to say, I have a lot of credits I intend to burn next month:
 • Sega Genesis Classics (already own most of these but wanted to backfill some gaps in my Steam version)
 • Dead Island GOTY
 • L.A. Noir DLC pack
 • LEGO Lord of the Rings
 • Blades of Time LE
 • Tantalizing THQ Medley
 • Garshasp: The Monster Slayer
 • Garshasp: Temple of the Dragon
 • Alice: Madness Returns the Complete Collection (includes the original Alice)
 • Darksiders Franchise Pack (already own both games and several DSII DLC packs, but bought anyway to fill out my DLC and gift out the rest)
 • Sonic Generations Casino Night DLC (I was very happy Amazon carried this after all)
 • Batman Arkham City Robin DLC (thanks so much for price matching these, Tony)
 • Batman Arkham City Nightwing DLC
 • Batman Arkham City Harley's Revenge DLC
 • Zeno Clash
 • Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Augmented Edition
 • The Walking Dead: The Game (my favorite game this year, hands down)
 • LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes
 • Prototype Pack
 • Kingdoms of Amalur Complete Bundle
 • Batman Arkham Action Pack

I'm pretty sure Xcom is going to make the EC list but I can't tell if it'll be lower than GMG's price today ughhhhh
I'm pretty sure Xcom is going to make the EC list but I can't tell if it'll be lower than GMG's price today ughhhhh
I would say it wouldnt be any lowere than $25 before coupon and gmg is cheaper than that right now I believe
(less than $20 is an absolute steal - goty)

I've got 8 EC credits, most likely will get Dark Souls. Still on the fence with TSW and ME3...

Hmm, too lazy to go back through the pages. Tony, any way we can get the OP updated with games that will be added to the EC list that aren't part of the 30 31 already on the site? Or even update the site to display more than the current 30 31?

I refreshed the link and noticed there are 31 now.

Hmmmm, should I get the WTF Pack for Darkness II and resell the keys for DNF & Borderlands or get the Desert to Sea bundle for Spec Ops and resell the Bioshock keys? Both Darkness II or Spec OPS will go in my backlog as I don't have the PC to play them yet.

Kinda feel that there'll be more sales on Spec Ops in 2013 so I might be better off getting Darkness II for cheap now. But wouldn't the Bioshock keys be easier to sell at let's say $2/ea or $3/both?
Spec Ops: The Line's story is absolutely OUTSTANDING.
This is where my evil Codexian nature will shine through: 2Deep4u storyline with mediocre third person shooter gameplay. It tries to be a commentary of derpy modern shooters but at the same time just puts yet another derpy modern shooter on the market. To each their own, though.
this statement has been verified as opinion
Agreed.

Crystal ball says...check out the Steam group buy thread to see if anyone wants any of these games. You could also put out a post saying that you're looking to split an Amazon pack that you have a coupon for and offer a choice -- Bioshock 1 & 2 for $3 or Borderlands for $2, with an option to also buy DNF at $1. First person who contact you positively makes your choice for you. :)

Because you're not likely to get much lower than $3 for a newer game that isn't in a bundle. GMG is always a wildcard with its coupons stacking on a discount, but I think they mostly try to stay around there as the absolute lowest they will go.
Update, these will be on sale in January AND added to the Editor's Choice List:

1/1-1/2:

The Secret World
- $17.99

1/1-1/5:

Mass Effect Trilogy - 29.99
Kingdoms of Amalur Complete Bundle - 14.99
Medal of Honor: Warfighter - 26.99
Mass Effect 3 - 14.99
Mass Effect 3 Digital Deluxe Version - 19.99
Battlefield 3: Premium Edition - 35.99
Need for Speed Most Wanted - Standard Edition - 29.99
FIFA Soccer 13 - 19.99
FIFA Manager 13 - 19.99
Command and Conquer The Ultimate Collection - 29.99

Cheers,
Tony
Hopefully this list does not represent all of EA's contribution to the Editor's Choice list. I'd love to see a repeat of all the Sims 3 packs (or at least the half-dozen packs released in 2012) on the EC list.

I'm up to 15 EC coupons, gotta use 'em somehow!

Meh

Hope 2K, WB, THQ, and Ubi give us better deals

Some, decent deals on newish games for the EC list. Looks like EA learned a bit from their awful one day sale with coupon. Nothing for me, but promising for the month of January.
