Pre-Order Borderlands 2 from us for 10% off and help me get a tattoo! Yes it activates on Steam!

I am a huge Borderlands 2 fan and I want this to be our best selling pre-order ever. So I've drawn a line in the sand. If, from now until launch, we take 40,000 more preorders than where we were on 7/2/2012 I will get a Borderlands tattoo on my back.
I'm not seeing the X-COM Complete Pack. It's listed in the first post as starting today...is it still expected?

Grabbed Divinity 2 and The Last Remnant, still not sure about the Mafia games but I'll probably pick them up too. Waiting on the XCOM Collection to go live. Keep up the good work, and happy belated birthday Tony!
Thanks man! to comment on the Xcom collection, it should be going live today, if not tomorrow at the latest.
Tony, my man. Any chance of a little game called RISEN 2 getting some love in this sale?
BWAHAHAHAHAH I wish...I'd love to put any of the Deep Silver stuff in this promo.
Whatever man, those Commandos games are SUPER casual!11
Commandos are so hardcore they kill stuff casually...get it? Casual.

In all seriousness I'm going to work with the site merchandising team today to get the casual page revamped and a bit more sortable.

Stay tuned and thanks for posting this.
A couple of q's - the games on the "weekend $4.99 sale" page have changed. Who won the last vote (after RCT3)? I thought it would be Game of Thrones: Genesis but I don't see a price change on that.

Also, I'm sure this has been asked before but can you buy multiple copies of games on Amazon DD to get gift keys?
I just updated the pricing on this on our backend, let the hamsters catch up...they are tired from last night.

As for your second question, yes, please buy 130209320932032 copies to gift...think of how many friends you'll have!

Seriously though, if you buy multiple copies we'll just keep adding line items in your account with new keys.

Cheers,
Tony

Thanks, Tony! Belated birthday greetings and please pass my apologies on to those hard-working hamsters!

Tony, I know the fact that Tomb Raider: Underworld is not a Steam key has been beaten to death. What I'd like to know is, if I hold out, is there any way or chance that you guys can get a version that will activate on Steam? Or, is this one of those games that just never will, outside of buying it from Steam directly?
Thanks!

anyone grabbing just cause 2, strongly recommend some mods, tho maybe after you've played the game for a couple hours to get a feel of the vanilla

Tony, thanks for the deals on Divinity II: TDK and Bioshock 2-pack. Instant purchases.

There's more I'm going to look over as the deals go live, though you did get some of my hard-earned Amazon credit. ;)
I wish the stronghold collection activated on Steam. If it did, I'd buy it.
Tony said on Reddit yesterday that they will have a Steam version of the Stronghold collection but it's not ready yet.

To Tony: You might want to add a little blurb about Steam version coming soon or something to that effect to the games that will have Steam keys but aren't ready yet so people don't browse, see no Steam and then move on.
Bioshock 1&2 for $7.49 and also activate on Steam.... bought :applause:

Also Metro for $4.99 for a friend
I am officially confused now. My thought was that 1 version required steam and the other did not.

version 1

requires steam & securerom (it will not activate without steam)

version 2

requires secruerom (but will not activate on steam)

can anyone clear this up for me before I purchase one of the packs?
Anyone who has both Battlestations Midway and Battlestations Pacific, any reason to get them on PC / Steam if I already have them on 360?
Nope, unless you want to go for the other set of achievements for Pacific

I don't see how you are confused, what you posted seems quite clear, if less than concise. I will highlight/bold to help you. ^

Just cashed in some old coins at the coinstar machine. Got $170 of Amazon credit. $70 of it went to my horrible music addiction. I now have $100 to spend at the Mayhem sale :D (hoping to only spend about $50 or so though).

First up is Divinity II because I can't say no to a good WRPG.

my confusion is if the steam version *requires* steam or if that is just an extra option for those who prefer games that load onto steam

(crikes that is a lot of references in a short sentence to the drm that borrows it's name from a state of water)

I'm not really pro or con steam, just no reason to not buy the steam version if you have the either/or option. Have a few pc's set up in my house and if the wife or sons are on one playing a steam game, having the option to play on the other is a nice luxury, especially since only 1 pc can be logged in at a time on steam.

It's either/or hence the reason for two versions. If you don't want or don't care about Steam then buy the other version. Simple. Don't make it more complicated than it is. :p

If I understand correctly, are you asking if the Steam version could be played both outside of Steam AND with Steam at the same time? So essentially, you are asking if you buy the Steam version would you be able to activate a copy on Steam AND run a copy of the game outside of Steam?

From my reading, the Steam version MUST be activated on Steam and will not run without being activated on Steam.

Edit, should have read the first line there. Metro is just steamworks, bioshocks have securom, though I do believe the first has it removed. The second on the other hand is just prob better without steam due to being able to use the dlc for Minerva's den without tinkering too much.

Thank you. :D

And yeah, the option to access it outside of steam if my wife or sons are on steam is a plus. Love DRM free versions of games, but steam auto patching my games is also nice. I may just end up buying both versions. At least the price is point for them is good.

Thanks again for the answer (love the website and community here)

I was able to get Minerva's Den working on the Steam Bioshock 2 without any problems or jumping through any hoops. It verifies through your Games For Windows Live account which you need to run the base game anyway. If that's the only thing stopping you from getting the Steam version then don't let it, it's not a problem.

As for the Securom, I believe you are correct that it was patched out of the first game. The second as I understand it still has it, but it is without activation limits.

This notice is awesome, however, shouldn't the yellow "warning" sign be something friendlier since no DRM is a generally a good thing?

I suggest replacing the yellow warning sign with a big green happy face. :bouncy: Or a "DRM FREE!" image.

Lol i thought about that, but I want people to see the big huge sign that way we don't end up with hundreds of confused customers who didn't read the message.

Cheers,

Anyone interested in going in on a Serious Sam 4 pack? I can either shoot you $7.50 to buy it or I can buy it if you send the PayPal to me...

Well, Amazon already got me for:
Mafia
Black Mirror 3
ARMA II Combined Ops
Just Cause 2
Supreme Commander 2

Can't wait to see what other sales pop up.

Also if anyone buying the Squeenix Pack doesn't want/need their Kane and Lynch 2 Key, I'd be willing to buy it off you so just PM me :)

CheapLikeAFox, I'm using your tactic...

if anyone doesn't want/need their supreme commander 2 code from the squeenix bundle, i've got $1.50 for it.

I like the yellow sign. It says HEY! Pay attention! There are two versions! Make sure you get the one you want so you don't come back and cry to us that you got the wrong version later

Gah, wish you would have told me you wanted that, too. Would have gone for the bundle then!

Well someone else just asked for Supreme Commander 2 so you can still get it and send KL2 my way :)
I believe I will wait for the Stronghold Steam version. Kingdoms of Amulur also will be tempting but it requiring Origin might make me pass right now.
Where's it say Amalur is going on sale?

Bought Scary Girl. WOOHOO!!! Thanks Tony. :)
Fortunately have ~95 % of the other stuff on sale lol (guess I am a digital pack rat); so my wallet is safe for now.

Hey thanks man, we are doing a ton of work to craft a really compelling event for everyone. Need for Speed, Mirror's Edge, Alice, and Kingdoms of Amalur fans should be pumped for the upcoming offers as well :).

There you go.

Darksiders is one of those games that's 5 dollars on some retailer every monnth or so, so you likely won't have to wait long. Steam is supposed to be having some sort of THQ sale soon anyways.
