Pre-Order Borderlands 2 from us for 10% off and help me get a tattoo! Yes it activates on Steam!

I am a huge Borderlands 2 fan and I want this to be our best selling pre-order ever. So I've drawn a line in the sand. If, from now until launch, we take 40,000 more preorders than where we were on 7/2/2012 I will get a Borderlands tattoo on my back.
Going to ask even though I'm sure the answer is 'no,' but: any chance the Sword of the Stars (I) Complete collection in the Paradox Pack comes with a Steam key?
Negative, we couldn't secure keys for this.
Tony do you think you will be getting any more ARMA 2 combined ops keys and selling them for $15.
I wish, I don't think we'll get more keys before the 28th though.
Any chance of Mass Effect 1 going on sale too?
Yes, likely in June.
fuck! I just bought Sengoku because I was under the impression it was a Steam key. Apparently it isn't. Seriously disappointed.

Really, i too thought is was steam activation but i didnt bought it. Had intention...
Our CS group has been served a notice to refund anyone who contacts them because they bought Sengoku thinking it would activate on Steam.
Didn't you guys have a syndicate 4 pack? Any chance you guys will have that again at buy 3 at 17.99 get one free?
Negative, we'll probably move away from 4-packs on future promotions, from my perspective it was a failed experiment.
Tempted by half-off Tera... I was sort of split on the beta... I liked the combat decently, but the questing was EXTREMELY repetitive and grindy. I liked the first boss since it was much more interesting than the standard mobs that pretty much every other quest in the game had involved (I actually had to dodge incoming missiles, etc), but I played a decent amount after that even and found it to be mostly more of the same repetitive mobs.

Half-off this early in the game's cycle is sort of appealing, though.. I feel like I could sort of keep it around until I'm ready to start my 30 days (after I'm tired of Diablo 3 and Dragon's Dogma say) and just play it for that month or so. Maybe I'd try playing with a 360 controller as I'd read some people had done, as that could lend it a more "actiony" feel to it.

Or I could just wait until the game is $10 or F2P... =)
FYI I've said this in different forums, the sale isn't an indication of the sales performance of TERA. Although most sales on new release titles can be interpreted as driven by poor performance, this is no the case here. Tera has been, and continues to be, one of our top performing titles, driving tons of units and revenue for us, even when not promoted.

The reason we're promoting it tomorrow is because we wanted to get it into the Mayhem sale, which is being promoted across multiple corporate channels. Many of the customers now learning about Tera aren't as entrenched in gaming as you guys are.

What I'm getting at here is I would be shocked if Tera is 50% off again in the next 6-8 months, much less $10 or F2P, I'd actually be upset if it was because we're selling a ton of it at $50/$60 right now...this sale is all about getting more people into the game, and getting the game pumped into as many "people who bought this also bought this" widgets across Amazon.
Yeah I know. But I still feel the game is incomplete that way -___-

And by any chance Amazon will include the DLCs in the game? It seems the one from Gamers Gate also include the 3 DLCs and Nyte Blade.
I don't see a reference to the purchase including DLCs when purchased from Gamersgate?
No, the PC version doesn't. The console versions are the only ones that do.

Yeah he loves Minecraft and already has it but I don't because it never goes on sale and I am cheap bastard. :D
Minecraft is not likely to go on sale anytime. I paid around 20 for it and it is well worth it. Probably for the time you and your nephew would play you would definitely get a lot of value from it and considering any other game you buy you would have to buy two copies (one for you and one for him) maybe it's not that expensive?

The option is there in the menu, yeah.. but click on it and the game will crash. The install has NONE of the actual files for the original game, so it's just the menu option you're seeing.. and that's the reason it'll crash. That option was left there for when EA had a promotion where you could buy Alice Madness Returns (PC version) and get the original game along with it. That promotion ended long ago.. there's no way to get the original in download form since then.

Wow, thanks! I still feel like a dumbfuck for picking it up, but I had it in my head Sengoku activated on Steam for some reason.

I am very interested in Wings Of Prey to play on my Eyefinity setup but I have it in my Steam inventoy and would rather prefer a Steam version. I guess Amazon has no Steam version for that game, right Tony ?
Wow, thanks! I still feel like a dumbfuck for picking it up, but I had it in my head Sengoku activated on Steam for some reason.
I could swear that the post referencing Sengoku said it had a Steam key. I was thinking the same thing and kicking around buying a gift copy for my brother but passed on it.

Paradox is kind of tricky in that regard. With most publishers you either know (for newer stuff at least) Steam (THQ/2K/Bethesda/Sega) or no Steam (EA/Ubisoft/etc) but with Paradox some stuff is Steam activatable, some isn't and in some cases, like Mount and Blade, one store may sell a Steam activatable copy and another may not.

Yeah, I think the menu option doesn't show up anymore by default (unless you bought it when EA had the promotion). You have to change a setting in the config file to enable it (which also unlocks the DLC). The DLC actually works, but as I said before.. the original game doesn't as there are no actual files for it included with the install.
My Alice:MR doesn't have that option, but I redeemed it through Origin. Anyone else get the 1st game when buying A:MR?
No one will get the 1st game unless they bought it directly from EA when they offered that specific deal. pizzaflavoredpudding was just lucky enough to have a friend buy it for him/her when the deal went on.
I could swear that the post referencing Sengoku said it had a Steam key. I was thinking the same thing and kicking around buying a gift copy for my brother but passed on it.
Probably because Crusader Kings II needs Steam and Sengoku maybe considered Crusader Kings 1.5?

Is there a way to "gift" Amazon games if we've never installed it or activated it? I already have Swords of the Stars Complete, but might be interested in the Paradox pack and would not need another copy of that.

I wouldn't mind selling it for $4 if someone just wanted that for less than the sale price.
Can you share your point of view here? I'm curious.
We haven't seen the level of success on the 4 packs that makes it worth the time/effort it takes for our team to put those products together. Each time we do one it bumps an older game we'd like to have the game up for sale off the list.
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showpost.php?p=30788334&postcount=2

Not sure if it's what I meant.
Oh so you're asking if DLC will be included in the sale. It will not be.

Hey there,

The reason for the confusion here is because I also thought Sengoku was a Steam game...and I communicated that in various places, which is why I had CS issue a refund to anyone who complains during this sale...because it was my bad.

Cheers,
Tony

Tony,
I would just ask that maybe you guys revisit the 4-pack option on a limited basis once you guys implement the gifting option. I figure the difficulty of sending these games to people (emailing a key isn't that hard, but whatever) might be limiting the appeal of these 4 packs.

FYI, Amalur is moving to 50% off for its time in the sale, if you bought it today your best bet is going to be to email CS and get the difference credited. Usually I'd handle this on my end, but going into the long weekend we won't be able to get it pushed through until Tuesday (I can't even pull orders until tomorrow when the data flows through).

Cheers,
Tony

Everybody, GO BUY THIS...
AMAZING game....

...Well, except for the last 5-10 minutes....

For those who make it there near the end of ME3...
In London, you might want to just STOP playing once you get beamed-up, after dealing w/ The Illusive Man...
The game falls apart once Shepard gets beamed-up.

What about the KOA: Reckoning DLC?
Going to discount KOA:R DLC's The Legend of Dead Kel and Teeth of Naros any further?

I'll keep my eyes peeled for the DLC's to get even cheaper.
Too busy w/ Risen 2: Dark Waters, since I won it in a contest recently.

I loved Amalur. I can never understand the hate it got. I do think it needed a bit more TLC but it was beautiful and fun.

Saints Row 3 at that price is decent but, yes, the DLC is ridiculous. They cut several cheats for paid DLC too. I remain bitter as hell that I preordered it AND it was such a giant step back from SR2. That said, $15-ish, you could do a LOT worse.

I would say don't bother even with the SP content DLC for SR3. Volition has, for every game since and including SR2, only made the worst possible crap they could for DLC.
Unfortunately those games are published by different publishers who didn't participate in this promotion.

Cheers,
Tony
Alright, thanks for the response! I guess that explains why those kind of core mac games don't go on sale. Obviously, I don't know the situation, but I would love to see them on sale in the future! :D

Amalur really could use an even harder difficulty.
As is, the game's too easy - especially if you do A LOT of quests.

Also, I think the story-telling could've been in better and more interesting ways.

Also, I think the questing should've had more variety to it.

Also, the graphics could've been technically better, as well.

Even w/ all of those problems, I really did like Reckoning.
And, I was really hoping for a Reckoning 2 SP game [not the MMO].

I've never played a WRPG that had even remotely balanced combat/difficulty curve. Still, difficulty was an area KoA needed tightening on, but they would have to rejigger all the numbers for damage, health, etc, and really decide if they wanted you to stock up on easy breezy healing potions or schlep to a healer when the going got rough. The world could have also stood to be either less or more gamey. The awkward mix there of precisely placed loot/lorestones was not ideal.

Yeah the difficulty really needed tweaked, towards the end of the game it wasn't even a challenge, it was a lot of fun though. People should pick it up if they are at all curious, I'll say this...I buy a lot of games, but don't play a lot of games. I bought Amalur and beat it. I can't remember the last game I actually beat either/

@TONY
I'd like to see Amazon DVG to convince EA to start selling the original American McGee's Alice over your service at Amazon DVG, with it able to run on Windows 7.

Same here. As much as I'm very interested in SR3, the all DLCs line-up is just atrocious. $2.99 for few skin?? Even cheat for DLC? It's just plain pathetic at that point really.
Is anyone else confused on the price of the original Just Cause? Is that just me?
Yeah, when I first saw it I thought Tony did a typo. $7.49 for Just Cause 1 when you can get Just Cause 2 + 4 other games for $7.49 is crazy. I imagine that this is a publisher demand.

THQ is facing NASDAQ delisting after some terrible quarters so the beancounters are doing anything and everything to improve the company's numbers. Sadly, Saints Row is their cashcow.

Not to mention the second title totally eclipses the first. That price is just silly.

I'd pick it up for $2.99 just to revisit the first title (since I picked up 2 in the Squeenix pack), but not a penny more. For the first game to cost just as much as the entire Squeenix pack including the better second game... that's just weak.

What were you guys thinking when you set that one up, Tony? lol.

Originally we'd wanted to include it in the other bundle, but unfortunately we can't put "codes" in with full builds, which is what all the bundle games are. So, to keep it simple, we just put the other stuff was 50% off. Note, we're not really pushing it in our marketing messaging (emails, social media etc.), it is just part of the promo.

Cheers,
Tony

Sometimes things are set at a price to make you think the alternative is a better deal. Many would have passed on the bundle with JC2 if it was stand alone but when you see it next to that it looks awesome. They are doing the same thing with the Paradox pack.
i've been interested in magicka for a while, but the amount of DLC that game has is ridiculous. even the collection is missing a third of it. the hell. not a knock against amazon but it's just... crazy to me how that's been milked so hard.
There's nothing 'real time' about Civ V or any Civ game, and 'real time' is actually the opposite of 'turn based' in strategy games lingo. So it's a 4X TBS :)

The SP is EA telling Starbreeze to "make us a DXHR", but as a linear shooter since anything else would mean effort & costs.
The coop is alright though.

P.S.: Didn't bother with the first Just Cause at all, everybody told me the second was just so much better. Great game, that one. Especially if you use some cheat for multiple ropes & unbreakable ropes :D -- sadly the multiplayer mod didn't go anywhere quite yet

Oh right, thought it was $7.99.

Still, physical copies usually cost considerably more than digital copies. :whistle2:s For another 26 cents...

Not sure it was mentioned yet, but Stronghold 3 GOLD became available today. Those of us that purchased Stronghold 3 for $10 have all been upgraded to GOLD for FREE! - Just as Tony said would happen!

Thanks Tony!;\\:D/

It's real time because you take your turn and your opponent takes their turn at the same time. It follows the rules of traditional tbs but in real time kind of how most real time RPGs are still based on turn based dice rolls but they happen in real time.
