Pre-Order Borderlands 2 from us for 10% off and help me get a tattoo! Yes it activates on Steam!

I am a huge Borderlands 2 fan and I want this to be our best selling pre-order ever. So I've drawn a line in the sand. If, from now until launch, we take 40,000 more preorders than where we were on 7/2/2012 I will get a Borderlands tattoo on my back.

From the reviews, should you get Supreme Commander before Supreme Commander : Forged Alliance? It sounds like SC:FA builds on SC. Is there a digital version of Supreme Commander Gold?

Supreme Commander Forged Alliance is better then regular SC. SC FA has all the stuff that is in SC besides the single player and story. I own both (bought as they first came out).

Also, unless it has changed, registering the SC FA key on Steam will give you SC Gold (which is both of them). I'm not 100% sure if this has been changed or not for digital downloads (I know it use to work and all retail copies of SC and SC FA will redeem as SC Gold on Steam)

I think some people reported this stopped working last time it went on sale so it isn't gauranteed.

This. Also, not all retail copies of SC register on Steam. I have a boxed copy and the key doesn't register.

I'm not sure if it changed either...
...But back when I did it, like yourseldf, registering Sup Com FA key [from Amazon DVG] onto Steam got me both Sup Com original + Sup Com FA.

Any chance we'll be seeing the return of that Dragon Age pack from a few months ago that had the first game's ultimate edition and DA2 for sub-15 bucks?

Depends, when did you try? Because a couple of months ago, Gas Powered Games said that all retail boxed copies of SC/SC FA will redeem on Steam as FC Gold since they converted it over to a Steamworks title. Before that, it was hit or miss if your copy would activate on Steam.

Here is the link about it too http://forums.gaspowered.com/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=57459

GPG was able to receive authorization from our publishing partners to grandfather ALL existing CD keys for both SC and FA into updated SC:Gold Editions on Steam. This means that even if you purchased only SC or FA in a boxed version, you can now redeem that key for BOTH games automatically updated to version 3603 utilizing Steam, and also take advantage of Steam's integrated matchmaking and chat services for free.

I must've tried a few months ago, probably before the date that was posted. I guess it should work now then.
We've had the offer up since 12:00AM.

Cheers,

I didn't realize you guys still did it after the horrible reviews it got here.
thanks for bringing this one back - missed it last time
Yeah I just didn't advertise it here :). If a partner of ours wants to run a promotion I will VERY rarely say "no we're not going to do that". I don't see a need to advertise it here if you guys aren't interested in the offer though.

Cheers,
Tony

Forged Alliance is a standalone game, but if you install both it integrates them into one big and improved game. Everything from units, story, and UI are upgraded. Plus a fourth faction is available. FA without SupCom will not allow you to play the story as the other three factions. Bottom line - you want both.

However, as mentioned, sometimes FA redeems on Steam as Gold (both SupCom and SupCom FA). I'd buy FA first and just see.

Bummer... I tried a while back before they did that and my boxed copy wouldn't redeem. I bought it a second time from Amazon and got Gold on Steam, so it wasn't too bad in the end. Plus it's just a great game and I don't mind throwing them a few more bucks for all the fun I've had with it.

Maybe Tony can confirm as I only play story/single player and the campaigns are important to me.

Hehe I'm not sure it was ever supposed to happen that way to begin with. Someone would probably have to check and I recall hearing some say it no longer worked.

One good thing is that there are hundreds (if not thousands) of free user-made maps for Skirmish.

Since you're into singleplayer you'll be pleased to know that with SupCom and FA you'll have no less than 4 intertwined story campaigns. They aren't all unique, but playing the other side of a scenario sure adds some variety.

You don't need Origin for either of those games. You have the option, but don't need to. You'll still need an EA/origin account but won't need the client.
Is this guy wrong then? http://www.amazon.com/review/RQ0NGW...SIN=B006P28VBM&nodeID=468642&store=videogames

It sounds like you do need to install through Origin.
He's having errors and troubleshooting. If you read the other reviews there are several people mentioning you don't need to download it at all if you scroll down the reviews just a bit more. What he did might be a fix for a common error but it should not be required.

Dragon Age pack is a great deal, any chance of selling them individually? I have all the original DA stuff, but nothing of 2. DA 2 while I know it is a turd, for $5 I'd be willing to at least try it.
Do you have anything ELSE planned for next week's deals?

I already own DAO: Ultimate and DA2.
Nothing yet!
Sorry, have to bring this up again. But since there is planned THQ deals, any news on Titan Quest Gold?

Thanks!
I'll continue to follow up on this but right now I don't have any more infos.

Yep, the individual games will be 75% off, or $4.99 for DA2.

Also, SSFVI:AE is live at $9.99 now updating OP soon:
Okay, wow. I didn't expect a "hey, I can maybe move this a bit".

Bloody king of customer service, man. That is super awesome.

It might be a bit too late still for me, since I have to be up at 6am and probably won't have time to hop on a computer (last time I took this flight, I almost missed it. Hit the bathroom, came back out and my plane was in "Get on now or get left" mode.) ...if you could set the flip at 10, 10:30 so it takes effect 11, 11:30 (PST), that would be really killer. If not, I'll try to get up a bit earlier and hit the comp.

Thanks a bunch!
Price is live now, check it out.

Cheers,
Tony

I just hopped on and saw it. Just trying to see if I can use my $10 credit from Max Payne 3 on it now.

Thanks a bunch again for movin things around, I super appreciate it :D

Snap at the Street Fighter 4 deal, just grabbed a WWE Brawl Pad and Brawl Stick for 360 (cough*PC*cough) via the Gamestop deals for $12 and $20 respectively. Then I realized, WAIT I don't have SSFIV for PC! Fixed, thanks Tony!

I'll definitely be in for the Dragon Age combo pack. I've played the vanilla version of DA:O on the Xbox 360 and wasn't fond of the control schemes at all. I've read that the optimum way to play it was on the computer and was waiting for a good deal to come around again. Thanks again Tony.

P.S. Let Amazon know we'd be interested in a console representative if at all possible. That half day inoperable 4th of July Sale was not too well received by a lot of CAGs.

I can't even imagine playing DA:O with a controller, and I say this as a PC gamer who plays most of my current PC games with a controller. I remember trying to map it once to a controller with Xpadder and I gave up because there's just way too much to configure. It's definitely a game you want to play with the keyboard and mouse, and an excellent game at that imho.

Turd is a pretty accurate description of DA2 to me because as far as I am concerned EAware took what was one of my favorite games in recent years and took a great big dump all over it. *sigh*

But yeah if you have to have it $5 is an exceptional price. Do be aware though that there is DLC that you can only buy from EA and it never goes on sale. It also seems unlikely they will release an ultimate edition because they haven't been doing it with the ME games lately.

We wants a Mass Effect 3 Digital Deluxe deal. We must haves a Mass Effect 3 Digital Deluxe deal. We wants the precious! Give us the precious!

(Pretty please with a cherry and sugar on top? Yeah, yeah, I missed it the last time.)

Grabbed the SSIV PC for $9 just to mess around with, just a headsup the key is for the Games for Windows Live version not the Steam if that's a deal breaker for anyone. This was my first experience with GWL and I can't say I liked it very much.

Speaking of bundles, any chance you could bring back that EA racing pack? Thinking about getting a wheel and loviing Shift 2 with my gamepad...but wheel is better :D

Just picked up Street Fighter. Thanks Tony!

By the way, any chance of another Dungeon Defenders sale? Just converted a couple friends to PC.

Yep. I knew that and that is exactly why I passed on this game. *sigh*

The depressing thing is same thing with most of the Japanese publisher PC games including the upcoming Dark Souls port.

Unrelated to the sales, but for everyone picking up SSF4 check out the Shoryuken forums, under the SSF4 section there's a great thread for custom costumes/skins for the game. I'll link the website hosting the skins themselves when I get home, but the level of work being done is amazing. No costume unlocks, nothing bypassing anything, just custom skins people have done.

Guess it's a pass if it's not the Steam version.
Just as an FYI to the GFWL discussion, the Steam version also uses GFWL, it just also uses Steam.

Cheers,
Tony
Sounds like the version we should have for $10, don't you think? ;) More option for the dollar.

I've heard so much terrible reviews about DA2, but every single one lists cons that were present in Origins as well. I understand it when a game has a lack of progress (a sequel should have more features, innovate more, etc), but it's hard to understand the hailstorm of negativity when the game is basically just a new story with the same old system (the good and the bad of it).

Either way, I'd pick it up just for the voice acting on the main character alone. Adds something there wasn't before.
Sounds like the version we should have for $10, don't you think? ;) More option for the dollar.
Yeah if we had that version I'd definitely yet you guys know. Just making it clear that waiting for a Steam version to go on sale doesn't circumvent the need to use GFWL.

Cheers,
Tony

Dark Souls will be released on Steam, but it's not clear if it will use both Steamworks and GFWL.
