As of today, Amazon.com will be offering Free to Play and MMO games that you can purchase virtual goods, currencies, and subscriptions for on Amazon.com. These purchases will be delivered directly into your game account. We're calling this new service Game Connect.

Amazon has teamed up with our launch partners to bring Amazon customers exclusive content and bonus offers for the opening of the Free to Play store. Here is some of the cool stuff you'll get just for linking your Amazon account with a game account:


Super MNC: Customers who link their Amazon account with a Super MNC account will receive an exclusive Team Spirit Assault Rifle. This weapon for the Assault Pro has a unique, team colored, metal barrel shroud and is only available through Amazon.




Stronghold Kingdoms: Customers who link their Amazon accounts with a Stronghold Kingdoms account will receive a starter pack valued at $10. This pack includes: 10 packs of strategy cards (50 cards), 100 card points, and a 7 day premium token (7 days of Premium).



Shin Megami Tensei: Customers who link their Amazon accounts with a Shin Megami Tensei account will receive a free Incense of Training. I've only been around for a year, but I consider myself more of a CAG (if you catch my drift) than some of the more senior members who have been here for a while and lurked/leeched. Join dates aren't really an efficient way of judging and filtering out the less-than-ideal CAGs. =P

I knew that part, but doesn't the new code system give a code _to your account_?

I was under the impression that people were making a series of multiple accounts to get new codes? I didn't think one account could just grab as many codes as they wanted to.

I do agree with join date not meaning everything. There are so many douchebag "senior" members around.

Ah, didn't think about it that way. =P It does limit to one per account IIRC, so they could create accounts and grab a bunch of codes. Also, I agree; honestly, seniority is sometimes overrated (though there are quite a few senior members who are completely awesome).

That's not a bad idea. Maybe if we link Amazon accounts to CAG we can have a special prizes for those who are loyal customers. Give them something free every month they buy something sorta like what IGN Prime did after people tried to exploit them.

Seen a couple of the advertisements (overly sexy lady in leather bending over backwards to go under a laser trip alarm when she could have just stepped over it). Reminds me of the scene from Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. ;)

Did they just have The Walking Dead on sale? I saw it the top ten digital PC downloads sold during the July sale.

Sorry I missed the Walking Dead/Mass Effect questions but yes, we're working on both. Walking Dead was 40% off multiple times and I'm working on getting it there again, and also in a bundle.

I like this idea a lot as I am will admit I am a lurker for the most part but I read the forums multiple times a day. I have always been a quiet type in real life so I generally stick to posting deals only and not giving opinions. However I do spend a few hundred dollars each year on games I never get a chance to play. I do understand the importance of community and needing feedback but just wanted to post an opinion from the lurker perspective.

Gamersgate has multiple reward systems including getting 5% blue coins back on every game purchases, 15% off all games if you sign up for an IGN Prime account and you can get up to 10% in blue coins for referring others to GG using a GG signature (never done this). They used to do 4 for 3 deals during their summer and winter sales but I think that may be gone now that the 15% off all games exists. But I will say they generally do not have crazy good deals like Amazon does!!!

Amazon DVG doesn't carry any Zenimax-published games for download for Windows OS's from Id Software or Bethesda. :(

Yesterday I bought Titan Quest Gold on Steam (it was the daily deal). Or that's what I thought. I went to install it today to start playing, and I discovered that I had purchased just Titan Quest, which was sold at the same price as Titan Quest Gold.

Oh well, I guess I made a stupid mistake, and it's obviously my fault, but this is the main reason I only buy from Steam when Amazon doesn't carry that particular game. If I had made that mistake when buying from Amazon, I know their customer support would help me. But with Steam I am stuck. Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait for the next sale, as the expansion improves the original, so I don't want to start playing without it.

I feel so dumb. :(

I'm pretty sure the Gold version was 4.99 and the non-gold was 3.79 or something on Steam yesterday. I was debating it myself and they were not the same price.

Gamersgate still has it for 3.99 for the gold version. Not sure what DRM is on that, but figure I won't play it at this time so not jumping yet...

Really? Oh my, I guess I was drunk or something when I bought it. I still would have preferred the Gold Edition.

I am sure Amazon would have sold them at the same price. :D And, on top of that, we would receive a coupon to get some free games. :lol:
