F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, generally like new items.

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes, All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken

I'm waiting for a 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and almost in perfect condition. Any game i have personally ever bought has in like new condition. However, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot

I got my ME3 in Very Good Condition today.

So, Amazon wouldn't be enough of an asshole to give me an online pass slip that's already been redeemed...would they?

Online codes are YMMV. Sometimes they are redeemed sometimes not.

if the person who traded it in left it in the case, I don't think there's any way for amazon to check it to see if it works.
so it's nothing to do with amazon being assholes.

Oh I thought they had a process of at least checking or not but I suppose that would be too much effort for no purpose since it doesn't really change the price.

I guess I got lucky cause it's still redeemable (just checked).
Not bad for $28 bucks.

Amazon Warehouse Leader Dude: ME3 here, tag it and bag it.

Amazon Guy 1: Hey, this one has the online pass slip inside?

Amazon Guy 2: Does it work?

Amazon Guy 1: It worked!

Amazon Guy 2: Great!

...

iduncurr: I just received this like new ME3 and the code doesn't work. WTF?
dammit. some one bought a 32gb card right from under me as i was checking out. bastids.
Was it for $61.97? If so, that was me.

If it makes you feel any better, I've been trying to get that for 3 weeks, since the one I ordered 3 weeks ago got canceled on me. So at least it went to someone who really really really wanted it?
I know there was a day 1 patch but crap textures aside, is it still broken?
I haven't played it yet, waiting till its under $20. I have a big backlog to get through before I buy any more games.

Sweet. My supposedly backordered going-to-ship-on-the-28th copy of Mass Effect 3, shipped today. I can finally stop pestering anyone and everyone who has a copy of it! I don't even remember what condition it was. Probably Like New or Very Good. Considering I'll likely have to get an online pass, I'm glad I caught it at $28.

STOP assuming you get the online pass when it never says its gonna be there.

A lot of CAG newbs here can't grasp the concept that a used game may not come with an unused pass. Maybe we need to put it in the OP.

Doesn't every used warehouse games say "it may not come with a dlc" description? At least the ones I saw so far seemed to always state that.

It's the same way when you buy used games from Gamestop, lol. The Gamestop is California had to put warning labels on their used games. Did anyone else read the article?

Yes. That guy is an idiot.

What's the lowest anyone has seen Ridge Racer on Amazon Warehouse for? There are three for $22.49 but I think I remember seeing one for less than $20 once. I'm looking for this, but would be great at like $15 for the content it has (which isn't much apparently). I'm not big into playing this online.

yeah and apparently there's a class action lawsuit going on right?
STOP assuming you get the online pass when it never says its gonna be there.
I think that is what I said. ;)

The only way Amazon could know if the codes were any good would be to try them. If they tried them, they wouldn't be any good. The descriptions almost always say DLC may not be any good. Not sure why people ask the same question over and over and/or are disappointed when it isn't there.

If you get it, bonus. If not, you shouldn't have expected it.
A lot of CAG newbs here can't grasp the concept that a used game may not come with an unused pass. Maybe we need to put it in the OP.
That should be common sense when buying a used game no matter where you are buying it from. The only exception would be Gamefly or if you buy it from the original owner directly and they tell you it hasn't been used.
I know there was a day 1 patch but crap textures aside, is it still broken?
Everything I've read indicates that the day 1 patch didn't fix the garbage performance on ps3 and if you are going to get it, it should be on 360 (assuming you have a choice).
yeah and apparently there's a class action lawsuit going on right?
I think so, bit I'm not entirely sure. I remember reading that article and shaking my head. True gamers (this community, and others) know about the crappy online pass etc. It's those parents that get duped time and time again. Sometimes the online pass doesn't mean a lot to me because I'll play mostly for the single player, and I can't stand to pay for XBL since I don't have time for it.
The problem with GS selling used games without the online pass is the game ends up costing more than MSRP. 54.99 + 10 = 64.99
That is what EA wants!

I know right! I was just talking about this.

If you're buying used and expect an online pass, your best bet is GameFly.They pretty much take the discs out and toss the cases to the side. I've purchased from them a few times and the case and innards always come in pristine condition with working codes

Of course, nothing's guaranteed

I found out when I bought The Show for Vita a couple weeks ago that GameStop has a deal with Sony where a working online pass prints out on your receipt when you buy a used Sony title that has an online pass. My guess is that GameStop will get EA in a similar deal at some point.

Thanks. I don't have a choice so its a no-go I guess. What a shame. It should have been some easy money for Konami.

From what I've heard, it's slightly better on 360, but still pretty much crap on both. A real shame, what should have been a no-brainer set turned into a pass for me - I'll just keep my PS2 versions.

What kind of idiot would rather pay $54.99 for something that is used and isn't guaranteed to include everything, as opposed to $59.99 for something brand new and guaranteed to have everything? Anybody who needs a game that bad to pay $54.99 for it should have bought it new anyway.

54.99-5.50 (10% off used with PUR). Not everyone plays online either so getting the online pass might not matter to the buyer.

I question the logic of buying $55 used games. Don't get me wrong, I buy used games sometimes... when they're $10. But cheesing the makers of a newer game out of any compensation just so you can save 5 bucks? That's sleazy.

well if your a PUR member isnt there an additional 10% off used games?

so it's "sleazy" to "cheese" the "makers" out of $5 by paying $55 for a used game but it's ok for you "cheese" them by paying $10 for the used games you buy..

yeah...

Why would it matter if it is listed as "Like New"? It's still used, doesn't mean the code will be guaranteed to be unused.

If you don't want to gamble with online pass, your better off not buying from AWD. I know I don't buy games that require passes from AWD because of this.

Haha, funny! Where is the sign that says you need to pay $60/year fee to play Xbox games online? I know MMO games say *Requires an internet connection*

I simply don't buy a used game if I know it has online pass or packed in DLC. Took me forever to find a good deal on Mass Effect 2 for PS3, because that Cerberus pack is $15 if you buy it used (and the game is $20 MSRP new lol)

Gamefly if you want pack-in codes on used games, otherwise look for deals on new games. I justify $15-20 on a new games because $10-15 on a used + code is usually more cost anyway.

Yeah, this happened to me when I bought Hot Shots Golf used from them. Not complaining... and it kind of defeats the point of having online passes if some retailers have these agreements anyway.

Not really. Gamestop is paying for online passes. They're probably paying at a discounted rate, but even if they agree to give Sony just $1 for each online pass they print on a receipt, that's $1 more than Sony used to get off the sale of a used game. And it allows Gamestop to continue to charge their normal prices.
