F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
From Amazon: Get deep discounts on open-box, like-new, refurbished, or used products that are in good condition but do not meet Amazon.com's rigorous standards as "new".

Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, new but with damaged packaging product aka "dinger" and trade ins in generally like new condition. They are considered 3rd party by affiliation and as such the "Amazon Warehouse Deals" distinction but are still part of Amazon.

About AmazonSmile

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes! All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken during restocks and or when pricing algorithm goes haywire. During those times, prices don't adjust and assimilate with the current inventory quickly enough to show the sorting as such

I'm waiting for a ps4, xb1, 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it, and or set alerts... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What is this "glitch deals" that I keep hearing about in this thread?

On August 7th, 2014, AWD glitched out similar to how it did around penny deals, except lot of stuff went for cheap instead for a penny. The pricing algorithm went haywire and in the process lot of stuff went for cheap across the AWD spectrum from games to iphones to tablets and everything else in between. The "glitch deal" lasted for maybe a couple of hours and fellow CAGs that were around during that time made out like a bandit. Below is the timeline leading up to the night and the deals that went down on that night.

What do you mean by a "dinger"?
Dinger = Item is new but the packaging is damaged in some way or form.

These are speculative guesses at best going by descritption of any given item and also taking into account the length of time an item has been out since its release. Shorter the span of time from release of a game or console, better the chance of scoring a new item with damaged packaging aka "dinger".

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
First and foremost all games from AWD are considered used unless specified as new. Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and depending on condition they can be perfect / brand new, brand new with damaged packaging aka "dinger" to just a game in a generic case. AWD has 5 condition criteria for their listings and they are:

New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unopened video game in perfect condition in its original packaging and with all original packaging materials included.

Like New: An apparently unopened video game in perfect condition (although it may be out of its original wrapping). The box and item are pristine, with no signs of wear. Suitable for presenting as a gift. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Very Good: A well-cared-for video game that has been played but remains in great condition. The game and its original packaging are complete and slightly worn, but unmarked and undamaged. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Good: The video game shows wear from consistent use, but remains in good condition. There may be clear external signs of wear and damage to the original packaging or instructions, but the game plays perfectly. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Acceptable: The video game is fairly worn, but it continues to work perfectly. The box and instructions may be missing or damaged. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Sellers are required to note whether the box or instructions are missing in the condition notes field for the item. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Any game I have personally ever bought in good or above condition has been in near mint condition. Acceptable ones have been a gamble. Getting DLC with games has also been a gamble and since AWD games are considered used, don't expect unused DLC even though there will be occassions where they may come unused. In regards to DLC, ymmv. Conditon wise, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases and inserts, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc. Consoles listed in "acceptable" conditon can be either new in damaged packaging and or a pure gamble in what conditon they will truly be in along with what is included in the box depending on the time frame from release of the console.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot

Finally getting to go through all the stuff I got in the second wave of packages.

Ghosts Prestige looks new with just a cut in the shrink wrap. Tomb Raider CE looks new as well. Wii Fit Plus looks like it might be new as well but it's hard to tell since I don't know how they're sealed normally. Also the regular Forza Day One (that I didn't know I ordered but apparently did) was new as well with the MS thing on the side.

Disney Infinity was surprisingly not new since every one I've gotten from AWD has been.

Have to check some of the CEs like Max Payne and DCUO still and open up all the individual games. Are the bottoms of PS1 discs supposed to be like black? Never had one but I vaguely remember hearing something like that was an anti-piracy measure. They look legit but like I said, I've never had one or bought many PS1 games.

Day one code in my Ryse was used but that's not surprising.

Yes to the black bottom on the ps1 discs. That's normal. Not everyone had it, but several of mine do.

If I'm able to find a Xbox 1 deal like the one I missed on yesterday, it will be purchased ASAP.

Eldritch, how'd you end up never having a PS1?
I was only in like 6th grade during that generation and my mother would let us play video games but not buy them. Was a major victory when I managed to save my money and be allowed to buy a GameBoy. Think that was around 6th or 7th grade since I remember that Pokemon was 8th grade.

Anyway, I managed to convince my dad to get me a console in 99 (I think) despite my mother's wishes. Ended up picking the N64 bundled with NHL 99 over the PS1 bundled with FF7. Needless to say that was a just massive mistake. Played plenty of fun games on the N64 but the price of games and having to buy them on my own made me really regret it when there were bargain bins full of PS1 games that looked interesting.

And that's the story of why I didn't have a PS1. Or a Dreamcast though that's a sadder story. They dropped it to $99 right around my birthday when they were getting rid of it and my dad drove me all over town and we couldn't find one.

BUT I did get to play the shit outta NFL Blitz which was amazing.

5th Grade for me involved a bout of pneumonia. The hospital I stayed at had a Nintendo 64. Their game selection was sub-par, so I had my parents bring in the ones I had rented from Blockbuster, Pokémon Stadium and NFL Blitz 2001 (I think it was that one)

PS1 first system I ever bought with my own cash, mowed lawns all summer to buy it. First game Resident Evil, still one of my most memorable gaming experiences.

dreamcast brings back memories, i remember so much hype when they were first release. the poor sales number for it, set Sega back a decade.

What made the dreamcasts sales numbers so shitty? It had/has great games...
People were skeptical of Sega at the time, then there was another console on the horizon, you might've heard of it, called a Playstation 2. Also, it came out while the N64 and PS1 were still getting heavy hitters. The DC was a fantastic console, but it just didn't stand a chance, especially after the miserable failure of the Saturn.

You mean drove SEGA out of the hardware business into the sad thing they are today.

Yeah, it was this weird inter-generational timing that really hurt it. PS2 and Xbox were there these run away hype machines.

Sony had everyone waiting with anticipation for the PS2. It was the 'white elephant' in the market for Sega & Nintendo at the time. Sega had enough losses from 32X & Saturn that they couldn't afford another system ramp up if the Dreamcast failed. When the numbers started to drop, Sega pulled the plug instead of riding the rampdown like they did with Saturn in the US and Europe....

You mean drove SEGA out of the hardware business into the sad thing they are today.
i remember seeing the commericals on tv of the sega console, and games. i was so hyped by it at the time. i almost got one. but i ended getting a gameboy color for pokemon for some unknown reason. LOL

after the lackluster venture with gamecube, i was surprised nintendo is still making consoles till this day. i thought after sega dropped out of console hardware, nintendo would be next. lol

1 hour until the restock

heres hoping for a 3ds sale less than 100 bucks and can stay until 9am

chances of that happening are about .01% though

Dreamcast still remains my favorite console of all time. I had a rediculous amount of fun with that console. It was bliss. Sega now... Oh god, don't even get me started.

dreamcast was lots of fun. I loved my saturn as well though. I always wondered what video games would be if things had turned out differently for sega

I have a similar story. I never had an N64 until waaay into the next generation and GS marked them down to $14.99. I broke my knee in 6th grade and had to have surgery. In the hospital room they let me play an N64 with Mario Kart 64. I played the hell out of that game. I was in agonizing pain, but an 11 year old with Mario Kart and painkillers will have still have fun.

That Dreamcast story is sad. I bought the Dreamcast day one on 9-9-99. If my CAG name didn't give it away, I was a die hard Sonic fan. I was fuck in heartbroken when I was at the supermarket and read a gaming magazine that they were discontinuing the Dreamcast and games (Kids who don't know this... a magazine is sort of a papery blog). I remember it vividly like people remember when they found out Kennedy was assassinated.

I never had a PS1 either, but just in the past couple weeks I've been buying some alright ps1 games at different pawn shops for .99 cents. The ones I'm interested to play first are Road Rash 3d and Area 51. These are the first ps1 games I ever bought and I wish I would have bought some during the AWD night of madness. I've been to a few pawn shops that have ps1 model 1 consoles and also that little psOne console. I'm tempted to buy one for the hell of it even though I'm assuming my ps2 can play all ps1 games. They were marked $19.99, but maybe if I buy a bunch of games and other shit, I can try to talk them down to $15. One store had a few ps1 consoles stacked on top of each other. They've probably been sitting there for years. Any opinions on whether I should get the original model or the smaller model? Or just save my money and use a PS2?

Oh yeah, back on topic. Today I received my Tomb Raider Definitive Edition for the xbox one and Disney Infinity ps3. They're used, but seem to be in good shape. Do I need some kind of DLC code or something to use the Disney Infinity figures? If the game is actually used, is it possible that the characters are already leveled up and saved in the toy by a previous owner? I haven't played this or Skylanders yet.

nah, i already have 50 bucks on amazon, so i figured i might as well just spend another 50-60 bucks and get a guaranteed copy.

unfortunately the only one i'll be able to afford at 8am is in pink, and hopefully still in stock

edit: nope... no longer available... didn't know people buy consoles at 10pm lol

PS3 320GB Uncharted 3 Bundle - Good - $41  -  Came in Used/Complete/Great shape but in a standard 320GB PS3 Box with the game included. Keeping as a spare.

PS4 CoD Ghosts Prestige x2 - Good - $9  -  Both came Used/Complete/Mint minus the DLC

PS4 AC4 Black Flag Limited x2 - Like New - $15  -  Both came Used/Complete/Mint. None of the CE stuff looks like it was ever even touched. (Actually still have a pending order for a third but the expected delivery date was pushed back to the 19th)

XBox 360 Borderlands 2 Ultimate Loot Chest - Good - $30  -  Used/Complete/Great Shape. Box is a little beat up in some spots. Still very cool.

XB1 Forza 5 Day One - Like New - $7  -  Used/Mint

Wii Metroid Prime Trilogy CE - Good - $13  -  Used/Steelbook in good shape. Friend about shat himself when I gave him this.

XBox 360 Madden 25 x5 - Like New - $3 - All Used/Mint (these were up a long time that night)

PS3 Madden 25 x5 - Like New - $2 - All Used/Mint (again, these were up for almost the entire glitch and we had already been informed on CAG about the BB $15 TIV w/ $10 coupon promo)

PS3 Disney Infinity Starter - Like New - $8  -  New/Factory Sealed with small damage to packaging. Great gift.

There were some other cheapy PS3/XBox 360/WiiU games that I'm too lazy to look up and already gave as gifts, and an IPad 4 for $150 that the GF has confiscated (came in great shape).  So all in all a pretty great glitch. Lotta stuff to keep, lotta stuff to trade, and a lotta great gifts for pennies on the dollar.

Big thanks to Dead Batteries and Mostly Human for starting us all off that night...

I'm sure it's like Skylanders where you can reset them.

Sega sucks balls. They've fucked up so much good will, similar to what Capcom has been doing for the past several years. The Dreamcast is tied with the original game boy/pocket/color and N64 as my favorite consoles of all time. I had so much fun playing them. Second is only my GCN, which I played smash bros and Soul Calibur 2 until my hands bled. Those console systems would bring over the friends and family. The xbox and playstations, eh not so much. I had great fun with the 360 until all this bullshit GOTY and DLC until infinite crap started taking place.
