F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
From Amazon: Get deep discounts on open-box, like-new, refurbished, or used products that are in good condition but do not meet Amazon.com's rigorous standards as "new".

Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, new but with damaged packaging product aka "dinger" and trade ins in generally like new condition. They are considered 3rd party by affiliation and as such the "Amazon Warehouse Deals" distinction but are still part of Amazon.

What is AmazonSmile?

About AmazonSmile

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes! All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken during restocks and or when pricing algorithm goes haywire. During those times, prices don't adjust and assimilate with the current inventory quickly enough to show the sorting as such

I'm waiting for a ps4, xb1, 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it, and or set alerts... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What is this "glitch deals" that I keep hearing about in this thread?

On August 7th, 2014, AWD glitched out similar to how it did around penny deals, except lot of stuff went for cheap instead for a penny. The pricing algorithm went haywire and in the process lot of stuff went for cheap across the AWD spectrum from games to iphones to tablets and everything else in between. The "glitch deal" lasted for maybe a couple of hours and fellow CAGs that were around during that time made out like a bandit. Below is the timeline leading up to the night and the deals that went down on that night.

What do you mean by a "dinger"?
Dinger = Item is new but the packaging is damaged in some way or form.

These are speculative guesses at best going by descritption of any given item and also taking into account the length of time an item has been out since its release. Shorter the span of time from release of a game or console, better the chance of scoring a new item with damaged packaging aka "dinger".

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
First and foremost all games from AWD are considered used unless specified as new. Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and depending on condition they can be perfect / brand new, brand new with damaged packaging aka "dinger" to just a game in a generic case. AWD has 5 condition criteria for their listings and they are:

New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unopened video game in perfect condition in its original packaging and with all original packaging materials included.

Like New: An apparently unopened video game in perfect condition (although it may be out of its original wrapping). The box and item are pristine, with no signs of wear. Suitable for presenting as a gift. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Very Good: A well-cared-for video game that has been played but remains in great condition. The game and its original packaging are complete and slightly worn, but unmarked and undamaged. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Good: The video game shows wear from consistent use, but remains in good condition. There may be clear external signs of wear and damage to the original packaging or instructions, but the game plays perfectly. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Acceptable: The video game is fairly worn, but it continues to work perfectly. The box and instructions may be missing or damaged. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Sellers are required to note whether the box or instructions are missing in the condition notes field for the item. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Any game I have personally ever bought in good or above condition has been in near mint condition. Acceptable ones have been a gamble. Getting DLC with games has also been a gamble and since AWD games are considered used, don't expect unused DLC even though there will be occassions where they may come unused. In regards to DLC, ymmv. Conditon wise, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases and inserts, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc. Consoles listed in "acceptable" conditon can be either new in damaged packaging and or a pure gamble in what conditon they will truly be in along with what is included in the box depending on the time frame from release of the console.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot

I was hoping to find something for $175 or less. Nintendo Store is my 2nd option
I think the cheapest the system has been with any regularity was about $210 (don't recall if there err any dips below that though). I believe it's also been a couple months since we've really seen it that low.

$180 if you can find a Zelda bundle at Kmart. (maybe less by now)

And it worked with the 40k bonus SYWR points with purchase of any WiiU system several weeks ago.

Got it and MK8 for $185 OOP. (had a $10 off $50 SYWR coupon to take care of tax)

Meant on AWD but good luck to anyone looking for those bundles still.

Including going 3rd party and dropping their console business. ;)
It's funny, I just got a WiiU the other day and was skeptical about it. After actually playing it instead of judging it from the outside, I have to say that Nintendo is the most innovated when it comes to hardware. The gamepad features in games (gyrosensor, blowing into the mic, motion controls; which are amazingly accurate, dual screen action between the TV and pad, etc.) is on another level. It's mainly the gamepad that makes the console innovated.

Anyways, Nintendo going out of business would leave the market in a stale place imo. Sometimes I want my more griddy games but sometimes I want a colorful happy game (not that other platforms don't have it).

Side: The colors in Super Mario 3D World are beautiful! That's one thing Nintendo does that few others do and that's using many colors within a game world and shades. It's a small thing that the programmer in me notices but that alone is something few other games do.

Anyways, try to actually own a WiiU before judging it. I felt somewhat the same way but after playing / owning a WiiU and 3DS, it's clear to me that Nintendo offers a lot of difference in the gaming world that it would be bleak without them.

Do you guys think getting a refurbished Wii U from the Nintendo store would be the best bet or wait for a (possible) Cyber Monday etc deal being a better option?

Been wanting to snag one but I don't want to pay over 200 possibly 225 for one.

Thanks for any input.

Cyber Monday is garbage but I do think there will be a very good deal on the system somewhere during that weekend.

i own it, so here is my judgement, there is a difference between innovation and gimmicks. seriously, blowing into the mic, wtf, id hate to see where that leads to in the future. also its not really new, since the DS also had that feature. the only useful thing is the dual screen which has already been bested with the vita on sony and smartglass for xbox.

But the Vita + PS4 isn't really dual screen play. It's remote play. And it's $600 compared to $300 for the Wii U.

It really depends on how you view the tech. The WiiU doesn't actually see (through the camera) that you are blowing. The mic hears you blowing and that is how it reacts. In Super Mario 3D World, if you blow into the mic you''ll get coins and hidden secrets in the world. Using it to move the platforms is great too.

I admit, at first it seemed out there until I was actually using it than it made sense and was innovated. But its really how each individual person views it.

And you obviously don't own a Vita or a WiiU if you think the Vita is doing dual screen (which it isnt, Remote Play is not dual screen gameplay) better than the WiiU. The WiiU is seemless and actually uses each screen independently from each other. Not just mirroring games but using each screen as it's own gameplay mechanic.

Yoshis Fruit Cart in Nintendo Land is a great example. The fruit is on the TV but not on the gamepad. You have to move Yoshi on the gamepad by drawing where he goes to get the fruit. You use the patterns on both screens to direct where Yoshi goes. In later levels the gamepad gets fewer resources to know where to go.

That right there is innovated in how we play games. I'm loving it right now and wish there were more games (puzzle) that do it. Hopefully Nintendo Land can show what we'll see in Mario Party WiiU.

I can echo Eldritch. I have far better remote play with my vita than my Wii U. Doesnt even lag, it flat out wont play when i go into my bedroom (about 10 ft away)

Weird, sounds like you guys have some interference. Which could be something bluetooth, usb wireless adapter, microwave, etc. But no, dual screen action on the WiiU for me is seamless and greatly accurate.

Ditto. I play Mario Kart on it and never miss a beat. Actually prefer it to the TV screen.

ok, so you have had a different experience, since ive had no interest in nintendoland or will i have any in mario party. if something is only utilized in party games, its a gimmick. id love to see this better implemented, its just not being done. ive heard some good ideas with the division, even controlling a drone with a tablet. but right now its mostly the same, an option to play the game off the tv, that is how i compare it until something that interests me comes around. just my opinion, im sure its a great feature for couch multiplayer games, i just dont play those.

Do you hear yourself? The mechanics are used in other games, not just party games which there is only 1 party game on the WiiU; Nintendo Land. Pikman 3 uses drawing on the map to move to different locations, 3D World uses the blowing mechanic to move platforms as well as find coins, Mario Kart 8 can use the gyrosensor to control cars. Many other games use these features and luckily not as a selling point but as small touches to games. Notice how all these features are used in single player (apart from Mario KArt 8 which can be used for both).

You should really look what other games are doing with it. All the games I've played use it as a independent device for games, not as a mirrored screen.

But yeah, just opinions. I own and played multitude of games so far and now see how much these additions to the gamepad do extend what we can do in games far beyond what the Vita does by just mirroring the screen.

I can't think of a Wii U game I've played where I thought the gimmicky features of the gamepad improved the game. It's always been the opposite.

Seeing a map on it is nice though.

I didn't say it improved the game, I'm saying the features added that I've played added something new and exciting to these games. When I was talking about the map, in Pikman 3 you can draw on the map and it moves your characters there. You can than look around the playing field to monitor your Pikman and change what they do based on where they are. All the while your character is moving to the base (though you can move him elsewhere).

But I know I can't tell people the WiiU is great b/c of the hate behind it (thinking it's last gen, little 3rd party support, lack of games though it's still new), which I can't blame them for. Once you (not you whoknows) own one and play a good amount of games, you'll see. Hopefully not playing it w/ some premade hatred.

I've never purchased anything through AWD before, so I was just wondering if anyone knew if there was a difference between a product being marked as LN without any description, and one being marked as LN with a description saying that the packaging may be damaged?

EDIT: Nvm, apparently they were just new listings so it took a minute for the descriptions to appear.

what's the good disk drive to have in an original 360? Have a few and am giving a few away but want to keep the one that hopefully won't RROD for a while....

Where are the deals?

Majority of the stuff I'm looking at can be found for lower prices on the regular Amazon site from third-party sellers.

Lol as a skinny dude with k pop link and a pokemon avatar I bet you are reeeel popular with the ladies XD... and no not the ones you drug and invite to your 4chan party van.
What are you on about?

If you're going to (attempt) to insult me at least have a reason instead of pulling at the air. No better than me saying that you'll never get w/ Chloe as she wouldn't want someone who actually says "lulgasms" and actually proclaims themselves as a system hater. I mean, aren't you a bit old for fanwars.

And why do you assume I'm skinny? But you are right, I am popular w/ a lady. My girlfriend. But I'm sure that's a foreign word for you.

That's chipset and is the desirable one. They also used different types of disc drives at various points an there was one that was preferable because it wasn't like a jet engine. Couldn't tell you about that off the top of my head though.
Ah, also good to know thanks, I'll look it up.
