F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
From Amazon: Get deep discounts on open-box, like-new, refurbished, or used products that are in good condition but do not meet Amazon.com's rigorous standards as "new".

Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, new but with damaged packaging product aka "dinger" and trade ins in generally like new condition. They are considered 3rd party by affiliation and as such the "Amazon Warehouse Deals" distinction but are still part of Amazon.

What is AmazonSmile?

About AmazonSmile

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes! All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken during restocks and or when pricing algorithm goes haywire. During those times, prices don't adjust and assimilate with the current inventory quickly enough to show the sorting as such

I'm waiting for a ps4, xb1, 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it, and or set alerts... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What is this "glitch deals" that I keep hearing about in this thread?

On August 7th, 2014, AWD glitched out similar to how it did around penny deals, except lot of stuff went for cheap instead for a penny. The pricing algorithm went haywire and in the process lot of stuff went for cheap across the AWD spectrum from games to iphones to tablets and everything else in between. The "glitch deal" lasted for maybe a couple of hours and fellow CAGs that were around during that time made out like a bandit. Below is the timeline leading up to the night and the deals that went down on that night.

What do you mean by a "dinger"?
Dinger = Item is new but the packaging is damaged in some way or form.

These are speculative guesses at best going by descritption of any given item and also taking into account the length of time an item has been out since its release. Shorter the span of time from release of a game or console, better the chance of scoring a new item with damaged packaging aka "dinger".

AWD product description says "Factory Sealed", is this item new?
First and foremost, AWD sells used / open box items so in their terms it has been sealed / resealed at an Amazon Warehouse and hence the "Factory Sealed" part so no it isn't necessarily new. It isn't necessarily new because it could go one of two ways:

1. It was traded in / open box return / test unit that was resealed at an Amazon warehouse facility.
2. It was a dinger (new with damaged packaging and with seals intact).

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
First and foremost all games from AWD are considered used unless specified as new. Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and depending on condition they can be perfect / brand new, brand new with damaged packaging aka "dinger" to just a game in a generic case. AWD has 5 condition criteria for their listings and they are:

New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unopened video game in perfect condition in its original packaging and with all original packaging materials included.

Like New: An apparently unopened video game in perfect condition (although it may be out of its original wrapping). The box and item are pristine, with no signs of wear. Suitable for presenting as a gift. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Very Good: A well-cared-for video game that has been played but remains in great condition. The game and its original packaging are complete and slightly worn, but unmarked and undamaged. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Good: The video game shows wear from consistent use, but remains in good condition. There may be clear external signs of wear and damage to the original packaging or instructions, but the game plays perfectly. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Acceptable: The video game is fairly worn, but it continues to work perfectly. The box and instructions may be missing or damaged. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Sellers are required to note whether the box or instructions are missing in the condition notes field for the item. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Any game I have personally ever bought in good or above condition has been in near mint condition. Acceptable ones have been a gamble. Getting DLC with games has also been a gamble and since AWD games are considered used, don't expect unused DLC even though there will be occassions where they may come unused. In regards to DLC, ymmv. Conditon wise, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases and inserts, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc. Consoles listed in "acceptable" conditon can be either new in damaged packaging and or a pure gamble in what conditon they will truly be in along with what is included in the box depending on the time frame from release of the console.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot

That explains why I couldn't find the 1000 model USB cable in stores. I had no idea they discontinued it for the latest model.
you can still find the full charger, which is still the USB cable with the power brick.
Or not, I might be wrong. Coulda sworn...

Try these out. I'll be ordering some myself soon since I just got myself a factory refurb white Vita from Fry's Electronics about a week ago. It's good to have the best of both worlds.

No matter which Vita you get, you'll be better off in life than you were previously.

#vitaislife
I've been showing more love to my Vita over my new 3DS. That really is something...

You mean this? The official charger didn't come with the USB cable. Honestly, that was a BS move on Sony's part...and also why my Fry's has over two dozen of them and can't get rid of 'em either. You can use nearly any USB charger to take care of your Vita.

I use my Galaxy S5 charger on it since it has 2.0 A rating and believe it or not, that .5 A goes a long way in speeding up your charge.

Thanks for all the prompt replies. The battle for the Borderlands Bundle (like that alliteration?) just got a little more intense! I like the extra battery life, I have big hands, and I hate proprietary cables (and memory, too, but that can't be helped). What other bundles include the Slim?

Just the Borderlands and the recently released stand alone slim. Though on AWD sometimes you'll see the colored JP versions pop up which if they're a good price you can get as well. Vita is region free, same power as JP, and can be set to English if you can't stand black or the price is right.

I have larger hands as well and found the slim to still feel better to me.

borderlands is the only current available bundle with the slim

Unless you want to turn Japanese, I'm afraid that's all...having said that...some JP ones are up and fulfilled by Amazon. Why buy one you ask? Well come on, don't tell me you wouldn't prefer a slim white and blue/lime colored one over the boring black one here in the States. And don't worry about regions or language; you can change the language on initial startup and the Vita games are unlocked. AND you can even access US PSN on it too. The only catch is you won't be able to claim warranties on them.

I had an issue with my JP PSP (not sure if it's different with Vita) where even though it was region free for games and you could set the language to english and even access US PSN store, there were still some features that were hard coded to the manufacturing region. There was some sort of news feed feature that was released and would give me an error that it couldn't load every time I started the PSP. A minor inconvenience, but just an FYI.

I got my fat model off ebay for 79$ and quite like it.  I do agree that it isn't always comfortable to hold. I only bought mine to play hearts r though and that was before bamco confirmed vita tv was gonna get patched to be compatible again :/

Thanks guys! I logged more hours than I care to admit on the first one, so it's good to know that I don't need to get that one. I definitely would've picked it up, only to find I wasted my money.

Received the (A) Xbox One for $242.99 from Thursday. Was definitely a dinger. Decent sized hole in the box that barely knicked the actual console. Haven't tested it, but it's definitely new/untouched with everything in the box, so I'm not too worried about it.

Condition: Used - Acceptable - Downloadable content (DLC) or codes for online play may require additional purchase. Item may come repackaged. Factory Sealed. Large wrinkle / bend (larger than 1.5 cm).
What all did it come with?

Simple question to answer:

- Buy the fat Vita (1000 model) if you want a more colorful (and perceptively, slightly sharper) screen and better potential at hacking (given that the previous owner didn't update their console). I highly recommend some silicone sleeve or a polycarbonate case as increasing the thickness of this Vita will help your hands wrap around it as you don't get much room for your fingers on the back thanks to the back touch screen.

- The slim Vita (2000) has an LCD screen which is less colorful but still retains 95% of the fat model's sharpness. It has a couple hours more of battery life and is thinner, lighter, and easier to handle since the back touch screen is smaller. It also ditches the proprietary USB port and adds 1GB of internal memory (not the proprietary memory, sorry)
Hack for the PSP emulation only not Vita gaming.

Hack for the PSP emulation only not Vita gaming.
Older firmwares also represent the best chance for a usermode Vita hack (e.g. the Webkit exploit that only works on <=3.18 but isn't used for anything yet)

Alright you Vita bums. I've recently decided that I need to have one, thanks to PS+ and remote play possibilities. I keep seeing that there are a lot of Vita options out there. What's going to be the best bang for my buck? What is the difference between the models (not just the 3g... don't care about that and will never use it)? If there is a more appropriate thread, someone can point me in that direction as well, but I have grown to rely on some of you AWD junkies' opinions on things, and thought it may be appropriate to ask here. Thanks.
Based on Sony's actions (or more importantly inactions) in regards to the vita, it is really a dead end (or just plain dead) platform, so if you can wait awhile you will be able to pick them up dirt cheap. The best bang for your buck is to wait it out and pick one up during fire sale after official announcements have killed any real demand. I see $99 for brand new as the clearance offering.

I snagged one of the PB ones and I'd have to personally say I was disappointed. The peanut butter ratio is just off. Too much peanut butter and I like peanut butter. Would have been happier if it was the original instead. Maybe that's why all of these boxes are so close to expiration hah.
Yeah not good at all. The signature part of a twix is the original cookie. You take that out and it is no longer a twix and is no good. The original cookie is/was perfection!

That already happened when there was that Target sale around New Years. Was so close yet so far away from it...

When my Fry's Marketplace (some of you know them as Kroger I think) was clearing out video games I could have gotten one for about $130 too. Didn't care about the Vita at that point - big mistake.

Do you get to eat candy all day? How are you liking those Crispy M&Ms? Glad to see them back!
Yes I do get to eat candy every day if I want to, you get used to it after several years of service though...

Well unfortunately I don't have all those varieties of M&Ms where I work (non US country) but I do get to eat the imported ones every now and then. However I eat TWIX regular and P&B a lot as they are produced in the plant I work and exported to US.

What was their thinking in re switching the cookie from original to chocolate? There has had to be a lot of negative consumer feedback about it. I bet that is why these are so close to the expiration. They can't be selling near as well as the original ones

Well I have great news for you and everybody else. Mars have taken the decision to switch the cookies back to original (actually this change happened a couple months ago). No longer you will taste the chocolate cookie anymore. I believe that's why there are those promotions going on. However I did like them in the P&B :(
