F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
From Amazon: Get deep discounts on open-box, like-new, refurbished, or used products that are in good condition but do not meet Amazon.com's rigorous standards as "new".

Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, new but with damaged packaging product aka "dinger" and trade ins in generally like new condition. They are considered 3rd party by affiliation and as such the "Amazon Warehouse Deals" distinction but are still part of Amazon.

What is AmazonSmile?

About AmazonSmile

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes! All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken during restocks and or when pricing algorithm goes haywire. During those times, prices don't adjust and assimilate with the current inventory quickly enough to show the sorting as such

I'm waiting for a ps4, xb1, 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it, and or set alerts... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What is this "glitch deals" that I keep hearing about in this thread?

On August 7th, 2014, AWD glitched out similar to how it did around penny deals, except lot of stuff went for cheap instead for a penny. The pricing algorithm went haywire and in the process lot of stuff went for cheap across the AWD spectrum from games to iphones to tablets and everything else in between. The "glitch deal" lasted for maybe a couple of hours and fellow CAGs that were around during that time made out like a bandit. Below is the timeline leading up to the night and the deals that went down on that night.

What states does Amazon charge sales tax?
Items sold by Amazon.com LLC, or its subsidiaries, and shipped to destinations in the following states are subject to tax:

Arizona
California
Connecticut

Florida
Georgia
Indiana
Kansas
Kentucky

Maryland

Massachusetts
Nevada
New Jersey
New York
North Carolina
North Dakota
Pennsylvania
Tennessee
Texas
Virginia
Washington
West Virginia
Wisconsin

Note: No sales tax is charged when purchasing gift cards; however, purchases paid for with gift cards may be subject to tax.

What do you mean by a "dinger"?
Dinger = Item is new but the packaging is damaged in some way or form.

These are speculative guesses at best going by descritption of any given item and also taking into account the length of time an item has been out since its release. Shorter the span of time from release of a game or console, better the chance of scoring a new item with damaged packaging aka "dinger".

AWD product description says "Factory Sealed", is this item new?
First and foremost, AWD sells used / open box items so in their terms it has been sealed / resealed at an Amazon Warehouse and hence the "Factory Sealed" part so no it isn't necessarily new. It isn't necessarily new because it could go one of two ways:

1. It was traded in / open box return / test unit that was resealed at an Amazon warehouse facility.
2. It was a dinger (new with damaged packaging and with seals intact).

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
First and foremost all games from AWD are considered used unless specified as new. Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and depending on condition they can be perfect / brand new, brand new with damaged packaging aka "dinger" to just a game in a generic case. AWD has 5 condition criteria for their listings and they are:

New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unopened video game in perfect condition in its original packaging and with all original packaging materials included.

Like New: An apparently unopened video game in perfect condition (although it may be out of its original wrapping). The box and item are pristine, with no signs of wear. Suitable for presenting as a gift. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Very Good: A well-cared-for video game that has been played but remains in great condition. The game and its original packaging are complete and slightly worn, but unmarked and undamaged. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Good: The video game shows wear from consistent use, but remains in good condition. There may be clear external signs of wear and damage to the original packaging or instructions, but the game plays perfectly. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Acceptable: The video game is fairly worn, but it continues to work perfectly. The box and instructions may be missing or damaged. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Sellers are required to note whether the box or instructions are missing in the condition notes field for the item. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Any game I have personally ever bought in good or above condition has been in near mint condition. Acceptable ones have been a gamble. Getting DLC with games has also been a gamble and since AWD games are considered used, don't expect unused DLC even though there will be occassions where they may come unused. In regards to DLC, ymmv. Conditon wise, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases and inserts, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc. Consoles listed in "acceptable" conditon can be either new in damaged packaging and or a pure gamble in what conditon they will truly be in along with what is included in the box depending on the time frame from release of the console.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot

So this is my first post after lurking for a few weeks. I'm still new to CAG but, obviously, instantly fell in love! I picked up Dark Souls II collector's edition that someone posted (sorry for not crediting, it's early and I did a quick look but couldn't find the original). It was in "good" condition. The corner of thebox had some creases and a bit of damage but everything inside was perfect.

I just wanted to thank everyone for all their contributions. I really look forward to posting a couple of deals here myself in the near future and paying it back!

Sorry I can't post a picture of it yet, I need 3 posts. I will update once that happens.
Welcome! And congratulations on joining the greatest website on the internet. :)

In any case I'm not gonna pay MORE than someone else and get less, and in bad condition. They'd strip me of me CAG badge.
Return it and try again. Your not entitled to anything when it comes to AWD. Luck of the draw and you just got unlucky. You would be better off just sending it back, and waiting for a better one once you get your refund, as MANY have been popping up lately for cheap and many of them have had great descriptions which seemed like dingers.

Just got off the phone with them. At first they said I could either return or exchange it; I had to ask for a partial refund. So I'm getting back... $27. Looking at Paul's older post and considering he paid less than I did, apparently that's a flat rate.

I guess $130 isn't too bad, even if I have to buy a charger.

Like I mentioned, I bought SSB from AMZ for $44 and returned it because it didn't work (Disc Read Error) and I returned it. The return was received earlier today and I was refunded... I wonder if this is the one I sent back?

Edit: I hope not. Someone already bought it.
I ordered a Like New Smash Bros for $44.53 on January 29 that is "Shipping Now" and is guaranteed delivery for Tuesday February 3

Was your disc scratched?

What was your product condition description?

Here is the description:

Condition: Used - Like New - Includes manual, cover art, and packaging. Bonus downloadable content may have already been redeemed. Game data from previous use may be present, but can be overwritten or deleted.

At first the Amazon rep offered me a 15% refund but I asked for 20% which equated to 27.xx which I thought was worrh the game voucher.
She didn't say anything about a percentage to me at all. If it were 15% I would have gotten less than $27, and 20% is more than that.

Did you get exactly $27 back?

fuck! I just realized I don't even have the MEMORY CARD!

Uh-uh; no way.
yea you are just better off returning it now instead of contacting them again cause every time you contact them it add a mark to your record and everytime you get a $ adjustments that anothr mark so i wouldnt risk that many marks in a short period so i would just cut the losses and just return everything. Since multiple marks in a short period can lead to a amazon ban.

just get one cheap off ebay or something like I did.  Only paid 79$ for it, got the square trade warranty thing for 3 years, came with a mem card and junk.

fuck! I just realized I don't even have the MEMORY CARD!

Uh-uh; no way.
You probably already checked, but, just in case, did you check if it was already inside the vita? When I bought mine from AW, I was worried they didnt package it because I didnt see it anywhere in the box. Instead, they just stuck it inside already.

Eh, guess it doesn't matter since you're returning it anyway.

Just set up a full return, and cancelled the partial one. No God dang way I'm paying a hundred and thirty dollars for a busted ass system with no charger, no memory card, and no game, when purchasing all that separately would cost me more than the bundle would BRAND NEW.

I want to know how this got past Amazon in the first place. It didn't come with ANYTHING it was supposed to be bundled with. And they still have the nerve to call it "factory sealed" and "like new."

I should have known. I've never had any luck buying from anyone other than Amazon directly, brand new. There's no way this would have gone well for me. Now I gotta go out to a library and print the shipping label, and go out to a UPS store and send it out. And just take the loss on the screen protector I already applied.

I got my Acceptable GTA V + TLoUR PS4 bundle today...and there's good news, bad news, and worse news.

Good news: There was a voucher for $10 on PSN that wasn't redeemed, and the PS4 itself looks unused

Bad news: The voucher for TLoUR was already redeemed.

Worse news: Gamestop's TIV for the PS4 dropped to $225 for some dumb reason! It'd be better to trade in the system to Best Buy for $263 and both GTA V and the Dualshock 4 to Gamestop for $66.

...Actually, that doesn't really sound like a bad idea. :whistle2:k

Does best buy trade in not need the controller?

This makes me quite happy. What else could Amazon possibly mean by "factory sealed?" I guess we'll find out tomorrow (I'm one of the most impatient people you've never met)! Will relay results to the thread.
Xbox One arrived. As expected, Xbox packaging had big external dent on corner. I'm not sure if the Xbox's packaging was original factory sealed, but everything inside was. It does look like the internal light of the power button is a bit off-centered. Anyone ever seen this?

Dang those Skylander triple packs went somewhat fast, there were several last time I checked.

I pretty much only got it for Zap, already have Hex and Dino Rang from the single packs, but couldn't pass that up.

Sad thing is I only have Swap Force and still don't have any from Swap Force except for the two that came with it.

I knew that would start an addiction but I'm glad that I've only paid 3 bucks or so for every figure that I have

How much'd you get it for?

Is there a threshold where Amazon gets mad at you for canceling too many orders after you buy them? Like if you are a constant buyers remorse buyer?

Not canceling* but refunding is a big flag for them even if its simple small orders, they will review your account i think on the 3rd refund most likely.

Hmm, I've done probably 1-2 returns a month for the past 2 years, although I average 150-200 orders a year for the past 3 years.

It all depends, were they returned orders? Thats fine i think. But if your missing things lets say, you want a partial refund or theres something wrong with your order such as no manual or box case or theres a dent in my box they will be strict on how many times you can do that before they review your account to determine if your legit with them.

Most of the time they will read previous chat history and link it up thats why, but explaining your issue if they do send a email warning about your account being close they will understand and see everything is fine.

Never got a warning, got a few partial refunds for orders I wasn't happy with for damage during shipping and something else, but maybe 5 of those total. All the rest were either returned for not being accurately described, or just out right returns.

Is there a threshold where Amazon gets mad at you for canceling too many orders after you buy them? Like if you are a constant buyers remorse buyer?
For the same item, maybe. I've taken advantage of Amazon preorders at gaming events before to get free swag. Stuff like tshirts and what not for preordering from Amazon while on the spot. I'd preorder, get my swag then cancel said preorder. After about the third time I got an angry email from Amazon saying that I was abusing their preorder system or something.

Thanks for clarifying guys. So I guess the takeaway is that as long as you make your cancel within that first 30 minutes you could do it a million times and not have a problem. However, the number of returns is up for discretion.

I've done like 5-8 cancels within the first 30 minutes within the last week (I can't recall doing any prior to this)... Then I cancelled two orders I made for those Twix cause I was just like... wtf am I doing.

I just wanted to make sure I'm not doing something frowned upon that puts me in some bind with Amazon.

man, the quality control on amazon warehouse items has gone way down. i just ordered an item earlier this week in good condition. it arrived today, when i opened up the package. the item was in a freaking ziploc sandwhich bag.

It's honestly been that way for years. You win some, you lose some, they continue to not care either way.
