F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
From Amazon: Get deep discounts on open-box, like-new, refurbished, or used products that are in good condition but do not meet Amazon.com's rigorous standards as "new".

Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, new but with damaged packaging product aka "dinger" and trade ins in generally like new condition. They are considered 3rd party by affiliation and as such the "Amazon Warehouse Deals" distinction but are still part of Amazon.

What is AmazonSmile?

About AmazonSmile

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes! All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken during restocks and or when pricing algorithm goes haywire. During those times, prices don't adjust and assimilate with the current inventory quickly enough to show the sorting as such

I'm waiting for a ps4, xb1, 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it, and or set alerts... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What is this "glitch deals" that I keep hearing about in this thread?

On August 7th, 2014, AWD glitched out similar to how it did around penny deals, except lot of stuff went for cheap instead for a penny. The pricing algorithm went haywire and in the process lot of stuff went for cheap across the AWD spectrum from games to iphones to tablets and everything else in between. The "glitch deal" lasted for maybe a couple of hours and fellow CAGs that were around during that time made out like a bandit. Below is the timeline leading up to the night and the deals that went down on that night.

What states does Amazon charge sales tax?

Arizona
California
Connecticut

Florida
Georgia
Indiana
Kansas
Kentucky

Maryland

Massachusetts
Nevada
New Jersey

North Carolina
North Dakota
Pennsylvania

Wisconsin

Note: No sales tax is charged when purchasing gift cards; however, purchases paid for with gift cards may be subject to tax.

What do you mean by a "dinger"?
Dinger = Item is new but the packaging is damaged in some way or form.

These are speculative guesses at best going by descritption of any given item and also taking into account the length of time an item has been out since its release. Shorter the span of time from release of a game or console, better the chance of scoring a new item with damaged packaging aka "dinger".

AWD product description says "Factory Sealed", is this item new?
First and foremost, AWD sells used / open box items so in their terms it has been sealed / resealed at an Amazon Warehouse and hence the "Factory Sealed" part so no it isn't necessarily new. It isn't necessarily new because it could go one of two ways:

1. It was traded in / open box return / test unit that was resealed at an Amazon warehouse facility.
2. It was a dinger (new with damaged packaging and with seals intact).

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
First and foremost all games from AWD are considered used unless specified as new. Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and depending on condition they can be perfect / brand new, brand new with damaged packaging aka "dinger" to just a game in a generic case. AWD has 5 condition criteria for their listings and they are:

New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unopened video game in perfect condition in its original packaging and with all original packaging materials included.

Like New: An apparently unopened video game in perfect condition (although it may be out of its original wrapping). The box and item are pristine, with no signs of wear. Suitable for presenting as a gift. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Very Good: A well-cared-for video game that has been played but remains in great condition. The game and its original packaging are complete and slightly worn, but unmarked and undamaged. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Good: The video game shows wear from consistent use, but remains in good condition. There may be clear external signs of wear and damage to the original packaging or instructions, but the game plays perfectly. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Acceptable: The video game is fairly worn, but it continues to work perfectly. The box and instructions may be missing or damaged. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Sellers are required to note whether the box or instructions are missing in the condition notes field for the item. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Any game I have personally ever bought in good or above condition has been in near mint condition. Acceptable ones have been a gamble. Getting DLC with games has also been a gamble and since AWD games are considered used, don't expect unused DLC even though there will be occassions where they may come unused. In regards to DLC, ymmv. Conditon wise, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases and inserts, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc. Consoles listed in "acceptable" conditon can be either new in damaged packaging and or a pure gamble in what conditon they will truly be in along with what is included in the box depending on the time frame from release of the console.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot

Isn't the adapter at least $20? Since it comes with the adapter it's not a bad value.
Yes, only if you can find a way to sell the headset to cover cost of the adapter

Also the Polk Audio 4 Shot is a good headset and also comes with an XB1 adapter I believe.

Just checked and the adapter on its own is $25 so it's $5 for a component headset. That's a good value to me.

The 4 Shots do as well as do all the initial XB1 headsets that came out at the same time.

Got my Friday shipments from the fire sale:

2x (Acceptable) 250GB Xbox 360 - One with controller, one without. Both consoles in really good shape

1x (Good) 250GB Xbox 360 Kinect Bundle - Complete in great condition with damaged packaging.

1x (Good) Nintendo 3DS Aqua - Complete with charger/stand thing. Really good condition

So Acceptable seems to be 50/50 on whether you get a controller or not (which most of us knew going in, definitely no complaints here). All Good items came better than described. Just wish more Good and above items wee available when I was slumming it with the Acceptable stuff...

Worth every penny. Glad I bought mine back in the day.
I got mine to play Sonic Adventures 1 and 2. And a few other things as well. Don't remember what though.

Polk 4Shot is a decent headset. Not sure if Pollk is offering those microphone cables though when you register your headsets.

Be ready for almost no treble on those things too; one of the things that disappointed me the most. Plenty of bass and mids are good too.

Have you tried buying the protection plan and then sending it in? They have:

$49.99 Mechanical breakdown and accidental damage coverage
$39.99 Mechanical breakdown coverage only

Choose whichever you would like and then send it in.

Here is the website to get the plans:

Your Amazon receipt will work if need it be.
I had a problem when they saw the word used on the receipt.

They will let you buy the warranty and tell you the receipt is fine, then deny your claim and refuse to refund your warranty money because amazon warehouse deals and used are i the receipt listing..

Until you tell them you had the wrong receipt and send them a copy of your buddies, or that happened to me anyways....

First time seeing this. It was for a blue DSi XL for $26. Package was shipped and scheduled to arrive tomorrow.

Hello,

We have been contacted by the shipper regarding order #108-9398698-xxxxxxx, and it appears that the package was damaged in transit. We're sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

When something like this happens, we normally send out a replacement order. In this case, though, a replacement order wasn't possible, so we've requested a full refund for your order. You'll see the refund apply to your original payment method within several business days.

Got an acceptable slim silver PS2 for $36. I'm on the fence of whether or not to keep it of return it though. The top of the console is rather scuffed up (probably partially from the way it was boxed) and I can live without a slim as I have an original fat PS2 that runs fine.

just a heads up, the adapter is connected to the headset, it cant be removed to be used with another headset. I actually had the same line of thinking when i bought it.

If they don't then don't buy them if you intend to talk with them. The built in mic is terrible and the promised firmware update to fix it never materialized. Even with the replacement mic it's better but still way too quiet.

HUGE shoutout to AWD legend coopscohen for selling me a 3DS XL at cost he got during the glitch. It was factory sealed! It's going to make my niece very happy on her birthday later this month!

The rest of my orders:

- the A 360 came with controller, and all cables, but no box (expected)

-the 20gb ps3 came in its original box and with controller / cables, but the disc drive didnt work. I spent a couple of hours taking it apart and actually managed to fix it. (none of the electronic stuff was broken only the plastic parts of the drive were messed up). Have no idea what I did in the end to actually get it to work though.

- the A white ds lite came with charger no box.

so my haul today was a good one.

Guess I completely missed the wave of cheap consoles.  Were there any Wii U's?  Sounds like mostly 3ds and 360's.

Edit:  Actually I just found a 3rd party seller on amazon selling a 8gb model w/ pro controller (no gamepad) for $150.  Is this a good deal?

Yes there was. Not sure if anything was missing from the (A) ones because I don't think anybody posted that they picked them up. Unless they haven't received them yet.

Well I got back from the Midwest today and was greeted with that Tales of Xillia copy:

Yeah...not exactly a dinger...but seems to be OK. Disc looks fine. I'm just glad to be back in Arizona time. Thanks guys.

The only time in the country that is "normal". Jealous.

Went on a business trip to Phoenix three years ago and was asking about time and they laughed about how everyone else in the country uses daylight saving time. I agree, and we hate it.

That's for the standard chat headset. I think they are referring to the xbox stereo headset.
that is the one i was talking about, but now that i checked, the adapter does come off, i was looking for where the cord connected to the headset itself instead of disconnecting it straight from the adapter.

Man, I missed a great sale and hearing all these great stories. I have a xbox 360 e I'm using and a xbox 360 slim. Just wanted to say that the e console is so much better and not making so much noise. The slim isn't bad either. I do like the slim better vs e because of looks. I picked the e at target $132. The slim during RadioShack $70-$80 don't remember. Also picked up a ps3 from radio shack for $100. Put a 1 tb drive in the ps3 and loving it. I picked up the ps move and man it's amazing. Don't have many games since I have a backlog of xbox 360 games, but will play fight lights out time from time. Anyone think is it worth pickin up a ps vita? Man I have like 5 gba sp, wii, GameCube, psp 1000, psp 3000. Since joining cag, build up a collection of games and can't get to all the games. I have a ds lite brand new only play 2 times, psp 3000 new from sears for $42, still use psp 1000, etc. how do everyone find the space and time to play all these games? My friend just got a xbox one day 1 edition from someone that does that game test thing. So pumped to play dark knight when it comes out. Also giving a shot out to deal seeker. It takes time to keep pace of those amazon deals and giving back so much to the forums. Oh, I got a 3ds xl and barely play it as much since playing xbox. I have so many games still in its shrink wrap. Any tips to chop on backlog? Thanks cag and god bless

Just wanted to say thanks, I got in on the glitch and bought some things. One of them was a (G) 4 GB Xbox 360, came in great shape for being 4 years old. But the seal has been tampered with and I just come to realize that it is banned from Xbox live. So what do you guys recommend doing? Also thank you lol.

Return it or try to sell it, just mention that it's banned when selling it, etc.. Really your only options unless you don't mind playing offline. or give it to someone who doesn't care that they're offline

Somebody in here I think or another thread mentioned you could also just sell parts of it online since people buy that stuff. You could try that too.

I just wanted to thank whoever posted the Zone of the Enders 360 game during the crazy low prices the other night. I ended up blindly buying a copy for $7 after tax and it came today, brand spanking new. There was the Amazon Like New sticker on the back on the outside of the factory seal, and the Microsoft sticker on the game case was still there. Not bad, I'd say.

Is the Xbox one stereo headset worth buying for $29 or should I wait for a better and cheaper on?
i bought a pair. They tend to have a static popping noise every 3-5 seconds. Shit gets annoying. I thought i got a fault set but many others have this problem. Supposedly a problem with the software. I just kept them for the adapter.
Same, use the headset adaptor and Sony Gold headsets. Thanks Sears.
The sony gold made me ear lobe hurt. Just one earlobe. The first i every experience that before with any headphones before.

Someone cancelled it...keep looking

(my friend ordered it and he changed his mind like a boob)

No thanks, I just bought the Aqua Blue Vita. Hope it comes in today. See Whoknows, Sovereign doesn't try, Sovereign DOES with style!

That PSP came in early and I'm testing it out. Everything looks good...except the battery doesn't seem to want to charge. I hope it's something as simple as the battery being unseated...I'll be back in a bit with photos.

Battery issues are pretty common on psps. Usually fixed by folding up a piece of paper and putting it between the battery and the cover.
