F.A.Q's

What is Amazon Warehouse Deals?
From Amazon: Get deep discounts on open-box, like-new, refurbished, or used products that are in good condition but do not meet Amazon.com's rigorous standards as "new".

Warehouse Deals is part of amazon that has open box, new but with damaged packaging product aka "dinger" and trade ins in generally like new condition. They are considered 3rd party by affiliation and as such the "Amazon Warehouse Deals" distinction but are still part of Amazon.

What is AmazonSmile?

About AmazonSmile

Is the Amazon Warehouse Deals return policy the same as Amazon's return policy?
Yes! All purchases are eligible for Amazon customer service and 30 day return policy.

I'm using the games sort by console link, and the games will not sort by price properly. What is wrong?
You aren't doing anything wrong, the sort by price feature on Amazon is broken during restocks and or when pricing algorithm goes haywire. During those times, prices don't adjust and assimilate with the current inventory quickly enough to show the sorting as such

I'm waiting for a ps4, xb1, 360, ps3, 3ds, or PS Vita to pop up.. What time do they usually appear?
They can show up any time, the best way to find it is have the item tabbed on your browser, and download an auto refresh app and frequently check it, and or set alerts... Sometimes they will not pop up on amazon warehouse deals storefront, you will need to check the "used" section of the item

Why did all the prices of games randomly jump up?
Games on warehouse deals generally go on a cycle. They will get extremely low, great deals.. Then they will jump back up and restart the cycle of falling in price again.

I have a gaming credit and/or an Amazon gift card. Can both of these be applied to Warehouse Deals orders?
Gift cards can be applied to orders made on warehouse deals, however video game credit is only good for items shipped and sold by "amazon.com", warehouse deals does not count as this.

What was Penny Deals?
In early September of 2011, tons of newer release, more expensive games popped up for 1 penny each. Many CAG members placed orders, expecting them to get cancelled. Some were cancelled, however many CAGS got a large amount of games for a penny each. There has been no confirmation what exactly happened and why these games were sold for a penny.

What is this "glitch deals" that I keep hearing about in this thread?

On August 7th, 2014, AWD glitched out similar to how it did around penny deals, except lot of stuff went for cheap instead for a penny. The pricing algorithm went haywire and in the process lot of stuff went for cheap across the AWD spectrum from games to iphones to tablets and everything else in between. The "glitch deal" lasted for maybe a couple of hours and fellow CAGs that were around during that time made out like a bandit. Below is the timeline leading up to the night and the deals that went down on that night.

Florida
Georgia
Indiana
Kansas
Kentucky

Maryland

Massachusetts
Nevada
New Jersey

What do you mean by a "dinger"?
Dinger = Item is new but the packaging is damaged in some way or form.

These are speculative guesses at best going by descritption of any given item and also taking into account the length of time an item has been out since its release. Shorter the span of time from release of a game or console, better the chance of scoring a new item with damaged packaging aka "dinger".

AWD product description says "Factory Sealed", is this item new?
First and foremost, AWD sells used / open box items so in their terms it has been sealed / resealed at an Amazon Warehouse and hence the "Factory Sealed" part so no it isn't necessarily new. It isn't necessarily new because it could go one of two ways:

1. It was traded in / open box return / test unit that was resealed at an Amazon warehouse facility.
2. It was a dinger (new with damaged packaging and with seals intact).

What condition are products from Warehouse Deals generally in?
First and foremost all games from AWD are considered used unless specified as new. Usually, games are re-shrinked wrap and depending on condition they can be perfect / brand new, brand new with damaged packaging aka "dinger" to just a game in a generic case. AWD has 5 condition criteria for their listings and they are:

New: Just like it sounds. A brand-new, unused, unopened video game in perfect condition in its original packaging and with all original packaging materials included.

Like New: An apparently unopened video game in perfect condition (although it may be out of its original wrapping). The box and item are pristine, with no signs of wear. Suitable for presenting as a gift. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Very Good: A well-cared-for video game that has been played but remains in great condition. The game and its original packaging are complete and slightly worn, but unmarked and undamaged. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Good: The video game shows wear from consistent use, but remains in good condition. There may be clear external signs of wear and damage to the original packaging or instructions, but the game plays perfectly. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Acceptable: The video game is fairly worn, but it continues to work perfectly. The box and instructions may be missing or damaged. The video game may have identification markings from its owner. Sellers are required to note whether the box or instructions are missing in the condition notes field for the item. Activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Product may not include downloadable content.

Any game I have personally ever bought in good or above condition has been in near mint condition. Acceptable ones have been a gamble. Getting DLC with games has also been a gamble and since AWD games are considered used, don't expect unused DLC even though there will be occassions where they may come unused. In regards to DLC, ymmv. Conditon wise, some people have reported that games were scratched with stickers on the insert. Consoles are also usually reported in like new or new condition with box damage. Rarely, a console may be missing a key component such as a power brick. Games listed in "acceptable" condition likely have very beaten up cases, or are missing cases and inserts, and are in not so great condition, but generally have a working game disc. Consoles listed in "acceptable" conditon can be either new in damaged packaging and or a pure gamble in what conditon they will truly be in along with what is included in the box depending on the time frame from release of the console.

Here is an example of a like new handheld (PS Vita) - Thanks Slixshot

I bought that Dino Rang even though I have that one from the three pack. What is wrong with me?

I also bought that Disney Infinity CE for $57 even though I own the game on the xbox one and xbox 360, and I own every Disney Infinity figure except for the weird crystal Toys R Us exclusives. I just wanted that gigantic frost giant display.

I have issues.

I already bought my Vita over two weeks ago now but I still get excited whenever I see Vita deals posted. I wonder how long this side effect will stick with me...
I know what you mean. I actually got in on the borderlands bundle a couple of weeks back, from Best Buys deal of the day. And here I am searching and buying a second one. CAG problems.

I've got enough gift credit to grab one of those Assassin's Creed bundles and I'm so tempted, but at this point I really need to focus on building up my Vita game library first. I'll focus on new shinies once I've got a bigger backlog for it

I forgot to post that my (LN) Vita 3G/Wi-Fi Bundle and (G) PSP 3000 from the glitch night were delivered. Both are complete and in excellent condition. I've only tested them out a little, but I couldn't be happier. These are my first Sony handhelds.

Do you guys have recommendations for cases, grips, and screen protectors for the Vita and/or the PSP 3000? I'd appreciate it.

I like the case in this youtube video below because it holds 16 vita cartridges, but I can't find it anywhere.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmAKXMmnFvw

I almost bought the case linked below at Gamestop. It was $9.99 and it was clearly a conversion from new to preowned. The GS employee recommended it for the OLED version, but during checkout I was smart enough to check Amazon and see it was cheaper. http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Vita-Carrying-Case/dp/B00006IL3C/ref=sr_1_10?ie=UTF8&qid=1429169761&sr=8-10&keywords=vita+case

I really am a cheapass. This case looks kind of junky anyway.

I'm leaning towards this grip. http://www.amazon.com/CTA-Digital-Vita-Hand-Grip-playstation/dp/B0073ESZ58/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1429169872&sr=8-1&keywords=vita+grip I think it's the one from that youtube video.

I need it for my giant man hands.

I know the OLED version is more expensive (~$30 on Amazon last I checked), but I'm loving my Nyko Power Grip for the Slim. It's basically the same controller-like grip you linked to at the bottom of your post, except it also doubles the battery life by charging from its internal battery while the Vita is locked into it. The Slim version was like $10 less than the Fat version at the time I bought it, but honestly for how much use I'm getting out of it I would have gladly paid the extra $10. I did see the Fat one for $17 on Warehouse Deals the night of the glitch, though. Not sure that's a common price for it there or not.

As far as cases go, I grabbed this one which fits both versions http://amzn.com/B0073ESYZO. They all generally seem pretty similar, so I just picked a cheap one that had good reviews. No complaints.

It may not be your thing, and I think the Fat version is a bit different than what I got for my Slim, but I also grabbed an ArmorSuit "Carbon Fiber" (just looks like carbon fiber, is actually just nylon from what I hear) skin for mine, just so it doesn't get any scratches. Might be a little overkill, and the screen protector is a bit of a pain to put on cleanly, but the skin itself is pretty easy and looks/feels better than the stock gloss, in my opinion. http://amzn.com/B00KFPNCB4

*EDIT* Fat version: http://amzn.com/B005CZD8BG

I agree with you on the Alpha, overpriced for what you get.

But the consoles 1080P (at $400) vs a PC's 2160P (at MUCH more than $400) is not that great of a comparison.

Need more power to run that 12k resolution game? yeah... and how much will that cost? The biggest issue with PC gaming is $$$$$. Gotta keep spending more money to keep playing the new games, at least with a console it's $400ish every 4-5 years.

I build my gaming PC's, keeps the cost down... but it truly is a money sink.
Lol, what you said is so completely wrong that I don't know how to respond to it. Just keep spending money for consoles, controllers, the ability to play online, more expensive games, etc., and I'll keep building my inexpensive, future-proofed PCs that are much better and do more than play video games and Netflix.

I've always looked at it that way, myself. A PC is not just a gaming platform, and when the majority of people are just going to buy a computer for their various other needs anyways, why not invest more in it? You'll have not only a superior gaming device, but also a computer capable of handling whatever you require of it.

Plus, like you said, consoles have their hidden costs as well. Put the $50 or so per year for Xbox Live/PS+ (I know it's probably actually sub-$30 for the average CAG, but I'm speaking generally here) into a hardware upgrade every now and then, as well as the money that you will undoubtedly save on games via the wider variety of digital deals available on PC.

And your PC doesn't necessarily need to be the best hardware available at all times, either. Especially if you can settle for console graphics in the first place, you can get away with sticking with the same hardware for years.

I traded a 1mb Sega Saturn RAM cart for my complete copy but they go closer to $45 now.  Not saving much but prime, no hassle returns make it a little better.

Wonderful game, the sequels didn't quite have the same charm.

I've barely upgrade my PC since 2011 - and I can run a good amount of games still. I originally spent around $1200 or so building this PC (i7 950 w/ 4 cores at 3 Ghz or so; 1 GB RAM GTX 560 Ti; Win 7 64-bit OS) for The Witcher 2, week of release. I did upgrade from 8 GB of RAM originally to now 16 GB RAM. I've added hard-drives (internal and external) + spent money on that - but eh, that's about it. No real major hardware overhauls here...yet.

Only thing I really need here is a new video card (looking at something 3GB-4GB VRAM) TBH - namely to run games I already own like ACU + TEW; and so I could run games that I want like Ryse, Witcher 3, M-E: SoM, and anything else requiring or recommending wanting more VRAM on the vid-card.

I run most games at 1080p here - and I've been happy w/ that on my 23'' monitor.

Speaking of glitch, finally got the Wii U set up that I bought for $140 that night... it's in amazing condition!  The box even had the little circle stickers intact, but obviously it wasn't brand new with smudges and dust on the unit.  Awesome deal and Mario Kart 8 made it worth it!

Not sure what circle stickers you're talking about as that console does not come with stickers that seal the box (all Nintendo consoles stopped having seal stickers)

check out the first 2 pics of the box... there was a discussion about it when I posted that I received the Wii U but I think someone said they did put them on the Wii Us at the beginning of their production... I dunno, I just know the box I got had like 4 of them sealing it up!

I think it may be an older one or something, because your nintendoland is on a disc, mine was digital.

Someone also said that nintendo is doing the stickers on wiiu again, I think.

Either way, good find.

Great find nonetheless

Darn, looking at a Destiny VG LE but hoping the expansion pass is unused.
I ordered one this past weekend. The slip cover and outer box had some damage on the edges. Everything inside was pristine, and it had all the vouchers. Unfortunately, the DLC code was already used. This was the description:

Condition: Used - Very Good - Downloadable content (DLC) or codes for online play may require additional purchase. Missing shrink-wrap, activation codes for bonus online content may be missing or expired. Small cut/scatch on set case. Small wrinkle / bend on set case.

Damn! Wii U's for $150? I need to pay more attention now that my girls are starting to game.

Lol, what you said is so completely wrong that I don't know how to respond to it. Just keep spending money for consoles, controllers, the ability to play online, more expensive games, etc., and I'll keep building my inexpensive, future-proofed PCs that are much better and do more than play video games and Netflix.
I do NOTHING on my gaming PC except games... Winbloat is worthless, 8 and 10 are a joke. (there's a reason winbloat PC's sales/upgrades are falling like a rock)

You guys are comparing a $1200+ PC (MysterD) to a $400 console... (save $800+ and pay for online gaming for the next 16 years that you are complaining about)

I would advise against buying any pre-packaged, proprietary Linux PC like that. It's got a 4th Gen i3 with 4GB DDR3 RAM and last year's second tier graphics card. It'll be good for a little while, but PC gaming is already into 2160p and up whereas consoles are still stuck at 1080/900p. There's a new racing game coming out that's 12k resolution. You'll need moar powar to get the full effect of these games. I don't think you will be able to upgrade that like you would a regular PC, either.

I bought a better laptop for $379 last year. It has 6GB RAM and 750GB hard drive space. Run Steam in big picture mode, spend $20 on MS controller, plug the HDMI into my TV and I'm golden. I'd definitely return it if I were you.
Yeah but the form factor for me is a HUGE deal. This thing is the size of a Wii and fits nicely on my entertainment center. For $400, the ability to play most games (and it'll be that way for awhile, everything is upgradable except the GPU), run a plex server, be an emulator box, etc. at that cheap, I'm fine with that.

I could build one, but I don't particularly care to. You'd be hard pressed to for $400 with the same quality parts, an OS, and a 360 controller. And I especially don't want a huge tower in my living room, I'm not going to build a huge battle station either.

It's plugged up to my 1080p TV which I play on, so the 2160p doesn't apply to me anyway. I'll take it for the exclusives I wanna play or the semi annual steam sales on stuff I want.

I'm in no way a PC elitist and play consoles more, mostly due to that's where my friends play too.

I'm 100% with you on the form factor, I tried getting into PC gaming for awhile and built myself a rig and people talked me out of going mini-itx at the time. Going micro-ATX, I ended up with something bigger than I wanted. The thing too is, even the smallest cases are bigger than a system like the alpha (which people can't seem to understand as much as you tell them). Most people that build only think about upgradibility and higher resolutions above 1080p when some of us just want something simple and small that doesn't look like a space station tower that small planes can land on. At $400 I think it's worth it for what you're getting. I'm actually considering one now, even though I don't really need it. Price is right.

Was a stealth price cut for a week. (Mainly their clean out process for special editions like AC Vita, Black Ops Vita, Zelda/Mario/SSB 3DSXL)

3DSXL - $99
Vita - $99
WiiU - $150

Prices dropped since last post!!! Grabbed myself one with a Good Condition rating. Hopefully its descent enough for the price!

:vita: Assassin's Creed III Liberation PlayStation Vita Wi-Fi Bundle (A) $104.66 (G) $111.64 (VG) $118.61 (LN) $125.69
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang...very nice price.

Do be sure that your OLED screen is OK: put a pure black or gray .jpg in your Vita to make sure the thing doesn't have those splotches on the screen.

I bought mine refurbished from Fry's Electronics and couldn't be happier...only now it's mothballed since I'm loving that JP imported aqua blue one. :D/

I've seen that case up close...don't buy it. You're better off with a polycarbonate shell or silicone sleeve and an EVA case that closes over it.

Also for the PSP I forgot to mention to you in my PM: Micro SD to Memory Stick. And yes, 128GB in your PSP is VERY possible.

I still love my PC for gaming. I actually had to spend about $500 on a new motherboard and Core i7 when I dropped my PC two months ago :wall:

Unlike you guys, mine went bigger...This much bigger.

Pity I'm not really tricking out my new machine as there hasn't been a whole lot of PC games that interest me. With AWD and some flipping, I've been getting a lot of console games cheap. Not to mention Vita games at Target and BBY earlier this year. Wal-Mart's still clearing them and no one cares in Arizona as they're still abundant. Still waiting for the Tales of series to be ported to PC...will probably rebuy all the Ys stuff for PC just because it's prettier there...yeah...I can go on forever.

Mine has splotches on the screen but arent notcieable unless it's a pure black screen. Got mine from AWD over year ago.

Also thanks for the link a few pages back :D

Exactly, those are AWD seals and not Nintendo ones.
