Just picked up my first amiibo today. Found three Fox at Best Buy and picked one up. He looks good and I know he's kind of hard to find. Then at Target I ended up picking up the three $9.99 amiibos (Peach, DK, Yoshi). Placed an order for Toad, Bowser and Kirby (to get free shipping) from bestbuy.com when I got home. I guess I'm in this now?

I also somehow found a Majora's Mask 3D Limited Edition game/skull kid bundle at Best Buy... somehow. I like how the back of the box informs that Skull Kid is not an amiibo, lol.

I'd say it was a good day!

Amiibo will be 25% off at Target next week (starting tomorrow). Have you opened your Peach, DK, and Yoshi yet?!

Side note--Fox was what got me in too. When he started to dry up in February, he became my first "real" amiibo purchase.

Appreciate the heads up, but I did find out afterwards about the sale and haven't opened them yet because of it. I figure that having to go back out for a return/rebuy will give me another reason to check the stock at stores... which sounds like I'm definitely in the amiibo game now.

 
I think you can just bring your receipt to Target starting tomorrow to get a price adjustment.

No need to even bring the Amiibo back to the store.

It's either
A. STOLEN
B. DIFFRENT AMIIBO SCANNED IN PLACE OF IT
C. LOST
D. ACTUALLY THERE (.0000001% CHANCE)

regardless the new revisions for amiibo at target doesnt have any set peg locations for villager. If you were to give an employee the dpci it wouldnt have a salesfloor location.
 
Just bought Peach at my local target. Don't really care much for her but recent price reduction + 25% off + gift card from cancelled MM 3DS XL was difficult to pass up. Unfortunately no SSB Yoshi in stock.

 
Still surprised by people unable to find Yoshi.. a ton at Mays Landing, NJ Target. Wasn't going to get one, but at $7 I couldn't resist.

Unrelated side note: $15 for some great 3ds games too. I got New SMB2, but Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3d Land, and DK Country Returns 3d are available at that price

How rare is the Gold Mario? I'm not really interested in these things other than the Villager and Toad given those are my favs, but I saw three at my local Walmart this morning, bought two, gave the third to another person who seemed interested in it.

Well let's just say this is probably the last time ever you will see him in stores. GM got a small restock this week but that's it after this wave of restocks.

I'm still having a hard time trying to trade my extra Gold Mario on craigslist. Would I be better off selling it?

Or maybe I should be specific on what amiibo I want to trade it for, I only put in "for other amiibo, don't care if it's opened or not."

Yes, then buy another amiibo, you're trying to trade him at a time people still have hopes of finding him in stores. It's selling pretty close to what most rares would cost you anyways.

all amiibo including mario party ones are $9.74 at target this week, even less if you have redcard 5% discount

best time to pick them up is now

Or that, unless amiibo tanks completely in the next 6 months. I remember when Pit and little Mac were sub $30 also back in January, even though they were already hard to find in stores. It takes a few months before it sets in on people's mind that these won't ever be found in stores again.

Yup this exactly. But eBay prices just seem to dictate the market and peoples thoughts. Gotta think ahead :D/

Also why are people looking to actively trade wave 4 Amiibos? They're not out yet so are they looking to buy someone's preorder? Doesn't make sense.

I had about 20 walmart cancellations for gold Marios. I don't care enough to drive an hour to see if the stores have them on the shelf. I figure employees are keeping them at this point
